A message and Respect to all of our Vets from Vin and Sori!
"No one loves a warrior until the enemy is at the gate"
That's a perfect saying. Thank you.
I was in the Military now I'm to old but NY nieces and nephews are in the military I love my little ones Democrats have the money to fix things but there too gteedy
@@aarondavis5535 i'm a vet too pal. I dont see trumptards even pretending to tossing any money our way. Do you? When have you ever? It's not just one side or the other. Its not just from this era. The government we fought for just doesn't care.
I’m a disabled veteran, the only one who owes me is the government which I signed a contract with. To call someone Tard shows your complete disregard and lack of respect for certain people I swore an oath to defend. If you have that much hatred in your heart for people I suggest you go see a mental health professional before you hurt someone.
@@Tanlantas you must always be sad
"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night, because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf". - George Orwell
Thats honestly a damn good quote, not to mention true.....
The end really gets me. “You know me. You saved my life brother”
I cry to that part every time.... I just finished my 6 years in service and its hard going back as a civilian. I have my reasons why I didn't stay longer but becoming a civilian again is still very scary.
Its painful seeing anyone crying the message alone will do that, but damn... when that guy start breaking down at the end I just lost it. Seeing a man cry is hard as hell to watch. 😥
Definitely cut deep. And the way the roles switched. How in the end he picked him up to save him the same easy the white guy picked the black guy up by the vest overseas. Im not proud of it but damn every time I listen to this I break down.
@@ChrisS.WyoBraska there's no shame in expressing emotion. If you didn't, it'd be more cause for concern. I'm just glad there are bands and influencers like 5FDP that are willing to highlight these issues and actually do something about it. Maybe we can't afford to donate much but we can always show appreciation to our veterans and help them where we can.
And it helps if you can read lips.
I'm a combat Vet. This saying has always hit home for me..."The soldier, above all others, prays for peace. For he alone has seen the horror of war".
Thank you for posting such a great and insightful comment. I am also beyond grateful for your service in the military. You should be thanked by everyone you meet on a daily basis. You are a true role model and hero as far as I'm concerned. You should be paid more than any athlete or member of Congress. Your service is truly priceless.
thnx for your service.
Same……. Stay strong, brother. Be a beacon to other veterans. We all struggle and cope differently. Take care of you, and take care of others vets too.
Amen brother
Thank you brother
Regarding God being a "She"--this is purely my own personal interpretation, but these lyrics are written from the point of view of a soldier. When an old man faces death, he's most likely to call out to God. When a _young_ man faces death, he's more likely to call out to his Mother.
Wow. I dident think of it like that.
"Mother" is the name for God, on the lips and hearts of every child.
The infantry is named "Queen of Battle."
Follow me.
I come to this from a pagan view of Gods and Goddesses.
Beautifully spoken
I spent 6 years in the marines. Thank you guys for letting my brothers and sisters no matter what branch of service know people do care.
No doubt! Semper fi!
Semper Fi devil. Doc approves of this statement!
From A Soldier to a Marine. Thank you brother. You spoke my heart above
People care my man. Don't let the politicians or media tell you otherwise.
I care
For 50 years I watched my Dad battle his demons from 2 tours in Vietnam..He never spoke of what he went through while he was there. No one will ever know what these true heroes had to endure while there.. Like my Dad they quietly take it to their grave.. Thank you so much to each and every Vet.
Speaking as a Marine Vet, I can say that there are no words to accurately describe what we've been throughc or what we had to do. And, to try and describe it to my own family... to put them through, what I've been through... what I had to do... I just can't do that to them. I only want to protect my family and will do ANYTHING to make sure that they never have to see, or experience, hellish things in life. I only want to keep them pure. I think a lot of other vets feel the same. I hope that my explination of why I can not talk to my family about it, helps you to understand your dad a little better. God Bless, and know that you were worht it.
Ol Metal Head63 My Dad served in Vietnam also
I don't know if He'd seen anything like the shit that your Dad had seen, mainly because My Dad passed away when I was 4 years old and I never got to that much more about my dad's life
I have been told some horror stories by nam vets. And believe you me it gave me vivid nightmares. So im glad he never told you just trust me you dont wanna know.
