page is on FIRE... just incredible speed. just no one ever like him.
Drummer was so on point man!!
This is Steve Gorman's (drummer) finest hour. Just brilliant.
The drummer sounds like what John would be playing the sound of the drums is amazing when he does the role on the snare everyone was great Jimmys guitar sounds super good
Dude is a menace on those drums 😱 😱 OMG...........if you are a drummer this will be delightful 💡
Jimmy still got it!! His phrasing and licks are right there as if it was 30 years before.
I just love this! Jimmy Page at his best here.
Not really, but the best i can remember post zep.
ya, he was really smokin` hot in the early `70s but, with all those dudes onstage with him, and everyone knowing the music really well, oh hell ya its going to sound fantastic, and it does. i know jimmy had a blast doing these shows. a live show were he plays multiple guitars at the same time, albeit through the hands of a few other guys, its still HIS music.
@@rastapatchmail2357 let me guess, you could do the same or better right. you should work for rolling stone mag. just as bucked up as them.
@@angelwilliams413 wth are you talking about? Lol
John paul Jones' bass line is what made this song to begin with
The most underrated musician of them all.
the bass playing here is more in the background, or under-stated. idont think its any slight towards jonesy by page but, its jimmy`s show so, lets all just focus on him on his this go-around
@@Colstonewall underrated, no. Unappreciated, yes...
AND the lead guitar riff.
AGREED
Jimmy Page shows his talent on being the greatest on this amazing performance ❤❤❤
I've seen the Crows, many times, I would've loved seeing this n the Ten years songs with Page, just awesome...
The way page mixes minor, major, Dorian and Phrygian colours on a standard blues is amazing
Run out of KY, Bro? Myxolidian some Locrian Oil with Ionian grease and keep wanking.
@@robertmcmahon319 guitar scales lol
@@PadawanIan Bet your ass Page never thought about all those scales when he recorded it
or played later (he almost never did, this is quite rare) ... Lol, myxolydian and all this crap.
It was just blues .. did Sumlin or Eddie Taylor play "Phrygian".. sheesh 😂
You´re a bit overthinking it a bit, arent you ? He´s not mixing anything - he just plays the blues,
which is never strictly major or minor.. nor in the scales from a textbook of musical theory..
It just doesnt work that premeditated way.. you bend a string, and you are from Dorian to
atonal in a moment 🤣 this dissecting and using a microscope doesnt work for this music
@@tomasvanecek8626 he doesn’t consciously do it he just does it because that’s what he feels yes he’s heavily influenced by the blues in everything he plays but he did mix major and minor a lot that’s how he gets the sound we all know and love
This band is wonderful to watch and listen to! The main singer is a great dancer🌹Jimmy always perfect.
Big Zep fan from the 70's......I love Robert, JPJ and really miss Bonzo on the drums, but Jimmy with the Crows is some pretty good listening.....
WHAT A GREAT COMBINATION, PERFECT MATCH BETWEEN PAGE AND THE BLACK CROWES, VERY POWERFUL---WISH THEY WOULD TOUR AGAIN, THANKS FOR POSTING...
Yep, this is a really good fit. That’s unusual.
The brother drama did them in. Jimmy wanted to start writing new music with them, and Chris Robinson said “No thanks.” Jimmy was so insulted he called management and quit the band. The Tonight Show performance was their last gig and after they Jimmy mysteriously got “back problems” that never appeared before or since, and they called off the tour.
the 2 extra guitarists really helped tflesh out the songs as compared to Jimmy alone with LZ
I had the honer of seeing Page Perform with Plant In 98' I lost my voice for a week from screaming... It was absolutely amazing.. this is right up there with that
Damn, that was tight.
This kicks ass!
Amazing, not a real Crowe’s fan but this is amazing. Never mind Jimmy, watch the drummer.
Drummer absolutely nailed it. Bonzo would have been proud.
Steve Gorman is one of the most under rated drummers on planet earth
No fckn doubt.......dude is a menace on those drums 😱 omg
Gorman is THE DEAL.
Is it wrong that I'm enjoying the videos of this concert series just as much as any Zep performance that I've ever seen. I mean this is stupendous. They've all integrated with one another. I gotta sit down. Can somebody get me a drink?
double Jack on the way...
