Thanks so much for clearing this up for me. I am opiate dependent, currently on Suboxone. The only reason I have used Imodium is because when I stop using opiates I get really bad diarrhea because I'm used to the digestive slowing effect of the opiate being in my system. That's what i was guessing people might be using it for but not 50 to 300 pills. Now I get it. I think it's just ludicrous to suggest that opiate users could actually get high off of Imodium A.D. I mean we would be way beyond that point, if it even did cause a mild high in some people but I doubt it. If you haven't tried it and are able to access Kratom for withdrawal it works amazingly well. I have even used it for extended periods for maintenance. I love getting tips and information on here but I kind of worry about people sharing about their off-label pill use online, because some lawmaker is going to compile it all and use it to prove their point (that addicts are not using health care products as directed). Then they will use that to take these tools away from us. But yet information sharing is powerful and idk what the answer is. I understand and believe in the way that you have used Loperamide. It is not extreme and could save lives if people are able to cope with withdrawal. people just don't understand. I believe we should be able to weigh the risks and benefits, especially if using something with such low abuse potential. Good luck with everything.

As a nurse and surgeons wife on long term fentanyl, morphine and oxynorm I assure you that I’ve seen patients who have abused these, regularly taking 100-500pills a day long term, they all describe that they have a psychoactive reaction such as those experienced with regular opioid highs, however that’s in extreme very high doses. They’re generally abused because they help with opioid withdrawal. It is absolutely possible and more common than you think that addiction sufferers can and will experience a high with extreme doses though. I’m so sorry you have been cut off from your pain meds. My husband turned down the career offer of a lifetime in the states teaching cardiothoracic surgery to med students in 2021 as if we moved there I would struggle to access my meds. Iv thankfully never abused them so I’m not addicted, but my body is dependant and although I will thankfully never have to stop taking them (my illness will claim my life before that’s required as im terminal now) from professional and personal experience. I’d understand how desperate sufferers are, both pain patients and addicts to avoid withdrawal that it’s not so difficult that they’d do anything to avoid it. I had a breakdown and suicide attempt when I was 24 due to my severe 24/7 pain being so uncontrolled, I’ve been on those 3 opioids for over 7 year now and although not everyone is helped long term effectively, I’m very lucky that they do work for me. I’m not pain free but I have a quality of life (albeit going to be shortened) I could have only dreamed of before. I’m back at work part time, I can drive again (DVLA aware) and live a somewhat normal existence. It breaks my heart how many people in the states are cut off the way you describe. And if we moved there I’d be the same, hence why he refused the promotion. I know this was a few year ago but I truly hope you are doing a little better now ❤
People dependant on opiates are using imodium or loperamide which is if fact an opiate but in small doses doesn't cross blood brain barrier but at high doses it relieves opiate wd symptoms. Someone tolerant to opiate can easily take 100 of these daily and have normal bowel movements. Its actually helping people get off stronger opiates by getting them thru withdrawal more comfortably.
I'm an Vicodin addict. I love them, I love the fact that they take my pain away or at least to a level where I can do things. But my dr just doesn't understand that. I started taking them for the pain I had in my right leg due to a blood clot and for the 4 blood clots I had in my lungs. Then I had surgery on my right ankle for a torn tendon and ligament. But as bad and desperate withdrawal makes me I would not do the Imodium. I work hard to get regular from the meds I take, I want my poop out, not in.
Kimberly Belles LOL "I want my poop out not in".... LMAO! Same here, same here... I take prescribed dilaudid which is 8X stronger than morphine and 3X stronger than oxycodone for bulging discs, sciatica, systemic inflammatory disease, spinal stenosis and torn miniscus in both knees. I can't live without pain meds and the lesser opioids don't work because of tolerance, they have to roll out the big boys on me. I seriously doubt "diarrhea medicine" would do anything for my pain LOL! Not to mention, the damage to one's heart from Loperamide is not worth whatever benefit it offers...
These asshats are the reason everything is backwards for us people whom need these medicines. People need to stop worrying what I put in my own damn body.
And BTW every drug that's restricted or prohibited causes more dangerous agents to be used/abused recreationally. Time the pointless & destructive war on drugs was replaced with empirically determined policy. Less psychopaths & corruption, less needless suffering & death. Except it's more sensational to focus on recreational drugs than equally powerful licit ones, ain't it?
If doctors would prescribe opioids and do their job to stop people from suffering this wouldn't be a problem. God gave us opiates and opioid receptors for a reason.
This story is absolutely 100 percent true, i have a friend that goes from store to store buying every single box on the shelf, he said he likes it better than suboxone
I have to take it because of my diarrhea and I take about 10 per day. People that take it just to get high are crazy. I have a lot of digestive issues plus I have MS.
Mz. Talley-Dancy Thank you! I was a very good school teacher and then the doctor took my script and I ended up doing illegal stuff to obtain more pills and now I can't work like ever again. Also my cousin was given opiates and when the doctor took them away he bought heroin, used it, and died. You don't just pull the rug out from under people. Yes we make bad decisions but we do them under quite a bit of duress caused by these doctors
The side effects aren’t really pleasant at all... it takes about 1hr30-2hrs to start working it’s really a good feeling good high and it’s like 0.1$ in my country one of the cheapest... and at the end of the day you experiences the urge to vomit, your belly would be playing tours, you won’t even feel like eating even if in some cases u do you wont be able to eat due to urge to vomit, bellyache, stomach sore, dry mouth n throat....if you take 10pills today at 4-5pm you’ll be still high the next morning when you wake up...do not recommend it.
It is known that addicted opium users have severe constipation problem , now I know why imodium stopped my diarrhea so fast . There is a joke about opium users who get constipated , one was staying in the public restroom too long not able to dump his shit ,the guy outside yelled get out I shitted in my pants , constipated guy yelled back lucky you! btw I didn't feel high or something like that
Nope people take it to eliminate withdrawals from pain meds and no it doesn’t get you high but it can get you off opioids if that’s your goal and it stems from people who have had the prescribed pain meds that they need for sever pain daily and don’t abuse them , these people have been cut off cold Turkey !

