See you on the tabletop! - Hry
6:33 is when he finally gets around to it.
Thanks! I was wondering what this video was about until that timestamp.
Thank you. When the first comment is “too much talking,” this is such a welcome response.
I'd say the Paladin. It takes a little longer to get going, but later on in the series it's an absolute beast - nearly untouchable once you get the Holy Avenger
Fighter duel class cleric, if done right, is better in my opinion. I like to run as a fighter until I get grand mastery in 1 cleric weapon such as Morning Star then duel class over and you're basically a cleric with fighter HP and weapon stats.
Berserker. Rage is OP starting from lvl 1. Plays super nice through the series when you dual into mage at 9/13. Skip downtime by xp through scribing spells.
this is how I wrote my college papers to meet the page requirements
I think it’s actually dwarf defender. Amazing saving throws, natural regeneration, DR of 93% with an ability that’s better than Hardiness at level 1 (helm of dumathoin and defender of easthaven, of course).
100% agree shadowdancer.. hips totally breaks like 90% of encounters through the entire series as long as you have patience.
If we are talking about single classes, either mage or sorcerer, because high level arcane magic makes you virtually unkillable.
If we talk about different dual class builds, any fighter ethos dualled at 9 to mage, not only you have access to arcane magic but you are a powerful frontline fighter also.
Yeah, basically fighter 5, Mage 9. Specialize in bows iirc. you end up with ~ 80 HP which gives you way more survivability, especially when you combine with stoneskin. Seeing as you're going to be at the back anyway, the bow gives you a boat load of firepower between spells.
yeeeeah, say it for ghouls who can stun you from one hit
Cool video, well done
Inquisitors aren't super tough, but their dispel ability is the best tool in the game.
You can so some cheesy stuff with druids. Insect plaque is a i win button against mages.
Without a doubt, Drow Fighter-Mage 2nd Edition :-) F7/8M ending BG1 just absolutely destroyed the mercenary bands single-handedly, including the Sembians before the Temple of Bhaal in the Undercity and Sarevok and his cronies. 2 Stars in Longbow with arrows and detonation and haste potion was absolutely brutal, followed by Web, Stinker, Cloudkill, hopelessness.
Drow isn't playable in BG1 you got elf and half elf you can alter the skin to look like a drow but the stats dont match
I haven't played it through but I am eager to hear.
I dont mind spoilers
Video starts at 4:14 ...probably
Nevermind, it doesn't.
Edwin is broken, Conjurer is broken...
You can actually mod the files on a phone. You just have to do it manually instead of using a program. Programming language is written practically in English. It's really not hard to do.
This is correct I just did it on my phone and tablet, then I had to buy an external keyboard to be able to bring up the command prompts in the game. Works great, just took some research
Single class, definitely sorcerer, dragon disciple, mage, and the arcane specialists (except abjurer). The most OP is berserker dual to mage.
You need a party to develop your mages...
@@greatdude7279 No, you didnt. Starting level 1, with blind, you can farm Ankeghs (blinding them and using slings to kill them slowly but safely), with 6 done, you get from level 1 to 3. After that, you need to get some wands (like the wand of paralization or monster summoning) and memorize invisibility that gonna help trought BG1. With that, being smart with you choices, and use any option you have, you can solo the game (except Durlag Tower and Werewolf Island) In BG 2, with minor glove invulnerability + stoneskin you can go trought Irenicus prison solo again. After that picking easy quest to level a bit, and getting the good stuff (the right spells + the robe of Vecna and the amulet of power).
Baldurs gate 1, most broken classes are ranger and kensai with knives or axe.
He tells you at 12:32
Ranger/rogue/ shadow dancer ruins the game for most people. Hide in plain sight with just a few levels in rogue allows for nasty dual weild sneak atk on a ranger
Imo the best (especially for playing in BG2) is:
Kensai(fighter)/Thief
Sick backstabing damage
Kensai/mage is better. Backstab is nice but all the crazy mage buffs are better
If you dual at 7(which is optimal) you get +3 to hit and +3 damage. In exchange no armor or helmets thru the sagap. Yeah no, thats shit.
@@dontfrythis2458he specifically talked about solo class.
@@greatdude7279 no, he clearly said kensai dualled to thief for back stabs
Mage/thief
Cleric/mage
Done Cleric/Mage Elf. The bookkeeping and hundreds of spells and only limited UI to manage them really bothered me the most. But other than that, you got spells for days and plenty of high lvl slots too
SoD being called bg2 is a bit absurd. It is really BG 1.5. ToB is 2.5. Both also have much more linear playthroughs than BG1 or BG2.
TLDR; shadow dancer is the most broken class.
Most broken class is dragon disciple by alot, shadowdancer is nast but it cant do any bossfight without mage, sorcerer can easy solo anything, dragon disciple does it with like -15ac.
Berserker dualed to mage is a close second (serevok if you set it to lvl up your own companions)
Third is shadowdancer dualed to mage, alot weaker than the other two but the cheese is so real
Fourth is wild mage, technically the most powerful but because its luck based you can lose any fight in one cast.
I 100% agree. My personal favorite class is shadowdancer/mage multi with eekeepr or near infinity. If I ever make it to HLAs I just manually add the shadowdancer ones.
It's all pro and no con. Extra thief abilities, better backstab, extra spell for wizard, hips, and shadow step. Great class.
You are not saying baulder correctly.
Its baulder, not baulder or baulder.
My New York Accent butchers it! Ha!
@@WargamerFritz at least you pronounce it baulder and not baulder
I see what you did there....
Why have you done this?!?
Bowwwweldurr..? 🤷♂️
I played a Dark moon monk. In BG2 its beyond OP.
+3 cold damage for 1 turn, Wow!
Monks are trash
4 apr hits as +4 weapon vs 10 apr +6 weapon with guarenteed hits, fighter duals are so much stronger
@@dontfrythis2458And that without saying that a fighter, can equip armour (and get his bonuses) helmets (no crit + bonus), better hp (monk only get the hp table from the cleric), can get and use better weapons at lower levels than a monk (monk get +2 at level 12 when at that level, you gonna have a couple of +3 weapons), get Master specialization, and can be affected the fighter by improved haste spell atacking 6 in a round (with spec+ spell)
Also in core rules, I find the monks, underwhelming. You can have fun playing them, but they aren't the best warriors
Half Orc Kensai, built to dual-wield Crom Fayer and Celestial Fury in BG2. Pair him up with a wizard and you'll be rolling. Tough duo in early BG1, though.
This video waste of time.
too much talking
6 minutes of edition war nonsense. 🤦♂️
