Ink & Embossed Junk Mail Envelope Pockets - Process Video

- Hi and Welcome! I'm Lily and in today's video I am going to make a couple of ink & embossed junk mail window envelope pockets for junk journals. I will be using two different Tim Holtz design embossing folders and a couple of the Tim Holtz Distress inks to create a beautiful ink & embossed design on the altered junk mail envelopes. Grab your supplies and let's make this together.
Here is a list of supplies you may need:
junk mail window envelopes or regular #10 window envelopes
embossing folders
Big Shot or similar for use with the embossing folders
Distress Inks or any ink pads in your stash
paper scraps (scrapbook paper, vintage music sheets, text paper)
word sticker
floral stickers, ephemera or floral digitals
glue
scissors
water spray bottle or mister is optional

I love these pockets!! I actually get way more junk mail with window envelopes than I realized. I practiced cutting and folding three envelopes as I was watching this video. I am not a very straight or even cutter I have discovered. But hopefully practice will make at least closer to perfect. 😊 Now, I understand your excitement about junk mail envelopes! I really appreciate this video. I just love the things you make out of envelopes . I have made a number of these and will make some more. I love the aqua one with the gray lining and I would have left the gray lining show on the little flaps. ah what a cute idea! will be trying that! for my dried glue sticks, i extend the glue and then put overnight in cup of warmish water for it to re-absorb. then use again. my friend just told me that if i use a drier glue stick to run it thru the laminator and that heats the glue stick and dries perfectly! will also be doing that! TFS! new subbie also -

The best idea! I usually collage these envelopes and it can take forever sometimes. I love embossing folders, but I rarely remember them when looking for a new idea. Thank you for connecting the dots for me! These are gorgeous!

These are adorable!! I have several friends who get tons of junk and other mail who save envelopes for me. I only ger a natural gas bill and an electric bill...debt free otherwise! Let me know if you need envelopes...I have sevetal 52 Qt tubs full and will happily share! -Amy

Hi, I've not had that issue with any of the envelopes I ran through the big shot. I've made several more since then, too. 🤞
How did you emboss the envelope off camera? They are beautiful!
Off camera, I used a Big Shot to run the embossing folder through. It adds pressure and leaves an imprint on the paper/envelope. :)
I like your junk mail envelopes. I make greeting cards I wonder how I could use them in the cards. Any ideas?
Thank you! I love making cards and I would probably use smaller ones as toppers to a card and then you've added a cute pocket with a window.
