The new Rangers still don't have room in the back seat even being a so called 4 door. They're bloated in size physically but not in the cab or bed. Basically a small family sedan with an open trunk glued on the back and called it a truck.
I know Ford Ranger is new reborn, return, and redesigned last year. The super cab and super crew, 2.3L EcoBoost engine, 10-Speed Automatic transmission, and 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain. That’s Built Ford Tough!
@@alexander1485 Every cars gets bigger over time. What was a compact in 94 is now a category under that. What was a medium-size pick-up is not medium-size anymore. I don't think the Ranger would sold well anyway if it was less big.
It’s sad even this extended cab truck 4x4 weighed only 3400 pounds while even 2WD “small” trucks now are all way over 4000 pounds and are often bigger and more thirsty than even full size trucks from the 90’s. The pre 2010 2WD standard cab Ranger was around 3000 pounds. Compare the light efficient previous Ranger to even a compact SUV of today like the VW Tiguan at over 3800 pounds or Toyota’s smallest truck, the Tacoma, at a very porky 4400 pounds. Bigger and heavier is often not better. Even the current Ranger is a big heavy needlessly thirsty truck.
Blame the safety nazis for a good portion of that. I didn't ask for all this crap but get it forced down my throat anyway. Plus the fact that everyone is running crew cabs nowadays & they expect them to tow what a full-size half ton did a decade ago.
@@acemobile9806 Yes, agree 100%. For some reason in the last 25 years Americans have decided they have to drive around in rolling bank vaults or they will die some horrible death in a car crash and the NTSB and NHSA think that unless we are enclosed in bubble wrap and wearing a 5 point harness to go to the grocery store the children will suffer. 9 more years to retire and move back to the 70's and 80's.
David Oliver It’s less the safety nazis and more the whole ‘Murican love of bigger, heavier, and more impressive, than your neighbor’s truck. The safety standards haven’t changed much since the 3000 pound Ranger. Most truck buyers in America are all about bragging rights. My truck can tow more than your truck. Or my diesel truck has more torque than your truck. Or my stupid aftermarket exhaust that wakes every sleeping baby along my entire every drive is louder than your exhaust. Or pretty much those with a small penis who feel a need to claim some sort of irrational advantage. So our small trucks went from 3000 pounds to 4400 pounds to help insecure buyers feel more macho while in other parts of the world you can still buy a small light fuel efficient pickup.

I fucking need this car
Who else wants the next SVT Lightning to be a Ranger Splash too? Imagine your sick-looking '90-throwback pickup truck with 350 horsepower from an Ecoboost and some beefed-up suspension pulling beside everyone else in their Raptors and Gladiators. It would fit right in!
Nice Isotoners
I remember in 1995 I was thinking about buying a brand new Ford Splash pickup they had a sweet looking black one on the lot it was fully loaded 4x4 supercab with the 4.0 l I took it for a test drive but I did not buy it but they were a hot truck at the time
I'd like to find one of these and do a 2.7 EcoBoost swap there will be a nice daily with plenty of power
The wrecked 4.0 rangers make good 8.8 differential donors .
The 4.0 v6 is a great motor
I learned how to drive a stick in my uncles Ranger Splash, it was old then but I still thought it was a cool truck... I stalled it so many times it died in the street when the battery cable popped off and we couldn't get the hood open lol.
Id buy one right now for 18k so clean and simple. My Dad loved his obs Ranger it was his favorite mini truck.
I got a white one for sale
94 was the first year of the high mount beak light
The light was broken?
. I just know that I guess it had to have been which is weird for a brand new press vehicle
BRAKE?
@@jeepthing98 winner winner!
@@jeepthing98 yeah I'm on mobile
I got a 99 single cab and it’s the most reliable truck I’ve had
those funky driving gloves they use them every review.
Why would the suspension have anything to do with noise levels on the highway?
My first truck in torador red.
Same truck on Baywatch
in red this time lol
Hank Hill's truck before it got hit by a train.
He cried over water found in the exhaust.
Hotlog lmao😂
COMFORTABLE MY TAIL! I rode in the narrowed back with seat on the side like that and it SUCKED!
Who’s here to reminisce after news broke of the new ranger splash?
The new Rangers still don't have room in the back seat even being a so called 4 door. They're bloated in size physically but not in the cab or bed. Basically a small family sedan with an open trunk glued on the back and called it a truck.
a neighbor has one and uses it every day to go to work
🙂
Using an inflation calculator that fully loaded model would be just under $40k if new today. 😳
3500+ ibs. wow , my tiny 14' lexus IS350 weighs like 3700 ibs lol... my how times have changed
Cool 😀
Only difference with mine doesn’t have the extended cab. Wish I could’ve found it in extended cab tbh.
I know Ford Ranger is new reborn, return, and redesigned last year. The super cab and super crew, 2.3L EcoBoost engine, 10-Speed Automatic transmission, and 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain. That’s Built Ford Tough!
but its in a different segment/bigger class... sadly.
@@alexander1485 Every cars gets bigger over time.
What was a compact in 94 is now a category under that. What was a medium-size pick-up is not medium-size anymore.
I don't think the Ranger would sold well anyway if it was less big.
the Audi TT has stayed similar size since introduction...
@@alexander1485 Yes, in a way, and now it disapears because it's not sold enough.
It was always a weird model to begin with. I like that car.
@@alexander1485 I would rather have an older Ranger with Manual Transmission instead of the new one.
RAGNER SPLASH. The Ranger made a Splash
hey do you have the non Superduty F250? the 7 lug, F150 looking truck
my grandfather had a 90s orange Ranger just like that one, it was great and the 4.0 was very fast
