  • Virtually any style of bike is available as an e-bike. But once you know which style you're looking for, how do you pick the best electric version? Val covers the key decision points in choosing an e-bike including the three e-bike classes and what to look for in a motor and in a battery.
    If you're not sure which style of bike is right for how you like to ride, watch Val's video on how to choose a bike: • How to Choose a Bike |...

    We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. czcams.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

    We bought three of the Rad Power bikes, and we love them, but be aware of the fact that these bikes are heavy, I mean really heavy compared to a standard bike, like over 70 pounds heavy, so it's a problem if you use all the battery before you get home, at that point you get to pedal a 70 pound bike with no assist... possible but not fun to do.

      Absolutely! You're not the only one. As these bikes continue to rise in popularity, lots of people have questions. We're happy this video helped to demystify. If you want to continue the conversation, reach out to one of our experts, in-store, or virtually. bit.ly/2QUujfV

    Wooo thanks Val! What brand have you found is only 25lbs? That would be ideal for me but the lightest I've found so far is 50lb. Thanks!

    You can still ride an ebike even if the battery dies.At least with Class 1 you can.If you bring your ebike to Canada,Class 3 are considered a motor bike so you need plates/insurance/helmet.

    I don't want to pedal. I want more power.

  • @aa240sx

    uh - you're going to want to edit at 5:43 - more pedal assist longer range, less pedal assist shorter range. you guys said the opposite. I'm only commenting this as the videos been posted for 25 minutes, so fix it! you're welcome!

      Pedal assist is the term used for electric assist so the video is right

    • @aa240sx
      @aa240sx Před 2 lety +2

      @@gl4989 wrong - she said, 'the more pedal assist you use, the lower the range' pedal assists the electric motor increasing range if you pedal. you are wrong. If you are right, then why bother pedalling at all.

    • @robopecha
      @robopecha Před 2 lety +1

      @@aa240sx denying what a term means does not make it wrong. you can repeat yourself over and over, its not changing anything. instead you can just admit that you did not know the term. theres no problem with that.

    • @aa240sx
      @aa240sx Před 2 lety +1

      @@robopecha you're right, but as this is an instructional video. It's still confusing. Pedal assist could mean electric or it could mean to assist the motor with your pedals.