I'm sitting here crying. This song always gets me. I'm about to go on my 3rd deployment to stan. It makes a huge difference just knowing that people care.
stay safe. we love you
I hope you make it home and find peace
Semper Fi do or die here, watch your six, keep your head low but your chin up....you'll be fine.
You get home safe and protect your brothers and sisters. It I see you on the other e of the deployment I'll buy you a drink my friend.
You.... You're actually proud about invading another country and killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people? Let me guess. You think you're a hero right?
Marine vet here, thank you for honoring our soldiers, too many of us fall to the wayside unrecognized by many. I lost a knee in the service, but my neighbor, an army vet with 2 tours, lost it all, by his own hand. There was just not enough help to go around. For those who are interested, in Kansas City, we have the Tiny Homes for Vets project. It's a neighborhood of Tiny Houses built by vets for vets who have nowhere else to go. They are given a home, a job, and the help they need. Hundreds of Vets are no longer on the street because of it, and that number is growing.
I plan on going into the Marine Branch
Outstanding.
Thank you for you’re service I also plan on going into the usmc
That’s a brilliant idea. I’m Australian, but thankyou for your service from us. We’re all in it together
I'd like to remind Vin that it's not all guys. My favorite WOMAN left her human legs and her piece of mind in Afghanistan.
Human legs? As opposed to spider legs?
True but 99.9999% have been men.
@@cyclone8974 guys is also commonly used as a gender neutral term
@@cyclone8974 Only because we were held back from fighting for so long. We've WANTED to fight all along. Yes, more men are in the military, thus more men go to fight, but as woman are allowed in combat more and more, we'll see more of us come back with combat injuries, illnesses and issues. Matter of time.

not even remotely the point
My wife is a vet, as well as my son in law who served in Iraq, my wife says part of the problem is the military teaches you a mindset to kill but dont teach you how to shut it off when you are done or come home. My wife is working on her masters in counseling so she can try to help the vets and homeless that are just forgotten and pushed aside. This video really gets to her...
Army infantry vet here. I’ve already thought every vet exposed to combat should be required evaluations constantly during mandatory transitional rehabilitation services.
There should be facilities outside of US and any other civilian populated areas. Services and resources being provided in reaction method fails, has failed, and unless there is preemptive measures, will fail soldiers of every generational war we’ve known and also future generations will have failure predetermined. What were conditioned to do is to prevent that very thing we’re ready to die from it taking place here, but when we’re done that conditioning is similar to expecting a person high on autism spectrum to be productive in a world that neither accommodate. Not only do they not mesh but they furiously repulse each other.
I’ve written 3 congressmen a couple years ago hoping maybe something would grow out of my thoughts but idk.
I know it might not mean much on here, but please hear me out. I am a veteran, and I did see some things. I also have plates in my legs and skull, and shrapnel throughout my body. I don't think I am a hero by any means, as a lot of the men were either drugged, afraid, or desperate to improve their family situations no matter how. The heroes, to me, were the ones who didn't make it home. Now, when I have a borderline panic attack because of fireworks sounding like shots or explosions.. I get made fun of. America didn't ask me to serve. I did that on my own, because I wanted to feel like I helped people by doing the things I never wanted my people to have to do, and keeping them safe. because of that, I don't ever expect to be thanked. when people thank me, I almost tear up, because of the ones I see in my nightmares who didn't make it home. but I wanted to say thank you for what you did here, and the songwriter. it actually quite touched me.
Dillon Snyder oh bro it does Matter you do matter you are not in no way shape or form worthless just because of what you did you are a hero in your own way and in your life you do bro trust me your not alone and you will never be you do matter you lie means something thank you so much for what you’ve done you’ve totally got me bro you got my support and my back
Thank you brother. For a long time I thought I was the only one who got freaked out by loud fireworks and low flying helicopters. It still affects me but I'm trying to get used to it. Best of luck to you and I hope you work through it. 5/857 FOB.
