My favorite line of the whole song ♡
Indeed 😊

Definitely the back and forth, when she says I gave so many signs?

What if she was abused? What if she was being hurt when this song came out and it helped her leave?!?! How can ppl insult her without knowing what she went thru?? As a 38 y/o woman it saddens me that so many of u had a lack of empathy or even sympathy for someone who was OBVIOUSLY going thru something. this song feels like the couple is confused about their faults but they are just both hurt
This song is about a couple miscommunicating and feeling hurt and misunderstood.
yep
this song seems like the conversation of James and Betty
I just want to add the fact that, at the last part where Taylor and Bon was answering each other, Bon still had the 'final say', Bon also sang at the start of the song. It feels like the couple is arguing, and yet the girl just gives up arguing because he just doesn't listen.
Yes!
Never expected to cry listening to this song. It's because Joe and Taylor wrote it together and now they are both in exile. Makes it more sadder than it ever was.
I cry every time I hear it.
In my heart I believe Taylor was trying to give Joe a sign, albeit subconsciously or subliminally.
They didn't write it together, he has credit in this song for the piano. He played the piano and she used it to this song
@@esrojocarmin He wrote the first verse, lyrics & piano. Watch the Folklore doc. She explains how it came together.
Right. And how do you write a song together, about a breakup that is felt impending by both, but hasn’t happened yet and probably isn’t spoken about because speaking of it would give it power and you aren’t ready to go there yet? Are you sending warning signals to the other in the form of this song? Like, pay attention! (I gave so many signs, and THIS IS ONE OF THEM)
Taylor and Joe wrote so many beautiful, heartbreaking songs together...
Champagne problems, exile,...
"I think I've seen this film before and I didn't like the ending..."

"You're not my homeland anymore, so who am I defending now?"
Man, this is so deep. Your partner is your home. And in a home, you will find comfort, love, family, support and care. Defend this home if you want it to last forever. Queen of Lyrics = Taylor Swift🤗
Yeah! It's really deep. Love it ❤
I love this song because it reminds me of my parents. They were married for 21 years before things fell apart; they met in their late teens. They were friends for nearly 30 years. Everyone thought they were going to make it. Whenever they were happy together, it was the best feeling in the world for me. It was heartbreaking to witness the fall out, the slow decay. To see them fall out of love with each other. Now, I'm just trying my best to pick up the pieces so I can go live my own life, on my terms. So I don't have to suffer the consequences of other people's choices, so I can have actual control over the circumstances around me. So I don't have to experience that pain ever again.
To Watch parents being like this is a lesson. But avoiding pain for plane, well growht comes from expanding. Status qou is just that. Believing you Are in control, but not experiencing. The skin will always heal from scratches.
I really hope she goes back to this. She's her own artist, and she obviously needs no help writing and producing hits, but i perosnally think her teeny bopper era, with the overproduced pop songs are severly dragging her down as an artist, and even as a performer. She's so much of a song writer, a feeler, not a shower. Give us more of this emotion!
I love that Taylor is so versatile that she can serve the most teeny bopper song ever and at the same time she can give you a heart wrenching divorce inspired song. That's what makes her Taylor and what makes her so successful 17 years into her career. I dont think she should shed that quality of her cuz it comes with the whole Taylor package.
She wrote this with her ex Joe Alwyn
we need more divorce anthems by her

My fav is epiphany
I think exile is the most basic song. U really no taste I-. Mirrorball is the best, or Seven and August.
nikolaj ocean chill out man u can’t have everyone got the same taste with u duh.
If I had 1 song to describe my 13year marriage this is it. 2 beautiful boys I don't regret a thing. But this is heartbreakingly beautifully said.
So William Bowery is actually Joe Alwyn who co-produced and co-writer this song. That's why Taylor said she and Joe like sad songs a lot.
bon iver: you never gave a warning sign
taylor swift: i gave so many signs
these lines are simple but so relatable at so many levels. 😢
definitely so I listened to it twice!
Boy being so afraid to approach a girl because he cant see or get the sign. Yet the girl gave so many signs but the way she gave it is hard for the boy to get it.
The lyrics respond to each other, as in The last time.
"you never gave a warning sign"
"i gave so many signs"
*MAAANN THAT PART ASDFJKSKSK*
Yep it slaps 😭
Please search for Exile but you're driving in the rain
My favorite part! I get chills!!
Why does it have to be her that says “I gave so many signs”? Practically implying that the man is at fault for something..
@@slashnagy6 Uh are you offended or something?
@@slashnagy6 not necessarily either one's fault, just bad communication
relating to Exile more than ever before 💔 every words, every second of it, I could feel in my veins
“I think I’ve seen this film before, so I’m leaving out the side door”
“So step right out”
CHILLS
Just here to see if this song is worth screaming and crying over.
Nah there's better songs then this lmao
@@Mr.Frog21fr. Of all songs to literally scream and cry over in public. This ain’t the one. Just makes the video even funnier
it is
Who else is thinking this should get song of year. This is a masterpiece.
ABSOLUTELY!
Yep
Collaboration
Best collab of the year 👍👍
Yes and Taylor better release the music video 😤
Stop being Disrespectful to Taylor. She is so talented ✨.
Ikr I was watching her Grammy behind the scene video and it was like released 10 mins ago and it already had 2 dislikes, like did you even finish watching the video? Why do people hate her so much?
I think justin beiber copied this song for holy
@@funnyusername7097 because she's talented and super successful, and there's something called ✨ jealousy ✨
“Second third and hundredth chances” THAT HIT ME SO HARD BECAUSE ITS SO TRUE😭
