- G`day Folks,
A simple and effective method here for you this episode, on how how to make pipe loads for a bogie bolster wagon, although the same logic could be applied to other wagons as well.

Hi Gormo, we also have the paper straws and spray putty filler over here in the independent UK from a few hours ago. That is a good tip as I can see the putty being used in quite a few ways. The loads do look very convincing and the white chalk customer name just clinches it.
Barry.Devon
G`day Barry,
Thanks for your comments.
I agree the putty may be useful for other projects. Not quite sure what just yet, but you never know.?
Cheers
Gormo
Awesome, great job!
Thanks Donald,
Stay safe
Cheers Gormo
Thanks, love what you do and really appreciate you taking the time to put videos out. Thanks again.
No Worries Kevin,
It keeps me off the street and out of the pub...LOL

@@greatchesterfordjunction Well, dang all mate. Ya stole my favorite slogan! I've been telling my wife when she complains about "too much money or too much time" being spent on model RR stuff that it keeps me off the streets and out of the bars! And I just now found your website. That's just too funny. Uh you don't have any family in California USA do ya??? Cuz the best I know we don't have any relations down that a way. At least that we claim anyway!!! You may be the first. And you're a right classy guy, being a model RRer and all.
And thanks for the video. I have a box of straws sitting on my workbench waiting for me to finish diggin' out several more flatcars from the stash. You know what they say: Great minds think alike!

@@thomream1888 G`day Thom,
Welcome aboard GCJ Model Railway channel.
As far as I know, I have no relatives in the USA at all, however if you come across some really classy folks in California, who like model railways, well mate, you never know.....????
Good luck with your flat car project and I hope they turn out really well for you.

Hi Gormo, your project looks nice & like realistic pipe cargo wagon 👍
Keep in the Rail & Greetings from Indonesia ...
Thanks Railfans PSI,
All the best to you from Australia

Great job, Gormo! So we modellers have pipe wagons and match trucks - all we need now are tobacco vans! :)
Thanks Ray,
Yes mate...why not...anything is possible in model railways...LOL
Cheers

Hi Gormo.
I did something similar but for my short coal / ballast wagon's as I don't have your type of wagon. I should get round to painting them though as your idea of writing on the pipes made them look great. 🚂🚃
G`day DJ,
I don`t know where the idea for writing on the pipes came from..???...possibly just one of those flashes of inspiration that was just passing through the old grey matter and I happened to catch onto it.
However it does give purpose to the load and makes it unique to your own railway if you decide to do it.
All the best
Gormo
Nice realistic load that stands up well to the 3-foot rule.
Thanks Crow T,
Yes most of the time we view our trains from around that distance, so if it looks OK at that distance, then it`s.......OK.????
Cheers
Gormo
@@greatchesterfordjunction Especially true with my eyes now. I've noticed that I don't see much difference between new super-detailed items and older or less expensive, less detailed items from a normal viewing distance. My railroad is getting cheaper as I go.
@@SBCBears
Well that`s something good out of something not so good !
Good Luck to you Crow T

I used to use that chain as anchor chain on 1/72 Model ships, , same scale .with a stroke of rust type paint colour, great job though..Adrian
G`day Adrian,
Yes I think it would look better with some rust stains on the chain.
Thanks for the tip.

thanks for the tip. I have made 2 loads. will promote your channel when i show them on my channel, Burrell Rail home to Brooklyn road. Thanks keep up the good work
G`day Chris,

@@greatchesterfordjunction cheers. Will be doing the update soon. Thanks for the lovely comments. Cheers Chris
Hi Gormo, I must have found some better quality straws. The one I bought haven't got the white on the edge of the banding showing. And don't need painting. 🤓
G`day Philip,
Aha !!!!......I must stop buying the cheapest first thing I find....interesting that there are better quality straws out there somewhere.?
Thanks for the tip.
Cheers Gormo
Where did u get the straws from please
