When Arnel Pineda sings, it seems like he's struggling and it's a lot of work, which I'm sure it is but when Steve Perry sang, it seemed effortless and fun AND SOUNDED FABULOUS!
@@marcespinoza5901 Agreed.A voice is a totally different instrument to take care of compared to everyone else in the band.Doesnt take much to blow it out.Thats one reason I'm a drummer. When Arnel first started in Journey, he had a whole ritual he would do in his dressing room to ready his voice involving different products/humidifier/methods.Not sure if he still does it or not.Nowadays the only way to make money in the music business is to tour and sell merch,so that's one reason why guys like this are at the ages their at and still being almost forced into touring,if they wanna eat.The touring lifestyle sucks once you're old and married, especially the old part.
THank u for sharing this with us.... Not the same without Beautiful handsome Steve perry tho.... Steve was the VERY BEST with THE VOICE noone can ever duplicate,,
AP did a great job with his craft. It's been 16 years now as the frontman of journey and we can see that wear and tear has taken its toll on him but nevertheless he is still good and awesome! Long live journey! We are lucky the new journey fans to experience their beautiful music and electriying concerts till this very day!
In Perry's prime this would be true. But time marches on and Steve can't even come close to Arnel in vocal ability. At 60yrs old I can't sing in the shower no more even, lol.
Hands down, I would much rather hear AP belting out semi off-pitch heartfelt emotional lyrics than listening to SP attempt to lipsync to audio tracks. Don't worry about Steve though, he is doing just fine living off the spoils of Arnel's hard work😅, considering Steve wrote or co-wrote most of their music with Jonathan Cain. Mr. Perry's is benefiting quite nicely from the song royalties some 50 years later. Arnel is amazing, no way Steve can keep up with Arnel's energy or enthusiasm. No offense, but Mr. Perry is no Mick Jagger.
Nah, they sell out just fine. SP is 75yrs. old. He can’t belt out those song like AP can now. Plus, no way he can jump and have the energy of AP. Don’t get me wrong SP will always be great but he passed the baton to AP. Journey is lucky to have AP and go on for 50 years.
All concert of Journey with Arnel are jam-packed. Admit that Arnel is the best replacement for Steve. Very energetic crowd drawer jumping on the stage.
@@dlittledtr I agree fully.Perry just isn't built for it (physically/vocally) anymore & we definitely don't need another Motley Crue/Kiss/etc backing tracks/fake vocals/etc situation to occur with Journey which could likely occur if Perry took the helm, but couldn't vocally keep up.He made Journey who they are vocally, but his exiting when he did (while a little earlier than we liked) was the right move imo.
Great seeing and hearing a Jupiter-80 on stage. Transports me right back to the 80s when I hear it.
I saw them in Norfolk Virginia Friday night they both were good
I live in Charleston and i missed this concert. I was and I'm still out of town until May 10. I'm kicking myself for missing this.
Wow i was there too
Arnel brought Journeys career back to life. They should be super thankful. Can Perry even sing anymore??
I was in Charleston a month later, I wish I could have gone to see them.

arnel pineda, pride of the philippines!
There are parts of a song where it pains me to listen to arnel, the guy needs long vocal rest , yet he still pushing it

You imagine long concert is very hard for any vocalist especially singing high notes.
It's better to adjust the standard tuning to half step down. Guns n Rose's do it live. Sweet child is not standard tuning.

He’s ok but not Steve Perry. Nobody will ever out perform Steve .

What?! Arnel Pineda is awesome he’s got a great singing voice

Journey the band is no Steve Perry or Arnel Pineada.
If Steve ever came back they would sell out stadiums worldwide, but Steve is done with Neal.
