  • The Piaggio Liberty S scooter is a motorcycle styled scooter with enough scoot to not only move you and a passenger within town, but outside of town on faster roads as well! Check it out in person by connecting with the great people from Jim Gilbert's PowerSports! powersports.wheelsanddeals.ca...

    Modern scooters are incredibly fun and economical, I also agree having a quiet bike is a big stress relief and a quality of life improvement.

    I wish that Piaggio could extend the floor space bigger for riders to use for errands with better ease. When I rode Japanese scooters with smaller wheels, I could tuck my laundry basket into floor space and put my old dog in the basket for a joyride in the sunny days. I could also put carry-on suitcase on floor space to send my friend to bus terminal to airport.

    I noticed you said you can fit a full face helmet under the seat. But I find that it’s a bit too small. Perfect for a half helmet. The official piaggio top case fits my full face helmet perfectly though. But at least it has the underseat pegs to hang two helmets when parked. Definitely comes in handy.

    Thanks for the video from Kelowna BC! This looks perfect when I don't want to take car but it's too far for the electric bike that will do 30 kph tops! I am interested in range, mpg, top speed etc. With 6 litre tank, it must have pretty good range.

    Peter, do you have just a minute for a couple odd questions about this bike?
    I’m looking at buying a couple accessories for a friend who has this bike. I’m not familiar with it so I need help.
    I see that it has the two foot center stand but does it have a normal one foot kickstand/ side stand?
    I want to get my friend one of those footy plate things that she can put on the ground under the kickstand so it doesn’t sink into soft dirt and fall over.
    If this Liberty S doesn’t have a single stand, I don’t think I’ll get her two footy things. Probably more hassle than it’s worth, ya know? haha
    Let me know if you have any suggestions. It’s for a dear friend who I want to be as happy and safe as possible. Maybe something else besides cheap little kickstand thingys? My budget is okay at the moment. I just don’t know much about these scooters.
    Is there anything that you would get for a friend who has the bike?
    Thanks for your time. Merry Christmas. ✌️

  • @1966johnnywayne

    I love the flat footwell of the Liberty...my Honda PCX150 lacks this feature, but provides a much more comfortable riding position with the "highway peg" option, which I find also helps in maneuvering.

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Před rokem

      Yeah, the Piaggio and Vespa share a drivetrain, but the design differences go beyond style. That flat floor can be helpful if you like to carry a bag or something else between your feet on the floorboard.

    • @scrambler69-xk3kv
      @scrambler69-xk3kv Před 9 měsíci

      Trust me a flat floor is the ticket. I have a scooter with a flat floor and when I go to the store, I put a gallon of milk under the seat and things like laundry soap or a gallon of water in say a Walmart bag sits on the floor like he said and your feet on either side keeps it right where it needs to stay. I also have a top box and in it I put things like a loaf of bread. They are so practical. I just wish I had a dealer near me because I would buy one of these in a heartbeat. Yes, I like my Honda, but I really like the looks of this scooter.

    I really appreciated this video. I test rode one of these over the weekend and as attracted as I am to the Vespa Scooters, I've decided that the price point ($2500.00 less than Vespa) of this thing especially considering it uses the same engine makes this scooter a tremendous value. I wasn't sure about the larger wheels at first but I do agree that it made leaning into corners really fun which is nice in Colorado. The flat footwell and storage in this thing are great and generous. I do like how quiet this thing is which is nice for overall awareness. This really is a great way of getting into a well made high performing scooter for not much more than the price of a Chinese scooter as long as the dealer fees don't knock you out of the park. The dealer was able to give me another $250.00 off the Scooter which was greatly appreciated.

      I think, with anything with a small tank, you just have to go slow. Instead of putting the nozzle right in, you just have to go slow and watch things. There's a technique to filling anything with a small tank.

    What's the difference between a touring scooter and in the city scooter?

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Před 10 měsíci

      Vespa has a package called "Touring" that adds some luggage and a small windshield. In my mind a touring scooter would have enough power for at least secondary highways, and be comfortable enough to go for all day rides with enough cargo space to take a day trip's worth of gear.

    No one talks about height seat.

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Před rokem +1

      Seat height isn't too bad. Keep in mind, with a scooter you can step in front of the seat in a stop. A motorcycle seat height can't be changed, but a shorter person can stand over the front footboards at a stop without an issue.

    • @1966johnnywayne
      @1966johnnywayne Před rokem

      @@PeterLoweOne Motorcycle seat height can be lowered by changing out the "Dog Bone" and lowering the fork clamp setting. But with most bikes it's less about the height and more about the width (comfort) of the seat forcing your legs to splay out a bit.