Thank you for your service sir...most people don't understand that the ultimate sacrifice is not being able to walk on ur home soil again...but, by those that make it back they will walk alongside you for the rest of ur time on our home soil...my Father was a Jolly Green Giant gunner and my Mother was a Medevac
Fireworks suck !!!!
OIF1 vet
You never have to be sorry for what you did. And you and the deceased soldiers were and are the heros. Just need to make help available. We as the USA need to do that. Not the vets. We need to cater to them . They catered to us by giving us our freedom. Let's help to keep this The Land of the FREE.
Not a huge fan of the band...but as a 9 year VET i can not watch this vid without breaking down....
Mark Clark not a fan and neither a vet but this still breaks me down.
The band is comprised of veterans so they are very involved in vets needs
Josh Hodges doesnt make them a good band but i definetily rate them as persons.
Mark Clark Thank you for your service!
Yea, 14 year vet and still serving..marine 0311 and now Army. everytime I see this I can't help it, it's rough...I try to be hard, but when it comes to this...I break down.

@@vernonchampion Thank you for your services. Let me ask you something, if I may. This may be a terrible analogy, but people spitting on Vietnam vets is like Star Wars fans treating the actors like crap, even though they didn't write the script, so why weren't those idiots blaming the government instead of the vets? It makes no sense to me.
@@lelouchvibritannia4028 I don't really know. Maybe they just needed someone to blame for the hate.
@@lelouchvibritannia4028 because of the hate in their heart. Vets would do horrible things to keep the ones they love safe and free and the only thing that is seen is the horrible things. The media would only demonize the servicemen, servicemen are only humanized if they agree with the ideology pushed at the time. Its ungreatful fools who choose not to recognise that the servicemen did those things so that they dont have to. The servicemen goes through the mental anguish and mentally kills themselves for a majority that generally doesnt care.
14 year vet, I saw FFDP over there , You have no idea how it feels to know some of these bands will put themselves out there for us veterans. Thank you all Veterans and those fighting for us still.
I spent 12 years in the Marine Corps. 5 combat tours. The horrors of war are lost upon those who haven't experienced it. I have nightmares every night. I wake up every morning and contemplate eating a bullet. We vets lose our homes, our minds, our families, all because we can't live with what we've done. The VA doesn't care. The counsellors just try to drug you up and throw you away. People don't understand what it feels like to have the world lie to you. When we put on that uniform, we go over there and shed blood, end lives. They promised us we would be taken care of. All lies. We're shit on. 22 Veterans a day commit suicide because we can't take it anymore.
Please BD falldorf please keep holding on...if you had all the money at your disposal what would u do to help Vets since u know and see the problem? Thank you for serving! Also we are thinking about doing a podcast especially for Vets. If u have any ideas for that we would be open to listen. Email us vinandsori@gmail.com
We send our love to you friend -Sori✌🏻
BD Falldorf Brother you are more of a man then I could ever be. I appreciate your loyal service to protect millions of strangers you will never meet. I pray for our service members daily, not knowing what your going threw because I’ve never served. I have a good friend that served in the Marines for 20 years, and says he was lied to his whole life. By the Marine corps and the government, he also has very hard days trying to find where he belongs and dealing with his daily activities while on tour. Stay strong brother, and I’m so sorry that our loved veterans and being thrown a bottle or bottles of pills for supposedly being cared for. Good luck!
Buddy check, Doug
A good song, a depressing video, but I love the band, and very much respect that they put out this message. FFDP does a great job of supporting the troops, it means a lot to me, really.
Nihilistic Reaver thank you for your service
Those god damn invisible ninjas chopping onions again damn you!
jolol4 Yeah, those Ninja's are like camouflage condoms
You can't see them coming
I am a 100% disabled vet at 27 three spine surgeries in under a year and my foot doesn't work.. I can't do the things I used to love and still do. Take care of of your selfs y'all

Much love to you !
Stay strong brother! Drive on and keep that head up! Im always around if you need an ear or a shoulder! ~ Doc.
