One of my fondest memories of my Dad comes from the wonderful smell of him polishing his boots and showing me how to do the same. My children say the same about me, so this channel just warms my heart. I need to order some conditioners, creams, because all I have been doing is polishing......but not anymore. Thanks for sharing your passion with us!

@@MrDW72 I use two, like you said, one for cleaning and one for buffing (after they've been conditioned). I mark the handles so I don't get them mixed up. I'm no authority on the matter, but that's my approach.

Watching these shoe care videos brings back childhood memories of when I shined my shoes almost every Sunday night, using a folding shoe holder on the pantry door, a brush, Kiwi wax, a rag for applying the wax and another for buffing to a ‘spit’ shine.

I massaged them inside and out with coconut oil over 5 days and now they look and feel soft and supple as when I got them! I have Bick 4 that I use on my cowboy boots and they look good after I use it but it just doesn't seem to last very long; think I might try coconut oil on them also.

Very detailed video. Thank you. I have a question. Isn’t there a possibility that the conditioner pulls out some color? I tried conditioning my new boots and the cloth I used was turning brown and black again and again like my boots were super dirty. I used grangers leather conditioner. I have to mention that my boots (Levi’s Emerson) are dark brown and have some sort of black burn decoration. After putting conditioner and wax the boots are worse than it was before. The color is lighter and much of the finish gone. Maybe I did put much products on it and made coats on the leather that make em look a bit ugly. Any ideas to clean all this stuff from the leather without damaging it so I can start again with the right products and the correct way?
