    How good was Zico actually?
How Zico became the heir to Pelé's throne #GOAT
New episode of a documentary series where I plan to present all the greatest players of all time and then give them a score so a ranking of the best players can be created. In this episode we take on Zico who played for Flamengo and Udinese for most of his career, not only one of the greatest midfielders of all time but one of the greatest players of all time. See how Zico ranks and just how good was he.

Ronaldo Nazário, Ronaldinho, Romário, Kaka, you name it, they all love him. That's how good Zico was.

Passing players without anybody understanding how he did it...lol. Not saying about his ranking overall compared to maradona and pele etc. But this guy was as good as it gets. Can you even say well...maybe if he was a bit better at...this or that? No...the guy was great at everything.... It is the same as the brazilian team he played in....so what if they did not win a world cup.....they played the best football you can imagine..they were the sensation. even before 1982/1886 they were iconic...grandma's wanted to see what this brazilian team was all about hahaha...and zico was the biggest star of the team ...even bigger than socrates and all other stars in that team.

Point of note: In your video when you mark his score for Flair the voice over says that he receives a 10/10 (as it undoubtedly should be) but at the same time there is 8/10 written on the screen. Shurely shome mishtake?

People often forget that in the 80s the Brazilian league was on par if not harder than any european league. Anyone that saw zico play during his time would put him in the top 3 brazilian players of all time, alongside pele (the undisputed best) and romario. Yes, top 3, even above ronaldo, ronaldinho, rivaldo and neymar. And dont take my word on it, you can see it on lists by more traditional sports journalists and footballers, and even pele himself said that zico was the player that got closest to him.

If he stayed a little longer in Udinese we would have surely won the championship, but it wasn't his fault, if he could have stayed longer here he surely would have done it, beacuse he is in love with the region (in italian it's "regione", it's one of the 20 parts in which is divided Italy, I think in english it's state but I'm not sure), even if he's been in japan for a few years now he still remembers some words in the traditional language and he still thinks that the territory of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia is beautiful and unique
By the tike he got here he was cinsidered the strongest player in the world, everyone living in that period will always remember this event, even if he/she wasn't a football fan.