To those who will read this,
To all the veterans, thank you for your service and sacrifice. God bless you and may the Lord watch over you and your family
This song hits me so hard, my dad was a Vietnam vet, he came back with PTSD and he self medicated, he ended his suffering in 1986 just 4 weeks before my 9th birthday.
I’m sooooo sorry
I'm sorry
I’m sorry
Sorry to hear ❤
Also, Vietnam was the first war that had journalists and cameras there to document the battles. It completely changed the nation's idea of war. Especially when shown by the media.
Sori... I'm a vet and i get the same reaction everytime i hear this song or see the video... so powerful is this message they put out.
Well thank you Dyton Edwards for everything -Sori ✌🏻
Dyton Edwards thank you for keeping me safe in the world
Thank you, sir. Truly.
I remember after my 3rd deployment a close friend of mine told me that every time I came back I was a darker person even though I didn't feel I had. Thank you for acknowledge us vets.
4 marines, 2 airman, 3 special forces, I think my family has given everything
I served in the British SAS for 10 years, joined when I was 27. I had the great opportunity to serve with men from the US army amazing lads. This song is a beacon of hope for me and lots of fellow veterans, I felt the same way as the people in the music video, In my 9 th year in the service we were deployed in afghanistan on Christmas we had 10 men in the barracks 3 of whom were in my squad,I slept in a ditch that night 2 men who were supposed to be watching guard went out partying with the others who were awake, some taliban threw a grenade into the barracks killed 3 of the closest people I've ever known. I survived with a 1st degree burn on my back. Spent my Christmas Day in England handing out dog tags to the parents of my fellow brothers. I was discharged after the army noticed my mental health I have never felt so useless in my life I was discarded like some piece of rubbish, the only thing that kept me from ending myself are my wife and 2 daughters. I would never have wished my children to have the same fate as me, my father was an army veteran as well 8 years with the British army and 9 years with the SAS he was diagnosed with ptsd I remember that when I was 11 years old he woke up and started strangling me, he meant no intend to harm me he wasn't himself 2 years after the incident he shot himself he couldn't take it anymore. My mum had to work 2 jobs and I had to start working at age 14 just to help feed my family. 22 SAS regiment 8 years. 23 SAS regiment 1.5 years. Lance corporal Sid William Evans
Wow appreciate your service !!! Even if you weren’t American it must have been hell getting into the regiment! You’re a special breed my man, and I’m sure you know that already. I don’t know what your beliefs are but I believe everything happens for a reason you’ve got another chapter coming !
VinAnd Sori Thank you, could you please do a video on a song called "British soldier" its about the war In Ireland it's an amazing song for us British vets, it brings up a lot of memories for me and my family as well as other fellow Brits who had fathers and grandfathers serving during the Irish rebellion. Please do a video on it not many people know about this song but I'm sure everyone will love it. Thanks a lot
From across the pond, thank you for your service.
Kuka Mon even though you didn’t serve in the US military I want to send my condolences for your loss of your father and of the brothers and sisters you served alongside, and I would also like to thank you for your bravery and your service.
Kuka Mon OMG, I can't even begin to imagine the hell that you went through during your tenure in The SAS while in Afghanistan and having experienced PTSD, not just first-hand, but also from your Dad having to deal with PTSD and the fact that he nearly strangled you without realizing that he was doing this to his own son
I offer my condolences on the loss of your father, I wished that he could've gotten the help that He'd needed to deal with his PTSD and I hope that you're getting that help yourself
I also want to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and I thank you for your service, even though you served in another countries military
I am the son of a father who was drafted and fought in Vietnam. I love my father and am extremely proud of his service, even though my father has mixed feelings about it. I have the most Respect and Admiration for our Service Men and Women. Thank you all for your Service! I love you all for it and will keep you all in my prayers.
I lost my older brother in desert storm. An this song is always hard for me to listen to and watch. But our family was always proud of him for the service he did. Thank you for doing this song great reaction . Thank you to all the military for all you do.
Martinezjoe74 All give some. Some give all. God Bless.
