    Syrians of all religions should be connected together. But I'm so proud of the Syrian Jewish community.

    My brother lived in Brooklyn right around 2000 discovered our connection to the Syrian Jewish community. My great grandfather was Syrian Jewish and it was our family recipes my brother recognized.

    Syrian are so close in their culture no matter what religion they are. It’s the culture ( food , songs……..) that connects us.

    As a Syrian muslim I say: We all need to go back to Syria and live in harmony lime we used to be long ago, the beauty of Syria is it's diversity. I love our diverse Syria let us all go back and rebuild it together Christine, Jews, Muslims and more! ✨🙏🏻✨

      The young Turks at the turn of the 20th century made sure that the harmony you speak of ended. Financial strains from the newly constructed Suez Canal added to the impossibility, as well. What was no longer can be.

    When I lived in Brooklyn in the 90’s the Syrian Jewish community had a stellar reputation.

    just seeing this 01/02/23. excellent video. i think the title syrian JEWISH community would be better to attract the interest of more jewish viewers.
    HaShem's blessings on your beautiful community.

    Thank you Djmal family for talking about our community, especially when some of the Syrians are married to Ashkenaz, Persians, Morrocans and other communities who don't understand much about how tightknit we are. Mashadi Persians are also very closely tightly knit but they are far smaller than our community but have the same vibe of being uniquely close to their own culture.
    Furthermore we only left Syria (Suria) one generation ago after thousands of years of Jewish occupation in Syria.

    Anyone who is not a Syrian Jew is an outsider. Very closed community. When my Dad asked for their help in 1956 he was told to go to the "Egyptian Jews." Don't know if it's still like this.

    Oh the Syrian Jews reach goes back way further, especially in central and South America. I have Y DNA that links my heritage back to marriages between Cohen men from Syria who emmigrated to Central and South America and intermarried with the women of central and south america at least starting in the 1700s.

      I love Syrians (especially if there are those who happened to be Jewish ,although the majority of the population in Syria is mainly Muslim) but I don't want to encounter this kind of Jewish family ,they sound boastful and obnoxious.
      Surprise they don't even know a lick of Arabic , if they are proud to call themselves Syrians.

    • @Ashira_N_A
      @Ashira_N_A Před 4 lety +1

      @, I've been around their community and a lot of them speak Arabic. Most of the grandparents definitely speak Arabic because they came from Syria or from Egypt. Many went to Egypt before coming here. I know a family like that. They consider themselves Egyptian now, but they can easily tell you when they arrived in Egypt and that they are actually Syrian Egyptians. Even many of the ones who went to Mexico, Central and South America still also, speak Arabic. I don't know what you're talking about.
