Thing i like about Quan Chi, is he's not like Goro, or Shao Khan being big meat head bad guys. He's smarter, more sinister, and is basically a Machivellian Sociopath, he's easily the best mortal kombat villain.
I'm pretty sure Quan Chi was originally a regular demon from the Netherrealm, until he found out about sorcery. Quan Chi used sorcery to alter his appearance, escape the Netherrealm, and travel between realms without being noticed by any gods.

Quan Chi is awesome. One of my all time favourite MK Characters. Also his clan The Brotherhood of Shadows, I mean what a badass name. I was a bit disappointed he didn’t return in MK 11 despite being killed off in MK X but I’m glad he’s back in MK 1. I also love the fact that he created Scorpion and Noob Siabot and instigated the rivalry between Sub-Zero and Scorpion he’s so smart and manipulative and if he wasn’t so loyal towards Shinnok he could’ve easily become the big bad of Mortal Kombat save for Kronika. Although he could have very well found a way to defeat her as well

I think Shang Tsung took it. As before they fight in Deception, Quan Chi looks for it on his (belt?) After he defeats Shang Tsung he probably didnt have enough time to retrieve the amulet from Tsung before the Dragon King attacked. After the explosion, The Dragon King finds it which could mean that that it might have been hid by Shang Tsung in his effort to double cross Quan Chi.

What if I told you Scorpion killed a clone of Quan Chi?. In MK Gold in Baraka's ending he made a decoy to trick Baraka. Shinnok probably got a clone with Quan Chi's help. The Shinnok clone died in Armageddon. I find it strange that Quan Chi seemed so weak in MKX. So what if Quan Chi created a clone of himself and send it to release Shinnok. He probably knew he was going to get captured or killed by Scorpion.

If Quan Chi defeats Blaze in combat and gains his power he tries to conquer heaven and is defeated and imprisoned by the Elder Gods in side of the Amulet that Quan Chi and Shinnok draw their power from. The Elder Gods then send this Amulet back in time to the point by which Shinnok finds it. Now this ending is "non-canon" from an official stand point, but with the use of time travel as a major plot point in Mortal Kombat 9 it gives Quan Chi's Armageddon ending more weight being the only ending to directly use time travel in it's inner workings. The evidence that time travel is canon proves the existence of alternate time lines which means that Quan Chi in an alternate time line defeated Blaze, was trapped inside his Amulet, and sent back in time to the point by which Shinnok finds the Amulet. What this in tells is that regardless of what is "canon or non-canon" Qaun Chi has been trapped inside the Amulet with the power of a Demon Sorcerer Elder God. This Amulet in Mortal Kombat X is used by Quan Chi, Raiden, and Shinnok. The use of the Amulet should now be noted for Quan Chi as a means of protecting Shinnok by trapping him self inside the Amulet. Then freeing Shinnok at a later date by use of his own soul. When Shinnok is released he comes out different almost enlightened. If the Challenge tower is completed with Shinnok we learn what happens if he had not been stopped by Case Cage. Shinnok takes over earth realm and awakens force called "The One Being" who is considered the creator of all realms and had existed before them. What ties this whole theory together is a martial arts action movie called "The One" where a Person is going from universe to universe killing every version of him self each time he has a massive increase in strength, endurance, and speed. His goal is to kill every other version of him self to become the only one left and become a god referred to as "The One". I always wondered why Nitara wasn't in Deception. She played such a huge role in DA, and I thought going into MKD that she would be Onaga's right hand. Was she just really unpopular with the fans? I always thought Mavado, Nitara, Li Mei, Hotaru, Kenshi, Moloch (even Drahmin could be retooled), Frost and Onaga were cool, but it seems like NRS only really liked Kenshi, and I guess Frost a little bit. Fujin could only get in MKX in cutscenes. Mavado, Reiko and Havik are all in the MKX comic, and they took Reiko from a boring character to one of MK's best villains... in the comic, never made it to MKX, even though the comic events are referenced (Reiko Accords).... and then they killed him off. Mavado too. It's sad that these characters will never even get a CHANCE to see how they fair in a game that actually plays great. Reiko really was a boss in MKX, and if you just played the game, you wouldn't know that. Hell, he was basically controlling Mileena's rebel army, he almost ruled Outworld, and the game picks up the story from there. Reiko was the true Blood God, not Kotal, and there is a huge difference (because Reiko used ALL of the Kamidogu Daggers, not just one). Mavado defeated Kabal AND Kenshi, Nitara is basically responsible for Reptile becoming Onaga, but these characters get no love in the new timeline. ....now, Kobra, Darrius, Kai, Kira, Dairou, Hsu Hao... not so great, but then again, Stryker is terrible, even though he usually plays great. And I still cringe at the fact that we got Cyber Sub-zero and not Cyber Smoke in MK9.
Before anything you said about quan chi in pre mortal kombat, his true origin was that he was an oni demon, as you can see the eyes in goros lair in mk1.
I think they (creators of MK) made a mistake with Quan Chi, because they give him too much power. He can resurrect anyone., turn it to a zombie, and what not. That makes the concept of death less scary. Someone dies... but no problem.. Quan Chi resurrect him as a zombie, and then Raiden make him/her human again. Overall I really like the MK story, and these are very nice videos. Keep up the good work.
In all honesty that could apply to the whole story and not just quan chi because before the timeline reset characters were revived for the convenience of the storyline (*cough cough* armageddon, as every character in the existence of the franchise fought in it). In all honesty most of the characters could have been revived at least once before armageddon. Before MK9, It was an ongoing meme that characters never truly die in the mortal kombat franchise.

Before anything you said about quan chi in pre mortal kombat, his true origin was that he was an oni demon, as you can see the eyes in goros lair in mk1.

I think they (creators of MK) made a mistake with Quan Chi, because they give him too much power. He can resurrect anyone., turn it to a zombie, and what not. That makes the concept of death less scary. Someone dies... but no problem.. Quan Chi resurrect him as a zombie, and then Raiden make him/her human again.
Overall I really like the MK story, and these are very nice videos.

In all honesty that could apply to the whole story and not just quan chi because before the timeline reset characters were revived for the convenience of the storyline (*cough cough* armageddon, as every character in the existence of the franchise fought in it). In all honesty most of the characters could have been revived at least once before armageddon. Before MK9, It was an ongoing meme that characters never truly die in the mortal kombat franchise.
