Koenigsegg is Making a “Cheap” Supercar…

  • What happens when the most EXPENSIVE hypercar brand in the world tries to make an affordable supercar? The Koenigsegg Raw attempts to answer- with a powerful, lightweight chassis packaged in carbon fiber and LEDs. It has 700 horsepower, produced by a 3 cylinder turbocharged motor borrowed from the Koenigsegg Gemera. This small powertrain leaves enough space in the interior for 3 passengers and a high-tech sim-racing setup. The RAW by Koenigsegg was drawn up by design student Esa Mustonen- he took inspiration from sportbikes, wedge supercars, and fighter jets. The cheap supercar is unmistakably Koenigsegg, with its fancy reverse synchro doors and transforming rear diffuser. Will the Koenigsegg Raw ever reach production- and will the final price tag be as cheap and affordable as enthusiasts are hoping?

Just one change; Use their 3 cylinder, but bolt their "Quark" tiny electric motor, on to the engine block, to spin the end of the crankshaft. That would allow for as much as 935 horsepower, or as little as 500, and Koenigsegg could offer different power tunings per trim package, with no need to have any variation in powertrain development, packaging, or assembly, for different versions. That layout would, very efficiently, offer the company a high degree of flexibility with the product.

So many mistakes in this video. Since when has the TFG made 700hp? Try 600.
Also being a 3 cylinder doesn't mean it has less displacement than a Camry, it has less cylinders. Displacement is measured using the bore and stroke in the cylinders of an engine. By their logic you could build a 10L 3cyl and it would have less displacement.....

But 350-400K to get 700Hp is not that bad price too when 1000Hp Ferrari SF90 cost 625K and great McLaren 720S 300K!!
