Thank you so much Mark. I was just about to go out at lunch and get a Carrera Gt real quick. You saved me so much time. I’m not worried about that much money. 😂😂
287 likes and no comments? lemme fix that
Bad case of unlucky right there
Retired Porsche Sales Consultant. In 2009, we had THREE Carrera GTs in our US showroom. All with less than 15 miles on them. They were locked and not available to even sit in. I sold one, listed at $440,000 for $370,000. Not my decision. We were not allowed to sell any Carrera GT outside of the US. Someone, using US credentials purchased the other two. The next we heard about these two, somebody was looking for replacement keys as they had "misplaced" the original keys to BOTH cars. The cars location was given as " on the docks." In LONDON.....
Keep smiling that’s what we love
So still made £400k each. Didn’t lose anything, just would have made more, cars are a gamble. Still a massive win.
Happiest man in Birmingham clip cracked me up 😂😂
I was lucky enough in 2007 to get a few laps on a track day in a Carrera GT (driven pretty hard!). Couldn't quite get over 200mph, but we got pretty close! V10, Manual..... such an animal!
I love this video. Learned a lot about the market for CGT's. Recently here in the Philippines these things are starting to pop up. Usually only 2 known CGT's here in our country. One owned by the Porsche PH Distributor. Right now it's 2 Silver, 1 Red (rumored to be delivery mileage) and 1 Yellow one.
Great video and love the variation of content. Keep up the awesome work.
Why are you just now appearing in my feed? Great videos, very informative and entertaining at the same time! Hilarious editing, relatable bloke telling it like it is, I’m going to go out on a limb and subscribe, like and share with my mates! Well done, young man!
Did you ever watch CarWow at some point? Mark's lent his cars to them
Yes, very relatable. Buying millions of dollars of super cars per year. Just like us regular people!
I love your videos, such informative and useful channel ! Thank you 🙏🏼
Thankyou for the upload as always.......cheers mate👍
Really great vid mate on your experiences thanks for sharing
Love the videos mark, but nipper loves them even more. He loved seeing you in Catshill (bromsgrove) thank you for taking time to talk to him. If you don't find a buyer for the KA we will buy it for him for his learning in 5 years bless him. Your an idol and inspiration to him.
Mad that you had 2 CGT’s id love to know what other motors you’ve had in the past but great video mark. 👍🏻
love the videos mark keep it up 💙
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoy them
Humble man! This is one of the best lessons I've ever been taught!
Great montage mate, had a blast watching it before sleep, the memage placing was spot on 😂😂😂😂
cheers mark really good to see the investing sdie to the car industry
Omg the sound of that thing on start-up!!! Im gonna be hearing that thing in my mond all day now haha... Thanks Mark 😎
Smashing this CZcams bud 🎉
Highly entertaining! Great story telling.
Nice clickbait, not exactly losing money now is it?!
Someone's probably written it already but for those that didn't see it...
Mark, the reason why they made the gearknob out of birchwood is because in the 917 LeMans race cars they made the gearknob out of wood to save weight...though I've also heard it was to protect the driver's hands when changing gears since the transmission was so hot a metal gearknob would burn the driver's hands. The wood in the CGT is a nod to that racing past.
Thanks for the transparency and your Formular for buying cars as an investment.
I really would like to know how much percentage a middle man like ,,Brian" would get for a deal like this.
Keep up the good work. I almost watched every Video of you, and I have been here since the delivery of your Lamborghini Huracan STO and i will not leave any time soon😅
Another brilliant episode dude really liked it sorry to hear about the family being threatened
I remember seeing a black CGT on the street when they first came out I was breathless. especially a rare site in Canada 🇨🇦
Great video , 2024 is gonna be epic. Ps like the new office 👌🏽
Sadly the lights fell down and pulled all the paint with it so going to need to rethink it 😂 thanks for watching
@@MarkMcCann64 LOL. noticed hinges as well.Put them in aluminium diffuser tracks, what I do as a chippy when build alcove units & front lip the shelves to hide them.
Met mark at aurosport today and chatted about sterato and kens rally car. Such a lovely guy, very engaging. Looking forward to Aberdeen mate
nice vids mate!
