May God continue to strengthen us to be able to bring more stories like this
@@ththim7785The Africans never sold their people. Those who wrote those stories did it to make them look good. Africans were threatened and persecuted to do so and slavery was forced on them. Our ancestors fought them to a point they couldn’t anymore and were captured.

Thanks, wode maya for giving the world quality and factual information about my country, Jamaica 🇯🇲
You always welcome to Africa ❤💯🌹❤️🌎
Wode, We the conscious Jamaicans never forget our African Roots. Nuff Respect.
Growing up in Jamaica as a child, no one told me that I was an African but because of my surroundings, the music and the culture, I knew that I/we were special and that we were strong and that made me love myself and everything about my people. I was always interested in choosing books from the library about Africa to learn more…they were my favorite. Thank God for the Jamaican culture, we know who we are and our future generations are even more educated now about who we are.
AND THEY SHOULDNT..YOU ARE JAMAICAN..STOO THIS STUPID SENTIMENTAL BS .JAMAICA NEEDS ALL THE LOVE .BLACK PEOPLE NEÈD TO LOVE AND CAEE FOR THEIR IMMEDIATE SURROUNDINGS AND ALL WILL DFALL INTO PLACE..WE TOO OVER SENTIMENTAL
The best part of this video to me is when everyone was eating on the table. I felt the spirit of unity…the spirit of Ubuntu.
The heart of Jamaican ghettos beat with a lot of love. They are the source of a lot of Jamaican culture. Only love I feel when I visit Jamaican ghettos. There is no incursion happening in any of the ghettos in Jamaica now. Don't let the past stop you from experiencing the love you will feel when you visit them today.
One thing about us Jamaicans is we know our roots. We are very proud of it
That's a damn lie.... Jamaican don't know anything about their hiatory... Lol😂
Watching from Africa Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 😍
WODE MAYA, you must be a descendant of our national hero, Marcus Garvey. You are now a honorary Jamaican. Too bad our Prime Minister didn’t took the time out to meet with you. What you have done to highlight Jamaica to our African brother and sisters in a positive light has made us more proud. Thank you my brother.
Honestly speaking reason why I love this brother is he's not out trying make any negative video like others CZcamsrs to get more views, this guy he's just out there showing positive and the love he get from going there. I love you brother I start u following since 2018 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ when I was Ghana 🇬🇭
Tivoli Gardens was one of the safest places when I was there between 2007-10. It's actually Michael Coke his younger brother was named Christopher. I also lived in the most volatile place at the time which was Glendavan Montego Bay. The Stone Crushers were the most ruthless gang. You don't trouble people they don't trouble you. Rastafari live!
@rodneiltheodore1347 so sad to hear that Glendevon changed to a crime filled place. Back in my youth, Glendevon, Salem, and Rosemount were beautiful, peaceful places; such fond memories.
Jamaicans are simply the most beautiful, kind, down to earth hilarious people. Truly blessed. The land is blessed. Miss them so much 😢❤
Watching from the Gambia 🇬🇲.
To The Gambian People.
Massive Big Up from 🇯🇲 .
Raspect.
If i could like this a million times thank you Maya
You are amazing
I love what he said as a man from Ghana that he doesn’t like the wigs. Because in Nigeria a woman cannot be seen without her wigs. Which is a big shame
I watch a lot of Nollywood movies and for me, that was one of the things that disappointed me because I wanted to see the authentic hairstyles and not more of the same of the European standards of "beauty"
Yet his wife wears extension braids. Artificial hair is artificial hair.
His wife has Microlocs
@@shinesproductionI feel the same way. I love the Nollywood movies. I get disappointed when I see the wigs. I do crack up when they snatch them off. When I go visit family you see a lot of the wigs and some are bad. They try to get me to buy wigs. I wear sister locs and do not plan on wearing a wig. My husband doesn’t like wigs at all. I was even more disappointed when the female pastor told her people to buy wigs.
I think you should let people wear whatever they want @@kemikemi
I am leaving this comment here so that after some hours, days, weeks, months or years when someone likes or comment on it, I will be reminded to watch this video again

It's good to see that the youths are changing the narative of Jamaica. Jamaica was once the top get a way place for the caribbean.
The paintings are nice, good to see Ghana 🇬🇭 colours there
African flags and the map of the continent can be found in every town and village in Jamaica so Africa is always here we were taught as children from basic school right up to high school obout our roots so who dont know wasn't paying attention.
I really admire the love Jamaicans have for the motherland . Respect from Cape Verde 🇨🇻 Great Job Maya

Thank you for sharing this post. You shed light on a community that is often overlooked and shunned. ❤✊🏾
I was hoping I'd speak to this man in person, while he was moving through the Caribbean but I don't think he stayed long on my island. The bombshell that he quiting CZcams hit hard.
Jungle was always more dangerous than Tivoli. Tivoli had their "own" government that enforced their own rules.
tivioli a nice place
Blessings upon blessings, Wode Maya. May the world see Tivoli in a positive light. I used to play basketball in the early 2000s before I moved to England.
This is the reason I love your content, you did your research before posting. ❤a love
Thank you Wode Maya for visiting my home and also my neighbourhood. I grew up there and it so nice to see the transformation with the beautiful murals ❤. I have fun memories of been apart of Tivoli Dance group and travelling with them to many places and events. Those experiences led me to believe that the sky is the limit and that l could achieve many things in my life. Today l am a nurse and l still feel at home whenever l visit Tivoli.
I've visited Tivoli Gardens on a number of occasions. Great murals and friendly people.
Wonderful!
White people portray that place so differently
@@hiyahiy Not just ‘white people’.
@hiyahiy from my experience as a Kingston Tour guide, foreigners normally visit the likes of Coronation Market, Spanish Town, Trench Town, and Tivoli Gardens to capture content for social media. Whether to portray the area in a negative or positive way, often referring to these areas as slums, no go areas. You rarely see Caucasians strolling through these areas without a camera in their hands. Capturing footage to hype their social media platforms. It has, therefore, become the normal for some locals to perform for visitors, ie.sing dance, joke, etc, and ve seen to be giving them preferential treatment. From my experience in strolling all areas downtown, locals are friendly and accommodating. However, if I were to take out a camera and tried capturing content, as foreigners do, it would be frowned upon unless I conveyed the fact that I was a visitor.

Wode Maya, is like "I love you mhan", the response" how can you love me mhan", "no as a brother". 😂
lol 😂
Maybe we need to tell people we love them more often in Jamaica. There are many forms of Love and it is sickening that the English language only choose one form, Eros.
As Jamaicans we can make anything popular or cultural, so let's say the right word for the form of love we want to say to our fellowman. Choose from the List below. @wodemaya was saying agape- which is love for our fellowman, the love that the Almighty says we should have for each other. To Love your neighbor as yourself is the Agape Love.
So why not say- Agape to our neighbors to let them know we love them as The Almighty say we should. Lets start telling each other the love we have for them by using the right word. See Below:
1.Eros- sexual passion
2. Philia, or deep friendship
3. Ludus, or playful love
4. Agape, or love for everyone
5. Pragma, or longstanding love
6. Philautia, or love of the self

Just like Rastafari Way of life is a manifestation of the fight for freedom and religious expression, Crime is Jamaica is the flipside of that very manifestation.
I must say I thank you from the deepest seat of my emotions for taking through Tivoli gardens. WODE MAYA keep up the great job my brother to the world. ❤
