Imagine a small supernatural subplot where the Delta Gundam mysteriously haunts combat simulations as an unknown enemy that always appears even when no one actually programmed it into the simulator along with other unexplained things happening. Like some sort of Gundam creepypasta but for the mobile suit pilots and mechanics.

Make me wonder how well the Delta Gundam would've preformed once the tech caught up and they fixed the flaw.
Should be similar to the Z+ family on earth as a high speed air superiority fighter and a REZEL in space with the same role.
I think the delta plus is basically that, but there was a unit 2 that existed not sure if that one was using new technology.
After the success of the Delta Plus, someone refined the design further into the Delta Kai and mounted the n_i_t_r_o system on it.
Think EXAM and HADES without the nasty side effects.

This is very much appreciated, since I cannot find any English sources.
The Delta line is probably one of my favorite MS lines in the entire metaverse. How they couldn't incorporate the greatest features into one ms and had to settle for two separate units. Also Chang looks cute here. Sad to see what happened to her in CCA.
I've always wondered what a functioning Delta vs the Zeta would be like. I have a nagging suspicion the Delta would eek it out but the Zeta is the "Hero" that seems the most revered in Universe with all the attempts to remake it.
You'd have to compare the Zeta Wave Shooter type vs Delta Plus.
Ah, one of my favorite units that was amazing in design but a failure on paper, which would then lead to my favorite variant, the Gundam Delta Kai. Shame the HGUC version has a lot to be desired with that sticker sheet!

I wish we can get a HGUC 2.0 of all the early Zeta project transformable MS. I think we can get a proper transforming HG of all of them.
to be fair no matter how it preforms when your transforming suit cant transform its a failure lol redesign will help and give it a new role but as designed no lol
The Delta Plus actually managed to make the Transformation Work - it's even capable of unassisted Atmospheric reentry as well.
The Delta Kai is a really cool looking unit that was developed from the Kai. It uses a Long Mega Buster, and can use a Beam Magnum without getting its arms blown off. It can mount a pile bunker, a machine cannon, or a HI-MEGA CANNON on the shield. It also comes mounted with two Fin Funnels. Now, thie interesting thing is that the Delta Kai isn't a Newtype-only MS. How do other people control the Fin Funnels?
The n_i_t_r_o system. It temporarily converts the pilot into a Cyber-Newtype. Of course this results in the pilot becoming unusuly aggressive and unstable due to the rewiring of their brain, but it's a hell of a lot better than its predecessors (EXAM, HADES.).
The GUNDAM Delta kai is one of my favorite gundams in the Universal Century. I love it's looks, the weapons, and the fact it completes the cycle of the Delta line as the perfected Delta Gundam. The NITRO system is very dangerous but cool to see blue flames emitted from the gundam itself. Let's not forget it can even shoot the powerful beam magnum without any trouble!!!! Now that's badass!!!!

We'd also need an MG version of the Delta Kai then. There's a new MG ver ka reveal on the 29th. Who knows, it might be a Delta.

Such a shame the Delta never came to be, its one of the nicest looking transformable MS designs to come out of the UC era.
The Delta Kai and Plus are cool too, but there's just something so striking about that original prototype Hyaku Shiki aesthetic.

Delta Kai is truly where it's at, in appearance and in performance. If only I could get the kit to have the Hyaku/Delta plated gold look.

Too bad that the Hyaku Shiki didn't use Delta Gundam's wave rider mode bcoz of the glitches found which causes structural frame fatigue. The same problem was seen in the prototypes of the Zeta Gundam. Kamille solved the problem by combining the Gundam Mk. 2's moveable frame with Rick Dias' Gundarium Gamma into the frame. The same solution was apply to Delta Gundam, but it was years after the Gryps Conflict by the time of the Laplace Affair of Gundam Unicorn. So then, Char/Quattro fought thru the Gryps War in a mobile suit that couldn't transform, while the Zeta Gundam hogged most of the glory of changing into & out of fighter/wave rider mode.
The problem was that the Delta line itself has supreme speed and and agility but very fragile.

I love the Delta Plus, in SRW Z3 I gave to Kamille while he was waiting for the Z back instead of the Idiot, and even after it served well as a squad mate.
My hope is that the Delta line (OG/Plus, but mainly Kai) get some sort of recognisable remake in Build Divers. Or a mook based on the ReZEL.

Londo Bell applied for an application to use Zeta Gundam in 2nd Neo Zeon War but the Federation said its missing despite they have the MS in their possession, but there's actually 4 Zeta Gundam that existed and one of them was designed for Amuro yet they didn't lend it and forced Amuro to use RGZ...
Who do you think the White Unicorn Zeta was? I know from the Moon Manga that Amuro was involved in further designing the Zeta Plus series and liked the Re-GZID but politicians liked the cheaper but weaker Re-GZ.
@@zacharyradford5552 White Zeta waa on First Neo Zeon War. And yes, he piloted that. Same with Zeta Plus, But Zeta Plus isn't meant for space use as it was meant for atmospheric flight. They were denied of the Zeta Gundam and Federation didn't assigned the Delta Plus on Londo bell in manga. So they were stuck in Re-GZ, and we know how expensive Re-GZ's back pack and what happened during the Second Neo Zeon War. It didn't perform well. Its the Federation that didn't allow Londo Bell to have any of the Zeta Gundams that can perform in space

Having played SRWV, I'd note that a lot of the opposing force pilots have a dim view of the Delta Plus itself, as opposed to its pilot Riddhe. It's a good mech really, like a true mass production Zeta, but opinions range from it being a poor man's Zeta clone or the result of a failed project that went over budget.
The Type-100 story and the entirety of the project that led to the Zeta is really fascinating. The Type-100 was the closest they got to a Zeta-like design before Kamille's contribution. There were other attempts at making movable-frame transformable units that didn't really work as well, like the transformable Rick Dom prototypes.

Delta Plus is nothing like the Zeta. In terms of speed and agility it’s superior but fragile. If you want a mass produced Zeta it’s the Zeta Plus and the Re-GZ lines.
@@zacharyradford5552 you're talking about the Methuss line, that's where the ReZEL is from, although the ReZEL did take its name from the ReGZ.
Only Build Fighters ever did anything with the ReGZ line, but model kit players can do whatever they want with system limitations that real technical staff can't, including make the BWS feasibly reusable once jettisoned.
IIRC they went back to the G-Defensor line instead, which was the source for the ReZEL's optional Defensor packs, not the BWS.

Delta plus was one my favorite designs from Unicorn. A idea for question of the week or perhaps a video subject, what was life/civilization like outside the earth sphere in (Universal Century) say between 0070s -0100s, basically any cities or colonies on mars or other further out to Jupiter
My two favorite suits are Zeta and Hyaku Shiki, seeing the Delta Plus in Unicorn is a really nice treat

I actually finished an HG Delta Plus a few days ago and was wondering why Anaheim even bothered producing any units since the Zeta was already leading the arms race. They might've done so due to the large funding from the Federation or to have as many units available amidst Char's Rebellion.
There were multiple teams responsible for each of the machines in the development line. As the Zeta and Delta only shared Gundam MK2 movable frame data not actual parts.

Former military mechanic checking in: can verify. Prototype vehicles in a fleet are a pain in the ass. Mass production vehicles are much easier to deal with, no matter how “cool” the prototype might be.