This video is so relatable. Thanks mark for the insight. Definitely going to keep my 918, silly me thinking about selling it! 🙄
Hope you drive it, at least.
Unless there’s another catastrophic crash like 08. Never know what’s going to happen, this is such a dumb video lol. This is like the guy who paid 10k bitcoin for a pizza.
Quality of videos is so good
The wooden gear knob is a throwback to the legendary porsche 917
Love watching your vids mark and knowing your from brum
Quality to see Carl
Very cheeky title there Mark lol I was worried for you but it's easily a 10 million pound car in 20 years so you'll be kicking yourself even more then
@@Mr_mark_mccannn you are not fooling anybody get a bloody job you bum
I don't see that happening but then again you never know
@@rodneypratt4324if gas cars aren’t banned all together, it surely could be.
Great video mark
Luckily your formula has overcome these losses and you now have a very healthy portfolio.
You didn’t mention what you used the £600k for and what that car sold for….
Love your videos mark 👍👍
Superb video. Packs in so much activity and is captivatiing.
You’ve done - extremely - well with most of your cars though. Especially a certain rally car. 👏👏
Smashed it as always Mark please do a video of your rally cars and why you have them ! And are you ever going to do some rallying ?
WHAT IS MONEY ANYWAYS 😅
@@Mr_mark_mccannn can i message you too?
saw the wood grill audi at mech a nick and had a giggle. keep it going ;_)
Love of MX !! Good guys !
Dammnn that sucks! Keep up the content mate!
These edits are killin me 😂😂😂😂
I lost all concept of time being over Christmas and new year, just when I got back into my schedule, this video didn’t come out Tuesday and threw me all off again.
Do you want my Mini Cooper 2011 Convertible in rare light blue with 84k miles or should I keep it for another 5 years?
improving day by day :)
Thank you, enjoy
One of the best cars ever made drove one left hooked in yellow when I work at the pde centre at Silverstone sounds unreal
Interesting!! My fav childhood car 1987-93 5.0 Mustang was in one of the recent Fast&F Films. It’s general worth has tripled the past several years.
Man give a raise to the editor. Really nice story telling
Just like any investing Mark, some luck involved in the timing of buying and selling. We have all had the, if only I had held on a bit longer, but hindsight is a great thing. You made a tidy profit on both and it should be viewed as a win. If prices had of plummeted, you would have been laughing all the way to the bank. Good profit made and a pat on the back. Maybe a better win on the next one ( just don't try with a McLaren of course, unless it has an F1 badge 😉).
Aw mate gutted. Hindsight is a beautiful thing. I can’t believe you Dident hang on to one to drift round the garden 😂
Mark if we knew in foresight
what we knew in hindsight
we would be a dam sight better off. I think we all have some regrets when it comes to buying and selling cars and motorcycles whatever the value. Chin up.👍
Sounds like this is the CGT that DDE bought in Canada?
The teak gearknob is a reference to the Porsche 917 that had the same material in the gearknob :)
About 6 minues in it was cool seeing the young actorTemuera Morrison buying a car from the late great Kiwi comedian John Clarke before he went to Ozzie and became a big star. Tem Morrison went on to act in a Star Wars movie, Once Were Warriors and others. Comedian Clarke was playing his alter ego Fred Dagg, the gig that started him on his way to winning several Ozzie TV awards over the years. He was a Downunder Icon.
We need more shorts so I can convince my friends to watch lol
The old saying could ah should ah would ha 😂
Brilliant video bro
Thank you, glad you enjoyed
Love your honest videos, there is only few well of people who actually will tell you what not to do, and best way of purchasing assets.
Great story Mark. Got any other story's to tell? This could be a thing.
A true driver's car..... No traction control....!! What a wonderful piece of kit.
Love you mark
I was going to ask about the carrera gt in the last car update video so this is answers to the question I never asked
Haha, thanks for watching
I first saw one of those a LeicesterForest east services , I spoke to the owner, young looking guy, I asked what the bhp was, he didn’t know, more money than passion for cars I recon 😂
Are you going to the Autosport Live Action Arena??
