  • Visitors to Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland are saying goodbye to giant pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang ahead of their journey back to China.
They have lived in the UK since 2011 but will be returning to China in December.
Preparations are under way to safely send them home, but for security reasons, the date of their departure will be kept under wraps.
The pair were originally only supposed to stay for 10 years, but the unique loan deal was extended due to the Covid pandemic.

Pandas are glorious: they teach us that you can eat all day and sleep the rest of the day and there is no guilt involved. Human beings could learn much from the average panda. 🐼

The fact the male panda had testicular cancer and was turned into a eunuch panda to save him probably has to do something with the fact no cub was born as well

A sad loss, but hopefully the Pandas will be replaced by others.

So, they eat only one type of food, have difficulty breeding and are naturally surrounded by a people who will eat almost anything. Hats off to the panda, I’m amazed there are any left.
