Nice! Diamond Braid Emerger ...AKA "Sparkle Butt" LOL! Don't no why a lot of people shy away from dubbing loops - I use them all the time, often making composite loops with a couple of materials (body, flash and collar) in one loop. On this fly I would have loaded the CDC and the rabbit into one loop, just lazy I guess - one loop or two, either way works fine. Thanks for posting! Cheers!
I checked out your website and I found that the prices are a LITTLE bit higher than I'm used to paying, however the ammount of materials is a LOT more than what I'm used to getting. I would say in some cases especially with the CDC feathers it's over 2 to 3 times the amount for around $2 more.
Those prices are in Canadian dollars. It is .74 USD for every 1 CAD. Plus, things just cost more in Canada. A significantly higher percentage of consumer products are made in their country, which means higher cost. I would happily pay 2.00 for a fly if i know it was made in the States (or Canada) and not some Vietnamese sweatshop.
Hey Randy! Yes, my site is all in Canadian dollars, it will convert at checkout, i try to keep all my prices very fair. If theres something you would like send me an email theflyfiend1@gmail.com
This is indeed a subsurface fly, i personally like to go as heavy as possible on jig hooks, im usually fishing them deep or fast water and when setting the hook i want to have a piece of mind that im driving the hook into the top of the mouth and not having to worry about bending hooks out.
What a BANGER Pattern Mate !!!!!!
Merci

Looks good for Brachycentridae American Grannom pupae in the spring.
I tied this fly and tried it this weekend. Wow this thing was awesome I got my biggest cutthroat ever. Thanks
Nice little bug there Jake. I don’t have that shiny tubing so I’ll have to figure out a workaround. Thank you for another one dude.
Thanks! Im sure you will make it work! Goodluck
I would use the thread split technique for the CDC and rabbit dubbing in order to create less thread bulk behind the bead.
Yes, that work well too! tying commercially its just faster for me to whip up a loop than trying to split thread and possibly fray threads etc.
Jake, sweet looking bug! Thanks!
Thanks Joe!

Appreciate it !
Oh man, this looks dangerous!!! 😁😁😁
Excellent. Are the braid and the black bead both buoyant? Does it require a lightweight hook in order to float?
This fly is subsurface and the bead will assist the fly in sinking, not floating. But that is the intended purpose of this variety of flies.
