I used to play racing games competitively and was one of the best in Mariokart Wii in the world. Had a VR rating of 9999 and several time trial world records (that have since surpassed by others). But I never could even get good at SA2. What wizardry is this?
Pretty sure you can skip the entire second mountain rail section by jumping off the rails at the second corner to the left, where the rails from the second to the third mountain run alongside but other than that good run.
I like how you didn't use the (at the time) well known shortcut where you could hop to the rail on the left and skip some of the stage @ 0:24 THIS is how you get an A-Rank in SA2, it was never about having the best time, it was about the points.
I never knew that there was an alternate Route in that area. Damn SA2's level design is riddled with Secrets everytime I come back to see a SA2 video. Comparing It to Forces's level design, even If Forces is a boost game, makes that game even more laughable than It already is and makes me Wonder How tf SEGA screw up a concept they almost mastered more than 15 years Ago.
I decided to watch this level because one cyberspace level in Sonic Frontiers is literally this.
Literally the same thing that brought me here
Same here I had to prove the layout of 2-6 to someone
2-6
im just wondering if its homage or just lazy. Its even weirder because its a shadow level and they just slapped a green hill skin on it.
This is the best version of shadow

So happy they brought it back for Cyber Space

*HUT HUT HUT HUT HUT*
I’ve just been binging SA2 level runs this whole morning, I’ve never felt this much nostalgia pretty much ever.
you can tell that sky rail is close to pumpkin hill
Keith Meya it’s the same area
@@Keurgui1 Same area but not the spooky night like Knuckles' stage in the heroes story.
They're the same area, except Shadow is there during the daytime.
@@Keurgui1 Except the ghosts don't get leery.
Isn't Red Mountain near this Pumpkin Hill and Sky Rail?
The speed and rails in this version look more fluid than frontiers
Yep but rail grinding in sa2 was weird to control
Yeah frontiers sonic looks so slow without the aid of his boost, boost pads, springs, and grind rails.
Frontiers' version of Sky Rail is pretty boring since this stage was made with rail physics and balance in mind.
@@rick-sd2hz that was mostly the fault of steam ports, the joystick controls on rails wasn't optimised correctly for PC. on Dreamcast, and even the OG Gamecube version, the rails are perfectly manageable, you just have to nudge it bit by bit to one side instead of holding it in a direction
Sky rail - pumpkin hill(day)
How the hell does one get an A-Rank on this...
+Aaron Warner With a lot of practice, timing & collecting more kills.
The Art of Not Sucking 😂
I mean, the dude playing was really good. The game is wrong(?)
Don't go super fast. Like try killing as many enemies as possible and jumping at the end of all rails.
I went shadows light speed attack route since there's enemies there

And Frontiers is a boost game
I’m not trying to knock that game down, just a simple observation
thats cause the sonic frontiers stage took this and added some to it.
thats because
1)the rail physics are different
2) the boost is slower than the spindash
Well, coming back to this, Frontiers might actually be faster now

I fucking love the fandub
Man starting around here I began to realize how jank rail grinding was before boost made them automatic

Shadow was so young in Adventure.

For real, as a kid I had anxiety and just sa2 and also (surprisingly) sonic 06 helped me from some of the stress coming with it

I'm extremely good at SA2 but Absolutely fucking suck at Mario Kart
I feel like theres a way to beat this level and only spend 5 second of time on the ground....
