True, we have had our 520d for more then ten years after it was used for at least 4 years. In BMW DIESEL I trust. We also service our car with a guy who used to work for BMW, so that’s why I’ll buy another used BMW.

i had a 2007 323i, with over 330 000ks and i sold it for R75 000 with zero issues on the car, N52 engine was solid!
I'll be honest the 320d,323i, 325i and 330i and 330d are the most reliable of that era considering that the car was serviced annually and Gearbox service was done every 10 years or every 160 000km as advised by BMW if it's auto.. so its safe to say you made a great choice keeping it for that long
This bmw was not bad at all just a bunch of age related maintenance. You got one of the good ones. As for the dealership saw moneybags when you pulled up😂.
I would say you are 4-5k in so far and then another 6k should make it neat and ready to clock 500k so long as common issues are sorted
I think so far he also proved that a lot of times, it's the people are that are buying used lemons without doing their researching. A lot of them are looking at the price and don't even know how to properly assess the dekra report and service history. As long as it's within their budget. They make an UNinformed purchase and cry tears of movite afterwards.🤞🏻

I bought my E90 325i at 12k’ kms I’m now at 315k kms and still running strong, like a champ, in-fact the way it drives is unbelievable, i want to drive this car to 1million kms!!
I had a E90 320d that I bought at 45000kms and drove it until 350000kms without any major issues and was maintained regularly, I now have a F30 320d and it's just as good as the E90 was

We had my Moms car like this BMW 2006 but ours was an M sport 320i also fully maintained and running smooth, first owner. My brother sold it for R40k in 2022. :( :( and im still so upset about it. It had a sunroof and everything, leather seats, never hit a pothole..a good car and was this lovely titanic silver color. Lovely cars. Anyway that my lil story for your subscribers haha.
On a positive note I own a 2004 Toyota Runx which my Dad bought from new. Its a 1.6 and is in mint condition..I will hold on to this car :).
What was the mileage on the 320i when your brother sold it?

@@MuziSambo the right price I'd say should be between R75k and R90k for a good m sport variant..however I've seen them on sale for R120k to R150k. The R40k it was sold at was a mispricing and a rushed sale.
What's the mileage on your RunX? I had mine (2003 160i RS) from 58000 km's to 369000 km's. Only issues were brake master cylinder @ 140k, fixed free under ext. warranty, and gearbox trouble at 330k. Otherwise, it ran like a clock. BTW, I still think the gearbox was due to some careless driving... long story, not telling!

Got it as a preowned (@67000KM), and it has not shown me anything uncomfortable. But I still drive with my heart in my hand as it's my first ever car and hope never to get any problems. So far it's been a super nice ride, am loving it ❤️

I learned from crazy expensive prices.I buy used, buy parts and fix myself, German or not if I need special tool I get. Mara to be honest I lean towards Japanese like Toyota those are value for money and Last forever.
You should do a full generational upgrade to the F30 shape. Xenon headlights, bumpers, grille everything. Would look a million times better

If you were near PTA , i was going to recommend spares called "Vuka spare" near Mabopane/Soshanguve.... u'll enjoying driving and maintaining BMW at affordable price.
E.g. F30 front brake pads only R450 , rear pads R380 ... high quality pads .. with no braking noise ...
These 320d's are pretty reliable, you can easily get another 100 000kms out of it with regular maintenance.

I do it on weekends and you apply online to become a driver partner.
I have a 2017 Ford Focus 1.5 ecoboost with ultra low mileage and fully specced as in all boxes ticked. The engine is notoriously known to fail in American Fusion and Escape models. There's nothing wrong with the car but honestly I have trust issues with it so I never play any music whilst driving. I know the main failure points but still I'm never fully trusting it. At 134kW and 240N.m it is quite peppy especially on cold days when it's not pulling ignition timing.

Crankshaft pulley is expensive if you buy it original. Aftermarket parts vibrate more on the idle.

The part where u said u don't drive with a radio on so u can hear every sound the car might make i don't blame u. I bought a mint 2017 renault sandero 900t last year for 75k with only 100k.km on the clock and from a dealer the car looked too cheap for the price. I asked those people what problems does the car has and they said non. That was las year and i used to drive with no radio because I didn't trust the car had no problems. Since then the only thing ive changed was breakpads and coolant bottle coz it cracked. Ive driven over 30k.km with the car and the car has no problem whatsoever
You should document the taxi industry when you get a chance .the pros and cons of buying from dealers such as I&s,Sa Taxi and straight from Toyota ,different finances for taxis (especially TOYOTA QUANTUM ) . People are getting robbed there,i know a guy paying 17k a month for a rebuild quantum from Sa taxi and another one paying 14k for a brand new from straight from Toyota
