Hey man question, I'm a SoCal CFI and I've never contacted clearance delivery, or app/dep except for IFR stuff and Flight following. What's the reason you did this here? And why the runway departure? I'm still a new CFI and have lots to learn!
Why do you follow taxi ways when you depart or enter the air field, I would think it would be a lot quicker and cheaper to just depart and enter from the side without having to follow the taxi ways like a fixed wing once you are down out of the circuit. I mean ...your in a heli, not a fix wing, nice vid by the way,👍👍

I can't believe she had you taxi on such a confusing route rather than allow you to depart from position. It's not like the airport was busy.
As a Heli Pilot myself, I ask and question why you request a runway for take off? All the taxiway and hold short non sense! Especially if it’s not a busy airport, just pick up and go???

Haha I just asked for the runway! I could take off from wherever I want in most cases!
Is called Hover Taxiing and it's used in certain situations to help keep the traffic at a given airport all within the same pattern, but in this case here, it can be done for fun!
