Antique & Vintage Nashville Shopping! | Music, Memories, MCM

- We're near the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, where Music Valley is a year-round destination for music and vintage fans alike! Bookended between two music theaters are a string of shops, specializing in antiques, vintage fashion, MCM modernist furniture, decor and all things vintage!
"Smack!" is our first shop, where fun vintage and retro fashion (and a great Enid Collins purse) live. A wall of spangly sequined 1990s gowns and blouses show us a new trend in old clothes, while everything from vintage furs to cowboy shirts festoon walls and crowd racks all over this colorful shop!
Next is "Music Valley Antiques & Marketplace," where dealers mix decor accents of many eras (some newer, some older), but there's plenty of real vintage and a few antiques to boot! We find some fun bargains and pick some fabulous 50's flamingo stuff to take to our Florida show, then head next door to "Vinterest," where more vintage lurks among contemporary gifts and house ornaments.
But the star attraction for the vintage crowd is "Dashwood Vintage & Flora," where serious MCM modernist designer furniture (the Pearsall chair and the Danish teak wall units are tremendous!) meets a bevy of 1950s-1970s swung vases, Italian pottery, art glass and more interesting vintage smalls. We get our pick of amazing 1960s indoor-outdoor fireplaces here!
It wouldn't be a trip to Music Valley without mentioning a few other odd attractions, so we head past a shelter where people pay to hang out with cats, then stroll over to where that tow truck is hauling off...the General Lee?! Yes, it's "Cooter's," where fans of the "Dukes of Hazzard" TV show can feast their eyes on a parade of merchandise from the day...and of course, the poster that turned "cutoffs" into "Daisy Dukes"!

Hi George, I came to watch again while I wait for a new video from your latest show in Florida.
I grew up going to Opryland as a kid.
Yay❤❤❤❤!
Dashwood Vintage was an awesome shop! Totally felt at home there. ❤
Fantastic, as always. Love, love, love the humor.
For rhe record, my fist car was a Rambler American. I named it Goober. Equipped with an AM - FM converter 😂 really !
The tooled leather purse made my heart skip a beat!❤
Great video George! Loved all the groovy stuff in those spaces! Thanks for sharing!

Same to you!
I learn SO much from you!! Love these videos so much!!
three years ago i couldnt find toilet paper -- now i cant afford it
It was most expensive during the covid shortage.
Price gouging! 😠
I was desperate yesterday (New Years Day) and sent my son to the local corner store for toilet paper. I didn't realise that he would come back with 12 rolls for $18. WHAT? Talk about price gouging!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Hi George, had to share with my sister! Your narrations are well done and interesting. Thank you 💐 stay well 💐
Hi George waiting fore you is like waiting fore Santa hee hee
ho ho
I really look forward to this too! lol
The Z24 emblem is actually from a Chevy Cavalier. The Camaro is a Z28.
I was in this store Saturday after thanksgiving and bought a sponge frog out of that MCM booth! I was so excited. I had been looking for some time for 1 and got it for 9 bucks 😍🐸
That corner sofa unit at 31:10 brought back some memories for me. We had one very similar to that when I was about 3 in the 50’s. I have a vivid memory of playing on it, tripping, and falling face first on the corner table. A very traumatic and dramatic scene ensued. To the point that the memory is still vivid all these decades later.
I actually thought those green/gold decanter set with only 3 glasses was nice and I don't usually like the green ones. Thanks for sharing and you have a great day and safe travels. Happy Holidays to you and yours
Fun!
Sorry I missed it. Wasnt home.
I saw a lot of stuff that I used to own, including the funnel-shaped fireplace (I won it at a home show and sold it for $50 😕). If I’d had the space, and kept all that stuff from the 60s and 70s….I could get some good money today!….and I’d have a reputation as a hoarder 🤣.
Good evening, George! Loved the child's piano! That was a fancy one. I always wanted a collection of children's creamers and sugars. No space for that now, though. Those cups and saucers were nice. I have a Buster Brown tea set. I used to have some old Hilton Hotel plates...sold them when I moved here. There was a statue next to the 70's beverage set that caught my eye. I used to have one of those Filipino Lazy Susans. They take a LOT of space to display. Never been a fan of the panther lamps, but I did like that green pair. Fun shops there, with really interesting items. Thanks for the take-along!
I feel the need to find another child's piano to buy now after seeing that, Schoenhut was always a little more detailed/refined somehow to me and that was an old one. I like the children's rimmed dishes from the 1920s, I could hang a stub wall of those in a kitchen or something. The lazy susans were common in Washington when I was a kid because of import stores and everyone's Navy dad having been stationed there, I couldn't ever justify the space. The green pair were so dynamic with those shades! I'm glad you had fun with it too
Thtsa fun thing to collect ❤
Hi George and everyone!
Hi Pamela!
Hi Pamela
29:56 I HAVE THAT SEARS PREWAY FIREPLACE , MINE WAS ORANGE
Thank you for this video. Cooter’s Garage is one of our favorite places to take out of town guests when they visit. We need to get over and see the vintage stores in that area.
I'm looking forward to this one.
I've been looking forward to showing it all day!
Great show!!!
😢 dang I was just there the other day, I would have loved to run into you! I'd show you all the good places to go 😊
28:00 MY PARENTS HAD ONE OF THE THOSE WOODEN LAZY SUSANS
So did mine!
Your videos are awesome,I travel all over and don't spend any gas money,,when you talk about the vintage bags will you say the prices please 😊
Glad to take you with me! I will try to highlight prices more often
Hi Friends, the more comments and shares George receives the more CZcams likes his channel! 😊
Hello George!
Hi there!
I remember the Cavalier Z24. My dad had one a long time ago.
Hello George great video I enjoyed it very much. Could you tell me who made the green lamps? Is that color called chartreuse? I have a lamp that color it's Coy fish I don't know who made it. Thank you
My god how many people used that ashtray at one time? Talk about second hand smoke!
Was that era, yes
I’m trying to remember how you tell the early smiley face items from new ones.
The curl at the end of the smile is more pronounced on newer ones
George, I'm going to Las Vegas for Christmas. Remind me what the name of the antique/thrift shop of your friend is.
Do you ever run into vintage sports equipment, leather football helmets, old baseball gloves, etc?
I really like that wall unit wondering if 2100.00 is a decent price
Do you have a store space in Florida? If so, where?
Cheap real estate? In Nashville? Compared to CA or NYC - yes, but cheap? I live near Nashville. Yes, a lot of Californians are moving here.
33:37 HAVE ONE OF THOSE RED LABEL MURANO PAPERWEIGHTS . SO YOU'RE SAYING THEY'RE FAKE ?
Z24 is a chevy, but it's not a camaro. that would be Z28.
We’re you there after the tornadoes?
You did it again!!!! Please get it right. Kanawha is pronounced Can aw.
Sucks it's now impossible to ID REAL Murano...
