I'm keeping a list of the ones I forgot and I'll include them in next week's QotW!
One thing I've seen pop up a few times is how in IBO most folks piloting the MS are civilians, but many of them belong to either private security groups or straight up pirate groups or the "mafia". So it's kinda like Gundam X or mercs, technically it can be correct, but it's not something for the average civilian. The Spinner Rodis I totally forgot about though.

This is from ibo gekko the astaroth was owned by a civilian family as a hariloom, and the owner of CGS had the barbatos under his name , not listed under a asset to his company it was just stored there.( It was hinted at by Yukinojo as well that Galerhorn did not know that a mobile suit was there, Galerhorn would have a database of private military to know the CGS assets going in to try capturing Kudelia.)

Considering that things like Space Pirates exist in some Gundam Timelines, a more Age of Sail kind of weapon usage, at least in space, could be in effect. Private Corporations, like Freight Haulers and Trading Companies, could be allowed to operate armed ships as well as Mobile Suits to defend themselves, just like Merchantmen back in the day were armed with Cannons and their crews with Muskets. Or to use Star Wars as an example: The Laser Turrets on the Millenium Falcon, whose stock version comes with these.
Of course, that doesn't apply to Private Citizens, but it is something I could see happen for Companies.

Like having an irl sense of development and 'livespan' for mobile suits. ie an ms can be used in service for over 40 years, given to other militaries when they're replaced with newer ms like how irl the us sold older f-15s,f-16s etc to other militaries worldwide

Used aircrafts require more maintenance and in the long run are more expensive than new ones. The real touch of realism that i would like is to have the ms painted in the appropriate camouflage pattern for their operational scenario, woodland/desert for ground units and black/digital black for space. In Gundam 00 there was an entire battle that was fought by workers in a mining facility using work loaders. Also if you read up on it, the Mobil suits used at the beginning of the 00 series were weapon used worker mobile suits. They were meant for construction but were weaponized because they were easily modified so small nations or militias would buy them and turn them into weaponized mobile suits.

In the latter, about 40 or something years pass after the events of the last DLC mission and not only has technology advanced to the point of creating fully functional commercial mobile suits for civilian use based on the franchise that can operate in outer space but they’ve also constructed fully operational space colonies based on the Universal Century’s design.
