I see, the meal you had is typically Serbian. Only in Serbia it is much bigger and richer. If you go to Belgrade, you should order the real thing, originally! It is called LESKOVACKA TEPSIJA (the origin of dish comes from south of Serbia, cities Leskovac, Nis, Pirot), it's a huge platter with all kinds of the best Serbian grown and cured meats, cevapi, pljesavica, raznjici, kobasice, krmenadle, suvi vrat, biftek, ramstek, leskovacki ustipci, grilled of course. The variety of meat is stunning! The quality, too! And, only in Serbia, the meat is organic. Not GMO, since Serbian law and food regulations strictly forbids GMO. So, everything is organic, fruits, veggies, grains, wholegrains, dairy produce etc. And juices in Serbia come from real fruit, cold pressed.

In Serbia they still sell a paper Oglasi which is just ads (and it might be free paper), where people just put if they are selling something, or need help with gardening or whatever. Cedevita is Croatian! It is not Montenegrin. And yeah, it's the cheapest kind of drink, chemicals, practically. So very unusual not to have proper juice, from real fruit, served in a restaurant, but chemicals from plastic bottle instead. But it's not much of a restaurant, I see. A crummy place, doesn't look very clean.

If you want to treat yourself with slowly cooked meat you need to use right terminology... go in any restaurant and ask for " Teletina ispod sača" basically a beef cooked in special type of traditional cooking vessel slowly cooked for hours that is for sure better than any Texas BBQ you ever had. Also if you like pork ask for "Karađorđeva Šnicla" rolled slowly cooked pork with kajmak inside. It's 2 best ways to eat meat but it's bit more expensive than regular street food.

Teletina ispod saca is also a Serbian dish. Karadjordjeva snicla, too. And ajvar has been a Serbian dish for centuries, due to historical sources. And yes, countries neighbouring Serbia does eat a lot of Serbian food and prepare Serbian dishes, that's because there are ethnical Serbs living in those countries, so they prefer Serbian recipes in everyday life.