Gutted mark. My dad had an 1987 carrera ciupe with beautiful spec including g50 box, was stunning. He got back what h3 paid for it, having had it for over 20 years and 30,000 very very enjoyable miles. He was sick when he saw a similar car sell at auction and higher mileage sell for triple some years later. But my mum remind3d him of all the pleasure it gave him, and that it’d have been such a bore keeping it in beautiful nick, and he’d have never have used it where they live now as he’d have had to garage it away from: the house they live in or store it as you did! Yes he says now, you can’t take the money with you, and he had an amazing time owning it!
Please make a video on 6 wheeler g wagon😊
If you dealing with the Hartley’s your never getting the best money, offered them three cars over time and sold to other traders for £100k more - 😂
Hi Mark. Wow what a true story. A Carrera GT. I will never own one lol. Thanks for all your hard work and great video. Hindsight is a Great thing as they say lol. 😅🇨🇮
Matty G getting in on it fkin h8 brum !! 😢😅 hell fire matty G
Great video. Not on the same scale but I owned a Lotus Carlton 15yrs ago and sold it for £9k :-(. Gees, I should have just garaged it eh!
TGE jumped on the CGT wagon just at the right time it seems
He didn’t lose any money at all- Mark bought 2 CGT's for 245k apiece, and sold them for 600k. He made almost a million in profit on the sales in only about 5 years of ownership. Selling the cars before the values really took off to 1.1m each doesn't mean he "lost money," he just didn’t make as much as he could of had he waited (which during a pandemic is is understandably unlikely). Clickbait title should be "I made half a million investing into Carrera GT's but could've made more had I held for two more years."
64!! Lets go!!
You do what you think is right at that point in time. If you turn a profit, then great. For all we know, you could have backed out and there be a catastrophic fault with the car weeks/months later.
Great story
Never clicked so fast seeing that thumbnail
Would like to see you in a brisca F1 or Brisca f2
It’s really much worse than the lack of traction control. As can be seen with DDE in the video, the brackets break off the shock absorbers ! And not even so rarely. I think this also happened in the accident because the driver could drive but could not catch a breaking shock absorbers !
A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush Mark!! Never regret a profit of any description 👍
Was that the one that the boys from DDE wind up with? Did uncle raymond buy that car? If so they sold it for more than 1.2 I think but that could be b.s
Oh wow! That's a wild story. I wonder if the Canadian that bought the car was the owner of August luxury motorcars. I feel like DDE got theirs from him around that time.
Is that the same careera gt dde had cause he sold to a Canadian client aka uncle raymond?
Nice plot-twist ;D keep smiling.
I think I remember seeing one sell at Silverstone auctions a year ago or two for the 600k mark, it must have been yours.
I bought a 2021 tesla model 3 paid 36000$ and then sold it for 46000$ later due to full self driving. Also tesla cars need no oil maintenance for a really really long time. I have another model x for 6 years now no maintenance at all and it working in very heavy snow areas
I love your videos they are amazing and I love the porsche carrera gt
Why I am not stupid that car is from America not the uk amd sorry I don't believe this is real
Any chance the cash from the Carrera GT’s freed up the capital to buy the RX43? In which case the video could be called “how losing 1.2m made me 3m” 😅
Great VIDEO Mark. The Carrera GT is a great example of investment cars and the gamble. I was offered one at £250k and honestly thought - NO WAY these are so expensive to own and I couldnt understand knowing how amazing the car was on paper that no one wanted one. Then the crash and I thought to myself with a HUGE smile, I was right. No look at cars over £1.3 Million. Anyone selling a DeLorean time machine that can do 88mph?
Such a legendary machine
Yeh I can relate to this .
The editor really had fun making this video
Hey profit is profit matey so could be worse you could have actually lost money, your the man
I remember what seemed like yesterday these being for sale at £500k, saw one today for sale at £1.6m. Insane but what a machine…
But on the other hand how much have the other cars gone up?
Did your car go to DDE?
Wonder if this is the car DDE bought. As that was in Canada
the teak gear knob was to absorb sweat
the formula is correct for cars and motorbikes - hindsight is annoying with something as rare as a CGT, every now and then you must stop and say dam. 😢 anyway its fun looking for the next car......
