  • #livingincostarica #relocation #expat Rick and Lisa moved to Costa Rica from Canada 3 years ago. They chose Uvita on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. They had plans. One was to start an Airbnb, which they did do. They were not expecting to divorce. Ricky went back to Canada. Lisa lives in Uvita alone. What will she do? Will she stay in Costa Rica? Return to Canada? How's her life been going since the split? Check out this video to catch up with Lisa and her plans. Now She is Single 👱🏼‍♀️ Living in Costa Rica ALONE 😱

For viewers who were wondering about the planned rolling electricity outages that Michael mentioned at @ 3:40: the start of the rainy season came late this year, resulting in lowered water stores. That in turn impacted Costa Rica's ability to produce its hydroelectric power. The government announced a week of rotating 3-hour electrical outages that would impact the entire country. I live the in the Central Valley and we had a ton of rain just before this was to happen - and here the shut-offs didn't happen at all. In Heredia Province, we do have occasional periods of no water or no electricity - usually due to some sort of city, utility or condo repair work. For water, it's typically a couple of hours in the morning and for the electricity it is normally 10 - 15 minutes. Depending on the location in CR - YMMV.

She is a very intelligent as well as beautiful woman. Although she denies it, it's obvious shes a go getter and Makes her own "Luck". I really liked her comment about buying new. I just purchase a new truck in Escazu and was a little unsure at first. Santa Ana is not my scene I need to find a place like she found but im also alone so it's intimidating. Although financially secure would like to find a work trade for space to keep active. GREAT Interviewing SKILLS Mike!

Please listen to Lisa. It really is a necessity for you to do your research. If you come with a partner, they need to be FULLY onboard. Take the time to find your “place” - land, house, local amenities. If you can do it, find a place where you don’t NEED a car. You have to be able to chill here, because things will go wrong, will take a LOT longer to do, and can be more expensive than you expect. However, it is a really lovely place to live, with great people. I too have been here 3 1/2 years, also having moved from Canada, and have no plans to move on.
