I just got a second hand set up. I think I got this scenario. I have a capacitor on the esc that got hot quickly. I probably tried it 3 times on the throttle on the bench for about 15-30 seconds. Is that enough to damage the esc/motor please?

I'm here because I searched CZcams for 'noisy brushless motor' in an attempt to figure out why my wood stove's blower motor was making a noise sounding like the blades were hitting the metal sides. I already knew the rheostat (speed controller) was faulty, but had no idea IT could be the cause of the extra noises. Thanks for making this video. I'll replace the rheostat and keep the motor/blades.

My Sidewinder ESC started cogging and I traced it to the plugs. Cleaned it, ran it for a bit fine, then every time it flipped over or came to a stop, it started cogging. I never had any issues like this before. I’m thinking I need to try a more durable ESC.

Hey I have a problem with my sensored motor in my touring car. it works like it should most of the time, it can slowly start up without cogging and so on. But if I pull the car backwards and slowly get on the throttle, it shouts out backwards even if there is sensors and everything to prevent this happening. Do you think something is wrong or is this normal???

My brand new motor/ESC were a matched pair and it initially worked fine but developed the same stuttering after a very short time. I returned the motor/esc to the supplier and they tested it and found it worked OK and sent me a video to prove it. I told them that it was their problem and should do more testing as it appears to work but then starts stuttering again. Still waiting to hear from them after many days.

Thank You! I ran out of talent newish flyer trying to complete a roll. Went to flick toggle switch to switch on the gyro nothing and I stuffed it nose first into the ground! (Helps if you flick the correct toggle switch!) I had exactly this as in the demo. Sure enough checked the three wires between esc & motor looked fine, but double checked after watching your Video and one of the (3) wires to the motor had been detached! After extensive nose rebuild (pusher prop plane ) back in the air straight away. I'd started to question if I hadn't throttled back after the impact and burnt the motor/esc out, but I had! Just a loose wire Thank You!

Hello so my rc car have quite the same problem so i checked all the connectors as you showed but they are good.
If i put throttle when all four wheels of the rc car are in the air it spins normally but it doesnt seem like full power and if i put rc car to the ground and press throttle it doesnt move it sound like it is lagging but if i push the rc car and press throttle then it moves and drives but it goes very slow (before that problem it was going around 40km/h)
I hope you understand the problem and i am very sorry for my bad english because i have a bad knowledge in this language.
Let me know if the problem is salvable, thanks.

Not sure what my issue was. 1/8 scale buggy, new ESC, used 1900kv motor, new sensor wire. First time out, ran fine. Second time out it stopped working. Motor wouldn’t move with throttle input. However if I pushed the car then gave it throttle it worked fine (until it came to a stop again). I ended up getting a new motor and have had no issues. What could it be? I did take the motor apart and saw there was dirt on the sensor board? Could that have shorted the sensors out?

    • @danbekistan

    • @digitalguy7859

I cleaned it all with alcohol but haven’t tried it again. So, I think the motor was the issue. First though check your sensor cable.

what is the problem if the motor works by itself, it depends on how I connect the three thick wires on the motor, sometimes the motor spins forward, sometimes backward, but I, and when I press the throttle, the motor brakes instead of turning the wheels forward, I have programmed the controller several times, is it it is possible that the ESC is dead, because the engine is running, or something else is involved?

Sounds normal to me. The magnets in the motor do interact with the iron core on the stator. If you feel it notchy with steps of stiffnes as you rotate the motor, this is normal. Check Temps when you run the rc.
