Tony came in heavy, he also brought a gun.
Tony came in heavy, so did his breathing
LOL
Ohhhhhh that’s a man’s ziti we’re talking about
Lol
😂
I feel like Dr. Melfi also unintentionally prevented the war between Tony and Junior by suggesting that it is a good idea to give the elderly the illusion of control to preserve their dignity.
Conspiracy theories now?
@@oN3xShOtxkilL Not really, this comment was actually pretty interesting and I never thought about it that way. I mean its well known he picked up a lot of things from Melfi and turned it into street smarts

Lol, when Paulie is being discreet and saying "this isn't the time," you KNOW it really isn't the time
Oh!
Season 1-2 Paulie was way more normal and down to earth than in later seasons though
@@agbrenv I think Paulie was more comfortable then. Later on, being one fo the senior members that actually survive, he was being asked to take on more responsibility that he wanted. You can see him almost wanting to retire at the end.
You hear that tone? I said it isn’t the time.
I love Sil's face like "You did not just say that, you moron" hahaha

Under it all, Tony and Junior really loved each other. I think a part of him was happy that Junior became head of the family, even if it was really Tony pulling the strings and not kicking up the full percentage. Maybe Junior even knew, he just wanted to feel important in the last years of his life and was happy to have Tony on his side again.
Chris and Paulie even killed Junior’s number 2 and he didn’t seem to care.
How could you ever be sure anyone under you wasn't skimming. Or even worse, you aren't and your boss thinks you are.
@@catsupchutneyyeah they all deal 100% in cash. No IRS in the mafia.
I know we see Mikey Palmice acting like the #1 guy but an old guy like Junior would never have a young guy like Mikey be a #2. Mikey was just a soldier, not even a Capo, let alone #2.
@@catsupchutney A lot of people were skimming. For example, it was rather known that Paulie was skimming from Tony and when Tony was almost dead in the hospital, Paulie and Vito didn't want to give up their money to Tony's wife Carmela.

Fucking love that tight shot from 3:03, Tony's hands grasping with greed and drumming out his thinking. Junior's being made king but it's Tony who's got the grip on the family
Cinematography in that scene is superb. Check the continuity in the shot/reverse shot at 2:02 when a Junior sips his coffee, that subtle zoom on that tight shot showing the grip Tony has on Junior's neck...
"You get the crown. I get the throne."
Junior was already drunk from power, Tony knew where about Junior price was.
I love how the strip club isn't even empty but Chris is in there screaming about their business
Exactly, some schmo right next to Christopher too. Plus a few others behind the bar.
You can tell who the real boss is when Tony says one more thing with Junior’s neck in his hand.
That was to give consideration to Junior. He put Junior in the position to give concessions without looking weak to the rest of the Junior's own crew but made it look like he was kissing him on the cheek.
Christufuh had that Defcon scale bass-ackwards. He never had the makings of a varsity Cold War movie producer.
Give him a break will you, he only had one film under his subspecies.

This had nothing to do with Chris. This was Melfi’s direct suggestion and Tony even says almost her exact words to the captains at the funeral.

Wh…why did you type ‘Me:’? Why didnt you just type your comment? Like, seriously, do you have a mental disorder?
I love how Chris was right and that attitude is what Tony lost through his vices and trying to keep appearances. Wanted all the glitz without having to deal with the dirty side himself.
It’s hilarious that Chris says “DEFCON 4”, since a 1 on the DEFCON system is the most severe, whereas a 5 is peaceful. So 4 is only a slightly elevated risk.
Edit: So two possibilities, which we’ll probably never know. Either the writers made Chris get this wrong because his character is kind of dumb, or the writer’s got it wrong because they didn’t look it up and just went with “4”.
Either way, the scene works well the way it is, so whatever.

Engage people with what they expect; it is what they are able to discern and confirms their projections. It settles them into predictable patterns of response, occupying their minds while you wait for the extraordinary moment - that which they cannot anticipate.

Thats so true often times on the pyramid or totem pole of heirarchy there is a boss or leader or several then above that are even higher bosses but truth is the underbosses or those who really run things usually have the heaviest of burdens while those at the very top really do not.
If you watched the whole show this clip makes everything that happened to junior make complete sense.
He’s the best at timing.
