Prokofiev sounds just like I thought he would.
He sounds the opposite of what I thought he would
I expected him to have a higher voice
Shostakovich was a surprise to me 😳
I expected shosty to have a deeper voice......
It surprised me as well
He is Harry Potter what did you expect?
It threw me off the first time I saw it too, but this recording makes him sound a lot higher pitched. There's a recording on CZcams called Shostakovich Speaks with Rozhdestvensky preserves the sound better, although he his a lot older.
I heard exactly what i expected, a nerdy voice.
Why?
Shostakovich and Prokofiev had the clearest voices. And Ralph V. Williams looks like actor Brian Keith!
Those conducting had such personal styles, unlike those of today
Thank you so very much for these intriguing pieces of these famous historical composers! Thank you, B.B! (Big smile)
the way shosty just finished and quickly turned around then just started speaking like he was on helium kinda creeped me out-
Just wonderful.
Thank you for this! It's so cool! 🥰🥰🥰
Ouah Maurice Ravel au piano fantastique !!! et Camille Saint-Saëns à la baguette !!!
this is outstanding!!
Sibelius sounds MENACING
If anyone speaks Russian, please translate what Tchaikovsky said. He doesn’t sound happy 😂
do you have the orig link?
@@titakaatanov7334 in the video description I put all the links
actually, it doesn't sound Russian, exept first phrase.
but also mb i becoming deaf XD
@@titakaatanov7334 I forgot this one. Will add it czcams.com/video/7DEEdFLjUiw/video.html
@@titakaatanov7334 and the quality is very poor
Faltan otros compositores como Poulenc, Falla, Turina, Guridi, Mompou, Rodrigo.....seguro que debe haber registros de ellos
🤩
I always love how bored Richard Strauss looks when conducting the orchestra. By that time, he'd been doing music for what, 70-80 years?
I have a friend who's in love with Shostakovich so I had to send this
The person playing Claire de Lune is not Debussy. It's Suzanne Godenne.
Debussy played that on piano reels.
@@violinistoftaupo He did make piano rolls, but this is not one of them. The roll in this video is by Suzzanne Godenne: czcams.com/video/Hq4WG9vf3_0/video.html
Tchaikovsky?????? what????????? lolll
You picked almost all Russian (not the whole video was Russian)famous composer nice
Rachmaninoff is my favorite composer of all time ❤️
@@BreddyBang I like Rachmaninoff but Liszt is my absolute favorite
Same, I also like Schumann
Harry Potter
Can anyone who speaks French please translate what Messiaen was saying? I’m very curious!
1st excerpt :
(not Messiaen) "...and C ; that is to say, the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 first measures up to the crotchet without breathing, that would be perfect, wouldn't it?"
Messiaen : "if need be, they can breathe after the 4th quaver."
2nd excerpt: "[...], bassoons, contrabassoons, all the deepest timbres of the orchestra. And this theme seems to be welling up from the ground, welling up from the deepness"
3rd excerpt: "[...], clarinet, flute, play this theme melodically, in a quite simple and stripped down way, with no harmonization whatsoever, as a monody."

Thank you so much!! I appreciate you translating. ☺️
What is the name of the piece that Strauss is conducting after he speaks?
Der Rosenkavalier Waltz
It looks like in the orchestra suite it's the last waltz. (There are a few waltzes before.)
What a pitty that there are no women in this video; the footages are great!
Thank you for this work.
Heres a puccini voice recording
