I used to like Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel back in the 90s and turn-of-the-millennium. A lot of what they carried really felt like my style. Not anymore. Restoration Hardware too. Everything is colorless and very same old, same old. Most of their items can be found elsewhere for less. Extravagant prices for blasé decor that tries to appeal to the masses. From a marketing standpoint, it makes perfect sense. Style-wise it isn’t saying anything. I’ll pass.
