Love to send you a pic of the bike I just finish building, it was store bought but I changed ....well I changed everything lol. I call it the Bad Ass Edition lol
Hi Jrock, what size motor you running? My current set ups a Voilamart 1500w48v with a 52v20ah battery and I shunt modded the controller, it's pretty good but after Xmas is outta the way I'll be hopefully upgrading to a NB Power 3000w rear hub motor and maybe (when money allows) upgrade my battery for a 72v one instead of 52v.
I was thinking about shunt mod on my 80a kit controller. Waiting on third battery to add to paralleled ones to see if it makes a difference first. Good to know nb makes a dependable controller. 👌🏽
Great vid (as per usual) I was thinking "Nah, he's gunna have to fully open it up I'm sure..?" But, wow, you got such a steady soldering hand you didn't have to, that's some skill dude! Great vid, although I did it already on my stock Voilamart controller (just 2 shunts solder welded together) it was satisfying to watch it all being done again!
@@E-bikeguy I'm gunna get an NB Power 3000w kit sometime hopefully soon after Xmas time, getting slightly bored now of the 1500w, and I've had my eye on the NB Power kit for a while, seems to me to be a better motor maybe than the Voilamart one. Cheers.
@@E-bikeguy I've been wondering Tommy, I tried Googling it but got no real answer, can you tell visually to look at the hub motor if there's a size difference, I mean is the 3000w motor size visually bigger than the 1500w ones? I'm hoping they are the exact same size 'cos I think if it's noticeably bigger it may drawn unwanted cops attention if you get my drift.
Thanks so much just bought a triangle battery for my 2000w 27.5 it's a 72v 60a bms 19.2 ah I also have the 40abms triangle for more range, I am debating whether I want to upgrade to 5000w next or 8000w, going to do the shunt mod to my spare controller and see if i can get a torque difference
yeah Anthony, you will notice a bit more torque, a few mph extra (not much) but a noticeable improvement in torque and your bike will hit it's top speed a bit more rapidly, I noticed a nice difference when I shunt modded my Voilamart 1500w controller, better torque, and just felt more nippier. Worth doing, just be careful when soldering as to not touch any other part of the circuit board.
I had a short and my display caught light, I did jump off haha, so I replaced it and it had gone from 40mph to 30mph, so I bought that controller 45amp from the 35 amp and nothing really so I bought 60v battery up from a 52v, but if I put a fully charged battery on and the display will only show fully charged at 48v, if I change it to 60v it will show 3 bar and not great power, I use sw900, if I change display to a different one will that solve my problem
Yes I'm having that same issue, that display don't show 52v and we on a 52v system it only show 48. 60. And 72v no 52v with is a shame but switch out for another display might do the trick
45ah 72v battery with a kit from amazon 2000w hub same size/color controller as this but diff internals also 100v do i need a bigger battery before i overclock the controller? im worried about the battery bc its from china

I have the sabvoton 72v45 its been bypassed 60a it said when i ordered it do u think i can still shunt mod it even tho its not needed my battery is only rated 52v 28.8ah 50a?
Hello sir, thanks for all the excellent information. im kinda new to the ebike scene and was wondering if i can shunt mod my smlro xdc600 v3 2000w dual motor bike ? What kind of improvements will be noticed? Thank you.
Save on costs. If you do this with proper cooling from the boost power/heat, you can save money instead of spending $100 - $300 more for a new controller.

Lol thank you , it was a split second decision the salt season bottle was right in my reach lol
I love my NBPOWER 7245. It’s not shunt modded but I did just upgrade to a 72volt battery with it. Man it feels amazing so far.

nice cam view this set up is nice.
Thank you 💯 only place that had good lighting
Great information!
Thank you my friend
Thanks for posting this
No problem at all 💯😎
my kt controller is 45a and has 3 shunts, after i have finished my new battery i will give it a go to see if the torque improves. thanks mate.
Yea, you will feel it from the start.
I just shunt modded my nbpower 80a controller. A 50% increase in torque easily. Acceleration is insane! Top speed is about the same.
Yes I noticed the increase in acceleration but top speed not so much

Is it possible to add a potentiometer in between the shunts so it could be controlled manually.

Is it possible to shunt mod an Aniioki A8? it's controller is 28 amps but I want it able to do 40 amps to hit 35-38 mph.
I don't know but I can find out tho
When are they going to come out with 72v 2000w nominal geared hub with 150nm torque...?
That is a good question, and it will be one monster geared hub motor
I put a nbpower 52v2000w kit on a schwinn high timber axl.The kit has a 40a sine wave controller. Can this one take that same mod?...Nice vids!
Yes, just as long as the controller have shunts inside
Can we shunt all controller? Just solder all the meter tgt will do? Are all controller same ?
No, not all controller are the same , some harder than others and some don't have shunts.

Yes if you do the mod to the controller you definitely will see a increase in performance 💯
I can’t find the right bit to get my screws out
It must have the security screws might need pliers to get them out
Probably it’s a different 45amp controller 2000w not the one you have exactly
What speed are you getting with the dual 52v battery. I was getting 31.5 mph without shutting
@user-xk3bu6rw7z it has a direct drive on it I was getting 38mph
It’s got to be my heavy bike slowing me down
Pay u to build me a battery for onyx rcr.. how much give me contact info
Email me at theebikeguy08@gmail.com we can go into more detail
Why not just get a better controller instead of modding
This came in a kit I got for my wife's ebike so just doing this mod is free and it's plenty fast for her.