Aaron A. Foster thanks bro
I had PTSD when I got back. I've come to realize that PTSD is simply a state of denial. A veteran keeps trying to pick up his civilian life where he left off and he's unable to do so. You don't get better from PTSD, you just accept that this is your new life now. I still scan for weapons. I still sit with my back to the corner of the room, watching the entrance. I still look for possible sniper positions. It's not PTSD, it's just what I do now. There were certain ticks I had to get over, like rocking back and forth, the nightmares, and the blinking and twitching, but some stuff is permanent. And personally, I've come to see my "hypervigilance" as a good thing. I'm more prepared than everyone else.
Bro I dont know what to say, I avoid people and I'm always looking out for threats or suspicious behavior. I dont regret the army but it did change me. Unfortunately my buddy took his life 3 years ago now and I blame it all on me. I was the big brother to the people i served with. The hardest part for me is my anger. Its like its multipled and I cant sleep and I always wake up sweating and my heart racing. The va just wants me take pills to make me feel better but I refuse it. I just live 1 day at a time but most days i hope i don't survive it
Thank you both for your service and sacrifice. God bless you
I know how you feel bro I can't do crowds anymore and I always watching my surroundings especially buildings.
4years in the Marine Corps infantry with a deployment to Afghanistan under my belt. thanks for y'alls support. Really enjoyed your take on things.
Enjoyed your reaction to this song. I’m a Purple Heart recipient with 3 deployments. You two are true patriots.
Thank you! -Sori✌🏻
Thank you very much, Tim. You too, are a patriot. To defend your country and the people in it, despite the criticism. I'll never see it through your eyes, but I know it can't be easy. I have more respect for the armed forces than words can describe.
Unless your name is not “Tim Herring” you sir have not received a Purple Heart, so get your stolen valor out of here, if anybody else wants to fact check this, you can go to the Purple Heart hall of fame online and find that his name is not on the list, people like you make me so mad, trying to be something you’re not, there is no excuse for someone to make up lies like this, I’d be willing to bet that any Purple Heart recipient would not openly disclose that in a CZcams comment, its only people looking for attention, because they know that nobody is gonna call them out on it, stolen valor is actually a criminal offense and I suggest that you stop doing it.
Tim Herring if you need ANYTHING I'll do my best

An NCO I worked with took his own life last week. Still bummed about it. He was such a kind person. Rest easy SSgt. Collier. You will be missed.
Always! Sorry to hear that my man!!
I didn't know him, but he will be missed. Think about the signs you saw and work to prevent another. I've been there and afterwards I realized the signs were there. I just didn't recognize them at the time. SGT M. Campbell, 8-18-2001 (RIP).
my condolences
As a 4 year Navy vet, Thank you for doing this video. It is a moving message considering how our vets are treated today. Much respect to you two. Our combat vets have to make split second decisions and sometimes the consequences of those actions put our combat vets in a very bad place mentally. It is something that haunts them for a lifetime. Some can make peace with it on their own, some need help and the Government doesn't help. Again, Thank you for your thoughts and support.
15 yr Navy Vet here, and brother I know what you mean.
I'm an army vet and this song hits me hard really hard, of all my brothers and sisters
I feel this song on so many levels, was homeless for 3 years when I got out PTSD still haunts me hearing screams, gunfire, explosions in your head as your sleeping waking up thinking that you're still in it to only realize it's just your own memories haunting you. The worse dream ever is the sound of a kid screaming as rounds fall the scream sounds like it' literally in your face so of course, you will wake up looking around your house for that scream...........people have no clue. We might come back from the war but the war truly never ends. Nine Line helped me find myself.
My father was a 21 year veteran, he joined when I was 3, and we'd always had a very tight family, and then in 91, when I was a senior in high school, he had to go to Iraq.. When he came back, you could just tell something was off. He was never really the same after that, he didnt ever want to talk about it, hid all the pictures he had from over there, and again, he was just never really the same. I really believe he had severe combat PTSD, altho we could never get him to go to the VA for help with it. At times he would just break down and cry, and wish he were dead, and then sometimes he was ok. In the end we lost him to a heart attack in 2012, and every day I think about him, and wish I had the foresight back then to try and make him go to the VA for help. I know that's just hindsight talking but I think it the same nonetheless. Thank you for this and the recognition and Sori really touched my heart with her emotions. God bless you guys.
