I've been wanting to give split hair a go for ages now, and since my roots were due for a re-bleach I thought it was the perfect timing to try it out. Some of you might ask, what is split hair; and well it's as straightforward as it sounds. You literally split your hair down the centre and dye it two colours.
As you all know I'm a bit of a mermaid and I'm definitely not ready to give up my mermaid dyed locks yet. So the two colours I chose were BLUE and TURQUOISE

I did a split dye a few weeks ago myself. I did it red/green for xmas, but the red faded to pink so I put more pink in and that side became pink/red and I decided to put blue over my green and that became dark blue/cyan so I got four tones like you. It's a nice ombre effect, so I love it. Loved how yours turned out as well. I thank Melanie Martinez for the inspiration.

if you are doing this at home, and either its your first time doing half half or you are using a dark colour (lets say black one half and blue the other) i would HIGHLY reccomend doing one side at a time and using vaseline to cover the other side as the colours can run when you are washing them off!! either that or be SUPER careful when rinsing (aka rinse it half at a time)

You need to use more toner on your roots next time Hun. Also just be careful not to over bleach your roots because you'll get the opposite results!

Abby Mcc if she had more of a toned blonde base as opposed to a yellow base the colour would be more vibrant and you wouldn't see the band of discolouration as much i dont think
i've had my fair share of screw ups when it comes to dying my hair. i've done what she did in this video actually last month! its a pain in the ass to fix but toner is worth while

I've seen your hair vids so many times and this the first time hearing your voice and it's not what I imagine
Try applying the dye to freshly washed, dry hair, and leaving it on for an hour or two. It will take to the hair much better and last way longer.
Depends on what dye you use to how long you leave it in, i definatly wouldnt recommend leaving crazy colour in for longer than 30 or so minutes because its really damaging compared to manic panic and directions ect

highly recommend manic panic for more vivid colours and leaving (any semi permanent/ wash in wash out dye without added peroxide ect) on for at least 2-4 hours to make sure the dye stains your hair stronger. wont hurt your hair :) and not using anything stronger than 9% to bleach your hair with and waiting just a little longer for it to take, the percentage strength determines the speed/force of which the cuticle of your hair is forced open, and the speed of which it bleaches the colour molecules within the hair shaft, 12% is pretty strong, and can cause more damage in the long term. dont be tempted to just keep bleaching to get a lighter and lighter colour, use a toner after or lighten your hair with a high lift tint (like 11.2 ect) candyfloss texture hair is never fun ...and if you know this already ignore the hairdressing seminar lol!
Yeah that's why I left it brassy and went straight into putting the blue and turquoise on as I didn't want to put anymore bleach on it. I will definitely try leaving the colour on for longer actually, someone else said that! I thought half an hour was long enough ahaha! Thanks for the tips! xxx

Hey! I absolutely love your videos and subscribed! But just a friendly reminder when you dye your hair look at a colour charts because at the beginning your roots were kinda yellow. And yellow and blue make green. I know this because my mum is a hairdresser. I just don't want your hair to become a colour you don't want it to become😊

no problem! you can find colour carts online or in dollar stores. Also maybe applying two applications of toner on your hair might help as well. in a few days I am actually dying my hair mermaid blue colours. I showed you to all my friends and they loved you and have Subbed!!! I think you need way more subscribers than you have!

my friend used green manic panic on her hair and it wouldn't come out. she had to go to a professional and even they couldn't get it out! she had to dye it darker to cover it up. couldn't lighten it out :/
