Brahmapur to Puri In Unconventional Route

How about going to the good old Puri but add some new flavour to the journey? With our Royal Enfield Hunter 350 we planned for Puri from Brahmapur, a total 147 km distance via Janhikuda and Satapada availing the ferry service on Chilika Lake. Yesterday’s Mahendragiri trip was so hectic that we allowed ourselves some relaxation in the morning and changed our tour plan (which is never strictly fixed for bike trips) to take a shorter ride today only up to Puri. Main idea was to enjoy the beautiful roads across Chilika Lake and catch the 2 o’clock ferry service from janhikuda. We started late from Berhampur, at around 11:30 am. After crossing Chatrapur and Ganjam we took a right turn from Palur Junction and left the main highway which goes to Puri via Barkul or Rambha. The natural beauty of this 54 km road from Palur Junction to Janhikuda ferry ghat through Chilika Lake is sure to win the heart of every rider. This ferry service is the major mode communication for the people of that area. Not only 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers, but the public bus of the route brahmapur to Puri also boards this ferry. The 30-40 minutes journey on Chilika lake covering a distance of about 4 km from Janhikuda to Satapada ferry ghat is an experience of a lifetime. With some dolphin sighting is also possible here in Chilika. From Satapada Puri is another 50 kilometers. Before 3 km of Puri we took the new Puri bypass road which took us straight to Puri lighthouse avoiding the hustle & bustles of Swargadwar. Puri Lighthouse remains open for tourists from 4-5 pm. We reached at 4:30 and witnessed a beautiful sunset in Puri sea beach. Tomorrow we will start for Kapilas, another offbeat destination of Odisha. অসাধারণ, অভূতপূর্ব - এত মনছোয়া ভিডিও, সঠিক বিশেষন খুঁজে পাচ্ছিনা। পরিবেশনার মধ্যে ও কেমন এক নতুনত্বের ছোঁয়া। নতুন পথ ধরে চেনা পুরীকে পেলাম নতুনভাবে। লাইট হাউস, সমূদ্র সৈকত - মনের মত বিষয় সব। পথের সৌন্দর্য ভাষায় প্রকাশ করার মত শব্দ পাচ্ছি না। দুধারে চিল্কার উপস্থিতি- মাঝখান দিয়ে কি অপূর্ব পথ। প্রয়াগীর লাইট হাউস দূর্দান্ত। গরুমোষের দ্বীপ ভ্রমণ - দারুন মজার ব্যাপার। লাইট হাউস থেকে সূর্যাস্ত - অসাধারণ ও অভিনব বিষয়। অনেক অনেক ধন্যবাদ সুদুরের পিয়াসীরা। নতুন বছরে এই অসাধারণ উপহারের জন্য। দুশ্চিন্তা জর্জর মনটা জুড়িয়ে গেল। অনেক কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাই আপনাদের আন্তরিকতা ও অধ্যাবসায় কে। এই ভিডিও একবার দেখে মন ভরে না। আরও অনেকবার দেখবো। অনেক শুভকামনা রইলো আপনাদের জন্য।

ব্রহ্মপুত্র থেকে চিল্কা লেক পার হয়ে পুরী যাবার মোটর বাইক জার্নির আশপাশের দৃশ্যপট খুবই সুন্দর লাগলো। সবচেয়ে ভালো লাগলো চিল্কার উপর দিয়ে ভেসেলের জার্নি। যাইহোক খুব ভালো লাগলো এই ভিডিও। ভালো থাকবেন। ধন্যবাদ।

I also like exploring new roads as you did via Satpara. I am glad that I got to know that Chilka can be crossed with car , bikes on vessels. I have a mind to travel on the same route.
