  • Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve is a protected area located in western Nepal. It was established in 1987 as the country's first hunting reserve. The reserve covers an area of around 1,325 square kilometers (511 square miles) and spans parts of the Rukum, Baglung, and Myagdi districts.
    The primary purpose of the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve is to conserve the unique biodiversity of the region while also allowing sustainable hunting practices for certain species. The reserve is particularly known for its diverse flora and fauna, including various species of Himalayan wildlife such as blue sheep (bharal), Himalayan tahr, ghoral, serow, and several species of pheasants.
