1. Work toward your goals
Her first professional event was at the age of 14. She lost in the first round of qualifying to Annie Miller, winning just two games.
2. Never give up
Ranked world No. 304, she upset world No. 7 Mary Pierce and world No. 4 Monica Seles.
3. Stay calm
She became the world No. 1 for the first time on July 8, 2002.
4. #Believe in yourself
As of July 18, 2016, she has been ranked world No. 1 for 179 consecutive weeks, seven weeks shy of Steffi Graf's record.
5. Always aim to improve
She holds the most major singles, doubles, and mixed doubles titles combined amongst active players.

She's an inspiration to all people who aspire to become a better version of themselves. She has an huge impact on me in my younger year, seriously. Long story short. I'm denturist now and aspiring to become dentist. Never to old to educate yourself.

Personally, she is the greatest athlete of my generation. Above Woods, Federer, CR7, LeBron and Messi. As great as they all are. She stands above all of them. We didn't have Ali, Jordan, Gretzky or Jesse Owens. The money is immaterial, the journey is the greatest testament to her success.
How can a black women from Compton dominate in a sport which historically requires expensive training. Her hitting court was the cracked pavements of Compton not a Beverly Hill country club. No privilege, training or support. Except from her father, whose own story is unbelievable. Plus, to face the ridicule for her strength by jealous opponents who simply could not compete. Tennis is skill above strength, just look at Federer. What disgusting behaviour from so called tennis advocates. Her serve and groundstroke motion could be compared to poetry.
What she has achieved inspires me everyday. One of the most overlooked athletes of all time. Certainly one of the most underrated athletes of all time. She should be in every conversation about the greatest of all time. We will never forget Serena. She transcended tennis.

My favorite was train hard!! Like she said there are days that she doesn't feel like training, but there's never a day that she feels like losing and I admire that so much. Talent needs to fed daily or someone hungrier will eat you alive. I am yet to find another female athlete as hungry as Serena Williams still is!! She's in a leauge of her own. She's the only reason that I was into watching tennis as a kid lol #BTA 1

Believe in yourself. I like what Serena said about believing in oneself and being one's own cheer leader.

Also I absolutely love that she said that she doesnt put a number on her goal, she just says she wants to do something and then just goes for it. That was a big eye opener for me.