Also, I know for my birthday thing I have it for donation for veterans and homes for them, for serving their country.. Another bud has his birthday donation set up for veteran suicide donations.
❤️Steven even your comment made me cry...According to Christian theology all the people of God will sit around a table and have a meal together...introduce me to ur dad on that day. I’d love to see that reunion! I felt ur pain and regret as I read. We send our love to u. -Sori🤟🏻
Thanks I would be more than happy on that day to introduce you for sure. Even tho he's been gone since 2012, sometimes the loss feels as fresh as yesterday, cause while I was growing up, for me and my brother and sister, we had Superman living in our home, in our father, and to watch him change after 91, in Iraq, was devastating.
Steven, i'm an Army brat who has lost parents as well. I hope your heart will heel soon! It will never be the same. Some days are worse than others. But just remember he is content and awaiting you in a new life. Till then try to remember the good times.
Steven Shouse sorry to hear that mate. That’s a very emotional story! It’s horrible what these soldiers have to go through. Unfortunately they risk their health to keep us alive. We can only appreciate what they have done for us, but they do need help, but pride is a very strong thing in soldiers and males in general.
Only 1% of the nation serves in our military. Of that 1%, only 1% retire. Being in the military is definitely not for everyone. It is a physically demanding, mentally challenging, emotionally wrecking experience. I am forever grateful that I made it to the end. I do not, and will not ever, regret a nanosecond of my service. Thank you for recognizing us.
Ronald Guidry thank you for your service!
Thank for your service and God bless you.
Ronald Guidry I salute you, sir.
Vin and Sori, I just heard your review, straight up, I'm a Desert Storm vet, I'm happy to hear that somebody gets it, I still feel guilty everyday because I made it home and so many of my brother s didn't. I still wander if today is the day I chew on a bullet. This video really hits a tough place for me, I will be a soldier until I'm dead, and what I've done will haunt me forever. Thank you. I saw the devil today and he looked just like me.
My man! Thank you for your service! Your next mission is the best one, get whole my friend !
Keven Hastings I thank you for your service
Based on what you have said about feeling guilty about the brothers and sisters that you served with in Desert Storm not coming back home and you did, to me, that sounds like a classic case of survivors guilt
I understand that you feel guilty about this and I don't know what I can do to help apart from keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and suggesting that you are getting help dealing with these feelings of guilt, but I will be keeping you and every veteran who's going through this type of situation in my thoughts and prayers
I want to thank Five Finger Death Punch...... SOLID.... To bring awareness to so many young and old, Vet and Civil, I have watched a few reaction videos like this...and your reaction .... your not alone!! and many have said the same thing..." I had no idea".. And all of those stats are true and are on the rise. Thank you for taking the time to do this reaction video... Call out ... Desert Storm ..90'
Thank you for your support. As a veteran of 11 years it means a lot that you support us. Many thanks to all my fellow vets, and to the ones who are still fighting May you make it home safely.
James Jacobs you really are completely ignorant. I could go off on you with no remorse, but I like to live by the saying “ I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend your right to say it.” You just keep believing what you want to while the men and women who are defending your freedom may not make it home
Shout out to all veterans on memorial weekend!!
Thank you for your sacrifice and service!!
