Behind the Curtain with Qian Zhang, actor in SBMT's MARY POPPINS

Qian Zhang plays the role of "Mrs. Corry" in South Bay Musical Theatre's spring 2024 production of MARY POPPINS. In this five-minute interview, she discusses her character, who has a much bigger role in the musical than in the original 1964 Disney movie. Qian explains what a "Talking Shop" is, and tells us how rehearsals are going. She compares her non-speaking role in SBMT's last show, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, with this central character who drives the energetic production of "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." We also see the initial sketches for costumes by Y. Sharon Peng and set concepts by Justin Kelley-Cahill, and hear a bit of Qian's favorite song from the show.