He rehearsed them well of course for all this.. there were videos of the rehearsals.. maybe you can still find them. And no wonder it sounds so good - for the first (and last?) time he got all the guitar tracks from the albums played live by skilled musicians.. thats why ;) And they got the vibe right.
The bass is damn near (but not quite) JPJ, and the drums will never be Johh Bonham, but it’s great to imagine the four of them doing THIS version, with this level of production value, live! How much more amazing would it have been, we’ll never know.
In addition to all the cool things happening here that others have pointed out - notice the sheer joy of Jimmy as he's ripping through the end of the song - so awesome to watch! I wish like mad I had gone and seen one of these shows...
What blistering version ! 5 stars !
I just fucking love the bass line to this song; loved it when Plant would riff on top of JPJ playing them scales.
Steve Gorman is killing it on the drums
killing floor
KILLING IT
Pagey is awesome!
This almost like it came of the album. Crazy. Awesome!
I a so happy to see my favorite double CD with images!! I live in France !!
He does a good job on the vocals - close to Robert Plant's version
This was what I reckoned in first place.
That was fantastic - as always.
Man, this is awesome!
I was there, I flew from Rome to watch them in Camden NJ and Jones Beach.
Cool man.... i got flights to new york and Tickets vor jones beach and pnc Art centre for the reunion shows next year..... missing gorman in these shows..😭....greetings from berlin
Saw them on this tour Jimmy really laid it down!
I really think this is awesome! Chris has the perfect blues voice. Love everything he sings & with Jimmy!! Doesn’t get much better in my opinion. Thanks so much for posting this.
Just brilliant!
Wow. This is amazing
Awesome!
Love this 🥰
MY mouth is drooling, cause my jaw just hit the killing floor!
I was at this show!!! Absolutely amazing!!!
So, we dont care @
We do care..lucky!
Page & Crowes having a ton of FUN! AWESOME!
This is a REALLY good performance.
What I like the most about this album is that Robinson does not try to be Plant. He sings in his own style, which has some similarities with Plant, but you can tell he is being himself. And he does an amazing job. A shame they never recorded that original album with Page.
Jimmy really enjoyed this gig😁
Jimmy Page on fire as usual.
Jimmies on fire. I don’t think I’ve heard him play that well before!
One of his best,no doubt...
Heroin free. Does wonders
This is like 1/3 of how he sounded in the early 70s
Wow!!
Just awesome. Would've been a highlight of a lifetime being there. Robinson does one hell of a Plant...come as close to that legendary vocal range as anyone.
Pretty awesome!! 👍🏼
Oh yah.....so good....sweet Jimmy P.:)
great version!
Damn for a second there I forgot it was the crows. Mr Robinson killing it!
Awesome.
love the slow tempo....much more funky...
Yes! Didnt pick that up until u said it!
We were Xing that just put it over the top!
great bass...great bass line
Wow!! Chris sounds fuckin great! Page is shredding here!! Thx 🙏 this is so sick!! Drums perfect. Bsss right on time
Heavy,rock,blues....ahhhwsome...
This is the best version of Lemmon song live by Page even better than 69 he’s a lot tighter and cleaner. Don’t call him sloppy !!!!!
Omg ... the second coming!!
Jimmy's Les Paul can sing and whistle at the same time-Non-stop excitement and mastery!
this IS rock and roll, people
Cool
wow that guys voice ,i never really listened to TBC before
Yep! It was used for Funk #48 & 49!
Man that was awesome!!!!lets not forget ,none of this was rehearsed as a strict rule were going to play this!!!!this is blues at its best ,which means you play what you feel I'll play what I feel!!!!we will meet on the turn around.its just a jam that wasn't meant to be publicly broadcast. That said I'm loving hearing the different tone of Jimmy's guitar!!!!he see and here it first hand all the mods that thing has .that is not a 3way switch lol!!!!thank you for posting
mike golden 7:10 he uses the middle position
Pagey has a tiny toggle switch UNDERNEATH the lower edge of the pick guard, that is a coil splitter.......and he may have a coil tapper under there too. He's had that modification on his #1 Les Paul ( the one he's playing here ) since the early days. He can get all kinds of tones from that axe.