Thank ya'll so much for doin this video. I'm a US Marine Veteran who signed up on 911 at 19yrs old. I was in Iraq in 2004. I deal with PTSD n my wife n family has been through hell with my mental condition. I have lost close Brothers to PTSD. I want to Thank ya'll Semper Fi
Thank u for all u have done for me to b free 🙏🙏 🙏
❤❤❤
Thank you for you’re service I’m planning after I get in shape to go into the Marines
Thankyou for everything you did
I can't watch this music video without tearing up. I am not a veteran, but I come from a long line of servicemen that offered their lives at the altar of freedom willingly sacrificing themselves for me. These men and women must live every day knowing their brothers and sisters fell beside them for a country that doesn't care about them and even hates them. The wars never ended for these great people, and it's time for us, as recipients of their sacrifice, to fight for them. God, bless our soldiers, and help them to overcome the hell they lived through. And give the rest of us the steeled resolve to lift our warriors out of their pain and help us to praise their sacrifice. Amen
Tru story !
I remember explaining to your child that you died as a hero. I remember telling her that you were amazing, and how many lives you saved. You never got to see your daughter. Yet, I put your flag across your coffin. Your sacrifice will never go unforgotten, PFC Titus. Never. Never will I forget you. Never....
GOD BLESS EVERY VET 🙏🙏🙏. THANK U SO MUCH FOR MY FREEDOM 🙏
Fuck them. Taking a paycheck to kill innocent civilians on the other side of the planet. Bunch of fucking cowards.
Thanks you to all the vets out there!! And that's not enough but thank you!
Sondra Lynn we will take what we can get!
Youre welcome
For what exactly? They have done nothing but get paid for killing innocent civilians in the name of corporate profits. Veterans deserve evey bit of hate they receive. They aren't human beings. They are stupid, demented trash.
James Jacobs shut the fuck up you piece of shit, you’ll never amount to anything close to what veterans have done for their country. You’ll be crying out for them if the enemy comes to your door
Been civil for 12 years, Still got some issues of ptsd from time to time, its hard to live with and Hard to explain to others.
Henke Ragge I’m sorry you have to deal with this man thank you for your service I really wish I could help all the veterans
Find a corpsman... not denigrating any other medic corps just speaking from my own experience and training.... they will listen and talk you through the worst things
Henke Ragge. There's no need to explain. We Vets know the pain that you feel. I feel the same way as you. Just know us vets got your 6.
Henke Ragge reach out Brother, there are plenty of us out here who get it and will walk through the darkness at your side.
H-MINUS
This song always brings me to tears! How we treat our protectors is not right, respect and admiration is what they deserve! And yet they get our judgement, police calls, and foul treatment! Always treat others with respect because you never know what they have been through or done for us as a society!
Emil Anttila the worlds freedom. Protecting us from the horrors of Islam. It’s the wrong war we are fighting but don’t disrespect the troops that put their lives on the line.
Easily your best reaction video yet. As us Australians say Lest we forget. Praise them never forget them and always give a hand when its needed.
As a European, i think there could be the other problem. US soldiers was fighting in quite many wars, but that wars were "virtual" for society. Your boys were fighting somewhere, far far away in some place at the end of the world. As a Polish, I can touch, and put my fingers into the bullet holes in buildings, done during WW2 in my city. In Poland we was fighting because we lost families. Our enemies, were on our streets, in our homes. My grandmother was 6 year old when Russia and Germany build front and were fighting near her village. On spring she was looking frozen potatoes on field between dead german and russian bodies. They were so hungry, so they do anything to eat something. In Poland during WW2 we lost 5,8 millions people... kids, wifes, sisters, fathers. Every soldier lost someone, and every soldier wanted only to kill as many german soldiers as he could.
In US most of wars touch only soldiers and their families. Society don't understand why soldiers have to go to Asia to kill some Asians. Of course government was talking something about peace and destroying communism. But in Los Angeles, Washington, New York and most cities in US, everyone felt quite safe.
I think you have a VERY good point. Thank you for your insight.
Our friend's and family were in the twin towers, the enemies were in our yard. You can find new shit on 911 everyday. Lots of people jumped to there death because they didnt want to burn alive. The terrorists are still attacking us, they have beheaded us. Raped us, bombed us, shot us etc. Not just over seas but here too. They say all the time they want to. The fight is still going.
@@gunsodin5299 We forgot pretty quick, didn't we?