Someone tolerant to opiate can easily take 100 of these daily and have normal bowel movements. Its actually helping people get off stronger opiates by getting them thru withdrawal more comfortably.
@@brittaolson6550 That does happen.
@@suboxboy1 yo purple drank much better than lope
@@suboxboy1 will they show up on a drugs test? If they do is that OK as there over the counter medication?
no one uses that to get high, they use it to kick from heroin. the withdrawal symptoms aren't so severe supposedly.
Stanky Fish Gutz are you saying withdrawals symptoms aren't bad, if so, you just don't know
@@tommy2guns591hes saying the withdrawal are minimal when you take Imodium
You have to take massive amounts to get any sort of high. At high doses like that it can be fatal
Also you will never go to the bathroom again in this life time if you take 300 Imodium!
YOU DON'T GET HIGH! IT'S TO STOP WITHDRAWALS BUT JUST SMOKE WEED.
Kimberly Belles
LOL "I want my poop out not in"....
You are all sorts of fucked up. Damn
What about the people huffing computer duster?? People who take this (not myself) I'm told HELP ease the withdrawals from opiates.
the docters name is dr crackour
And BTW every drug that's restricted or prohibited causes more dangerous agents to be used/abused recreationally. Time the pointless & destructive war on drugs was replaced with empirically determined policy. Less psychopaths & corruption, less needless suffering & death. Except it's more sensational to focus on recreational drugs than equally powerful licit ones, ain't it?
If doctors would prescribe opioids and do their job to stop people from suffering this wouldn't be a problem. God gave us opiates and opioid receptors for a reason.
Just thinking of the constipation I couldn't do it
So... constipation for days on end. Check.Note to self: I don't need a note to self to avoid this.
That is just crazy
Wouldn't that make you really constipated?
Geez, these people must not take a dump for weeks 😂
This story is absolutely 100 percent true, i have a friend that goes from store to store buying every single box on the shelf, he said he likes it better than suboxone

It's a back up, lol. When you can't get what you need. To each, its own.
Ya but it's pretty dangerous and the side effects are terrible tbh I almost would take the wd tbh Imodium sucks
It does Cross the BBB, then it's immediately expelled by p-glycoprotein.. however you can take a pgp inhibitor to keep it in the BBB..
I have to take it because of my diarrhea and I take about 10 per day. People that take it just to get high are crazy. I have a lot of digestive issues plus I have MS.
fernamdo cruz they poop little pink cupcakes.
Taking 2 will cause constipation. Imagine 300 at once for a high = never poop again.
Wow, they’re gonna get some serious constipation LOL

