I also owned a Ver R... Indeed, this is one of the best JDM...
It was supposed to be the answer to Hondas VTEC, and went to compete against the Integra Type-R. However It only just fell short in competitive performance to the Type-R, but was superior to almost everything else in its class. I was lucky to own a GPvR myself, they are fun little pocket rockets to drive, and the sound they make is fantastic.
Still looking for my GPvR, so hard to find these days in mint condition.

underrated blah blah blah. the 2.0 V6 sounds great. they made several iterations of the FTO and finally a Version R spec. Mitsubishi failed to close the gear ratios for the SPEC R trim. This thing should be geared like an Integra. this is why this and the Celica SS-III failed at the track
