Between Egypt and Gaza - VPRO documentary - 2011

On a 14 kilometer stretch between the borders of Egypt and Gaza, 1400 tunnels form the sphere of the local economy, a very profitable trade for the locals. Backlight went underground and examined the future of this border area.
Under Mubarak, the Egyptian government officially supported the embargo on Gaza, but the illegal transit via tunnel routes between Egypt and Gaza was obvious. In this post-revolutionary period, Egypt must re-establish its position, including the policy in the region. The people in the Egyptian border town Rafah can finally talk openly about the profitable trade through the tunnels but are they waiting to open the borders?
Backlight goes underground and investigates what the exchange of power in Egypt means for trade in opportunism. We see what the tunnels mean for the daily life under the boycott and talk with the Palestinian journalist Ali Abunimah and Egyptian chief-chief actor of Al Jazeera Cairo, Hussein Abdel Ghani about the future of this border area.

I cannot agree more, not all Palestinians are terrorists. But their government Hamas is. Very simple and easy way to solve the tragedy in Gaza, get rid of Hamas, and recognize Israel's right of sovereignty.