...epic...
Quite simply superb. 8-)
That drummer is tripping balls !!! Playing out of his skin!!!
yard birds guy doing a Zeppelin cover.......and not bad
La puta madre... me han dejado sin palabras... impresionante... para que decir más...
Outside of Hendrix, Page was the best, but how bout the Black Crows rockin this? Wow! It actually sounds like an old cover, which is amazing!
Oliver Stone shreds!
How do you get to go to a concert like that. I’m amazed 😮
Im a purist, but this is some great stuff. Some of Jimmy's best later work.
Us bassist can't get no respect sadly underrated ✌️
Steve is the man
i didnt think that it was even possible to recreate led zepplin plant cant even do a good plant anymore...great job to everyone involved, thank you
jimmy page crowin
That's the Real Deal Neal...that ain't no Whack Attack.
they should show how hard the bass player is working, obviously nobody can top of JPJ.
Waiting for the next reunion of the Crowes (featuring “Mister 100 watt plexiglass top”) in 2924 or sooner. 😎
rock gods rule
damn really... i would have freaked out!!! you are truly lucky!!!!!... i was born to late lol
at least yall got blues avalible when i was a kid about 1968 in rural arkansas , you had too order lps take 3 weeks
Thought it was a shame they didn't do an album and another tour after this one. Thought the mix of Jimmys riffs and writing and the Robinson brothers riffs and writing would have been a great mix on a record, and Jimmy and Chris had a pretty damn good chemistry.
We must have made God happy because he gave us this. Thank you Lord! Radeo stations should play Jimmy and the Crowes at least 3 times an hour. We would be in a better place if they did.
@scrubtek10 - And it's killing me that I missed it - DAMN!!!! LOL!!!!
You can see where Zep had a lot of influence on Jack White, the opening riff of this song sounds like the beginning of Ball and Biscuit!!!
SJB1717 It's also he beginning of Killing Floor
SJB1717 One riff, a lot of influence.... doubt it
I'm exhausted after watching and hearing Page and Gorman rip this killer rendition of one the great Zeppelin songs. But....Chris is over the top and it ain't the first time. Might be his style but knowing when to take it up, AND take it down, is professional, not to mention respectful.
Fck ... that was goooood
What a crazy, heavy song, thanks to Howlin Wolf who wrote it. The guys from Led plagiarized but knew how to work and made a beautiful madness for heavy rock fans.
Well if it wasn't for bands like Zep, Grateful Dead and Widespread Panic who covered his tunes and/or used them as a foundation to explore even deeper dimensions of the musical universe then I might not have ever even heard of Holwlin Wolf. They didn't rip him off, they payed homage and shared his gift with the world. Thanks to these bands I can now sit on my front porch with a glass of sweet tea after a hard day and decompress to Moanin' in the Moonlight...
I'm more impressed by Gorman than anything!!!
Resurrecting the Lemon Led Song///////
Here is a groovy cut!!!...:)O(:...
Fine guitar playing at about 3:00 or so?!?...)O(...
Nobody's Plant, but Robinson perty damn good here. Nice
We have all seen alot...a LOT of people cover zep songs. Robinson is touched. He does it better tha anyone.
a brit with the blues too cool, jimmy was as good as he ever was on this one
omg... Led Zeppelin was back (well, I felt it)... Jimmy hasn't lost anything... Great pipes... nice uses of the drums... I bet it was an awesome experience...
I traveled to NYC tickets in hand to see Crowes and Page..oh and the Who at MSG.....MAN! C@P didn't perform that night bc Jimmy broke his arm or something....seeing this just digs me!
sho nuff got the blues, wouldnt be here tonight down on the killing floor
Its sounds good at 5:50 when the other guitars join in to play that riff.
Lol, I remember when they were literally pulling people off the street to watch The Black Crows, because nobody showed up to watch. Never understood that, they were a great band.
1:50
someone please tell me what that switch is that he flipped.
🤘🎸⚡️
The three combinations of pickup selections available with the three way switch are as follows:
Position 1 - Activates only the neck pickup.
Position 2 - Activates only the bridge pickup.
Position 3 - This middle switch position activates a combination of the two pickups.