Really interesting comments down below (for a change). Sounds like this "news" story has some holes in it.
I agree! I’m relieved that there are still critical thinkers in this society.
I got high and I've not pooped in 6 months
I blame doctors for putting on opiods then snatching them away instead of ween them off. Ridiculous misuse of a needed products.
@@brittaolson6550 Amen!!!
7 years ago and I think we are safe 😂
The answer to all this honestly is going out a getting a huge bottle of alcohol 80 proof on the rocks with your favorite side.
SCOTT WHAT??????
WTF lol took this the other day lol never thought you could high on Imodium
What now are you addict?
Bruh these people not be crapping for like 5 years
I hear baclofen can be used to ease the addiction withdrawl effects of alcohol , opioids etc , just do some research
freddykugr yea but Phenibut is better you have to have a prescription for baclofen and doctors aren’t very nice even if you are struggling
@@salmaanoly1562 Baclofen you mean?
wait are they not just really constipated
Loperimide doesn't cross the blood brain barrier according to Wikipedia.
If the corruption of the government wasn’t so bad, we wouldn’t see shit like this... Hell 3 pure sleeping pills used to give me the best euphoria.
Pure?
300 pills? You wouldn't be able to shit for a month.
i just need immodium for bad sushi xD
It's like they never want to shit again LMFAO
LOL!!!!! This news story is so ridiculous. They are ignorant af. 😂😂😂 that's like getting high on banana peels in the 60s due to yellow submarine.
Bananadine is no joke it will fuck you up
You wont shit for months after a shot of that ffs...lol
That's crazy for some dierria meds
It is known that addicted opium users have severe constipation problem , now I know why imodium stopped my diarrhea so fast . There is a joke about opium users who get constipated , one was staying in the public restroom too long not able to dump his shit ,the guy outside yelled get out I shitted in my pants , constipated guy yelled back lucky you! btw I didn't feel high or something like that
I take Imodium for the shits I can’t imagine taking it for fun?
Going to get me some of that, right now. That is a lot of pills, hell nah.
LOL. Never shit again.
Oh yeah , take a large dose of this to get high and you'll be really constipated too !!! 🤔
Ok I haven't shit for 6 months but I'm not sick
Let's tell the public why not
Nope people take it to eliminate withdrawals from pain meds and no it doesn’t get you high but it can get you off opioids if that’s your goal and it stems from people who have had the prescribed pain meds that they need for sever pain daily and don’t abuse them , these people have been cut off cold Turkey !
This is a commercial for imodium... loperamide doesn't break the blood brain barrier and can't get you high... nice try at trying to get people to but your medication though.
Charles M lmao it def does, from experience
For fuck's sake.
If they just legalized grass all this shit would stop.
Lean man lean
If you have taken 300 pills of Imodium you really need the advice of Rain Florence :)
What? Oh my.
Take immodium & if you become constipated take a Laxative🔄
Ok I never knew this was even a thing
It’s not.
It’s not really, all about TV channel ratings and fuck the truth

The real story should be about all the suits getting drugs and keeping the drugs illegal.
The real criminals wera suits everyday.
lol nobody does this... ive heard of using it for withdrawals in as a last resort
BHunterBMW335iS this is part of the government plan there trying to get rid of products that eases withdrawals. Now there after Gabapentin. Hmmm I wonder why. Gov is demented ppl.
I seen idiots do this personally! People will do ANYTHING to not be dope sick!
Will Moore Sure, to not be dope sick but not to get high. These news people's need to GTFOH with that noise.
So people really risking shitting their pants for a high? Damn our society is really fucked up
24 tablets are like $12 now 😅 ... I has diarrhea though 😂
you gotta be shitin me!
This killed my best friend Rest in peace Evan Brown. Don't start using loperamide in any form to get high or come off opiates
It doesn't get you high anyway and anyone trying to get high from it will end up overdosing because it does not work.
Yes it does I've used it many times to get rid of withdrawls you would be surprised
Derrick Tally sorry about your Friend Bud.... How many was he Taking ??
Derrick Tally
I don’t know how this alone could have killed him. I have a medical background and your friend would have to have a mass of secondary and concurrent conditions ?
Derrick Tally Imodium is also very addictive when taking 30 or more pills a day all at one time. I can't stand the withdrawal from it. It's caused me to have congestive heart failure but I don't know how to quit. The withdrawal are bad and I've come off of some bad stuff in my 25 years of addiction. Scared to death
Can’t say I’d want to try that
How was it?
They mean getting right not high lol😅
Dr Crackhour! 😂 (aka spelt Krakower)
this video didn’t tell me how to get high on the imodium. misleading title
So how many would you need to take to get high?...I'm asking for a friend....
Lord Danker about 300 stay away
