- The so-called shortsellers live off the mistakes of others. They win when others lose. A shortseller benefits from the fact that many investors are guided by the delusion of the day. The events at three famous companies popular among investors, the Flemish Lernout & Hauspie, the German Wirecard and the American Gamestop, show the forces the shortseller encounters when going against the emotions of the masses.
In this six-part documentary series, Marije Meerman takes you to Planet Finance. Who live and work there? What language do they speak? What is the use of this planet, and what makes this financial world so attractive to so many people?

Can we have season 2? This should definitely be an ongoing series. Some people hate short sellers, but they will do the work that the SEC are often too lazy to do. Some of the biggest criminals in the stock market have been put away only because of short sellers

as they mentioned wirecard hype as early red flag, comes to mind how elon musk companies, eg tesla mostly always had hype and also shortsellers... idk what they did to protect company from crashing but it was close they admitted

I saw some doc of wirecard case but this document has way more interesting info, details and plot twists than mainstream dry financial documentaries. I get german channel cant touch this sensitive topic as politics and whatnot were involved.

Short selling is for fools . You can make a lot more money buying low and selling high than Shorting high
and buying back low. The simple reason for this is that you can buy more shares at a cheaper price and less
shares at a higher price with the same amount of money .
But shares can fall way faster than rise

There is one company in India named Adani Enterprises. Its a huge company with political support but the fundamentals of the company are horriffic.
11:42 tech companies exaggerate products all the time to garner investment to complete the product. Apple did this with the iphone demo. Surely, there must be more to the story, but this part I’m conflicted on.
