Lana is fully American but is fluent Spanish due to living in Spain from the ages of 16-20 during her late teenage years!! She also lived in Miami for a while before settling in California so she grew up with Spanish influence!! I LOVE UR REACTIONS TO HER MUSIC. THE PASSION IS HOW WE ALL FEEL WITH THIS ALBUM.
She did not live in Spain until she was 20 lol. She has talked about this in old pre-Lana interviews. She went on a study abroad program and lived in Spain with a host family for a semester. It was when she was 15-16 because she mentioned celebrating her 16th birthday on the plane ride over. She then came back and finished up high school in the US and graduated from Kent when she was 17, a few weeks before her 18th birthday. Then she moved to NYC for college (she went to Fordham) when she was 18, there are many interviews where she talks about moving to NYC at that age. There's no evidence she ever lived in Miami either, she did say she used to go there a lot with friends (Florida is a popular vacation destination with New Yorkers) but she's never claimed to live there.

after revisiting lana's music and REALLY analyzing the music/lyrics/fans, i can say you pick up on the small things most people miss. her influence from hiphop, the old asethetic, how well she slows on the beat. i could swear youre an experienced fan with how much you get it
cruel world is my favorite song by her and i think it being the first song was such a smart move. the intro w the guitars is so dreamy and nostalgic and the story is so captivating. the way she sings at the end seems like she’s tired and she had the perfect voice for this type of music. 10/10 album but yea cruel world 10/10

its not boring, you just can't understand that there are different musical genres. Lana Del Rey literally talks about her entire career on A&W, about her life in kintsugi and fingertips and also about her suicide attempt, the poetry and deep lyrics also in the songs fingertips and kintsugi, her concern for her family also in both songs, lyrics that many can relate to, moments in Lana's life that may have already happened to the listener like "my grandmother's last smile." It's also the album with the best opening, that's indisputable.Discontent with society that some can also identify with in A&W "I mean look at my hair look at the length of it there, and the shape of my body, If I told you that I was raped would you really think that anybody would think I didn't ask for it?" The mention of her grandfather and father suggests a connection to his roots and ancestry, while deep-sea fishing can be seen as a metaphor for the search for deep answers or purpose. Ocean Blvd (the track) is a composition that seems to explore themes of recognition, the desire to be loved and the complexity of self-acceptance that many can also identify with.