August 1st, 1944 --they day the Polish people said NO MORE! The Warsaw Uprising of 1944 against their Nazi occupiers started on this date. I hope to be in Warsaw on the anniversary of this day at 5:00 PM once before I die. I want to witness "W" hour on Polish soil with my own eyes with my wife and son at my side. Długo żyj Polska! Warszawo walcz!
I see your point.
When I visit Hickam/Pearl Harbor they have numerous buildings from before WWII that are still used, huge chunks blown away, bullet holes, they just left them as visible reminders that we aren't always all that far from war. It's sobering to run your hands over the damage
As a 21 yr Veteran and had 4 Combat deployments, to make it simple we are trained for War but not trained (basically offered very little assistance) when we return. Been retired 5 years now and still struggle.
Just saw your comment, and wanted to check in on you brother. You have a big family that cares for you. We are here. Love and respect.
God bless all that u have done for me to b free🙏💀. Much much RESPECT 💯
Very true. Drinking and drugging during downtime because of what one goes through contributes to mental health issues. Sad.
I hate to see Sori cry, but I think it's powerful to see how much it moves. It matches the mess I was after the first time I saw it.
And the way I read the 'God' and 'Devil' thing was more moralistic? Your good side wonders what you've become, you're no longer 'good' enough to get a place in heaven, since you've killed. And the Devil would then be your bad side, but are you really to blame for your bad side? I mean, you may not belong in heaven, but you surely aren't bad enough to deserve hell. I mean, you stood up for the people and country you love to keep them safe! But you did shed blood for it. I can understand the duality in the mind, where you don't deserve heaven, but don't think you're bad enough for hell either. Which leaves you interestingly, in purgatory, which I think works as a metaphore for being homeless and helpless. You're not dead, but you're not alive either.
I held in sooo many tears -Sori✌🏻
What a great reaction. This video still brings me to tears. I think of those that served with me, before and after that didn't make it home. R.I.P. brothers and sisters.
Semper Fidelis
I was National Guards for 6 years never did my time over seas so not a hero like these guys, but I respect the hell out of you guys for this conversation! I wish nothing but the best for the Veterans out there and I cant help much either with money but I feel like even just respectful words and a help up like the end of the music video means the world to them! We need to honor them more then just 1 day of the year, and it sucks being out now, I respect every moment of experience I got while being in, thanks Vin and Sori for this video!!
A Lieutenant Colonel......never forget. Lives changed forever, never the same person, full of regret. Never forget.
Bless u 🙏
@@jamesjacobs9597 Wow. Ignorant as they come.
@@jamesjacobs9597 some people have honor and integrity and a sense of duty unlike you, you basement dweller.
@@jamesjacobs9597 Hey asshole, I'd like to see you try to make it through boot camp in the military, but you'd be too big a pussy to join.
Sad our great Vets are treated so poorly. God bless em ALL.
Despite what I feel about this band and the actions of their lead singer, I will give them this song and the awareness it's trying to raise. I come from a military family and was raised with an immense amount of respect for the men and women who choose to serve. In my life I have had the absolute honor and privilege to come to know and deeply love several combat vets. One in particular has become like a brother to me. He's a man that I look up to and am constantly in awe of. However, the acts that he's witnessed and some that he was ordered to commit have left him with horrible PTSD and a whole host of problems. There are many times that I've sat with him while he cried his soul out and questioned why the things that have happened to him had to happen and questioned if he's a good man or not. It breaks my heart on an unspeakable level that he's been left with those problems and the fact that he's left questioning whether or not he's a good man leaves me both destroyed and furious. He's one of the best men I've ever known. The way this country lets down vets is a fucking atrocity. An absolute fucking atrocity. The way we glorify war but demonize the men and women who become warriors...it's unspeakable.
To any vets watching here:
I love you.
I admire you.
I have your back.
I may be some random idiot on the internet but I tell you clearly, here and now, if you're ever in a situation where you feel you need someone, anyone, to talk to, I will listen and I will be there for you. I may not support war, but you better damn well believe I support you and I will do so until my dying breath.
To Vin and Sori - If I hadn't already fallen in love with you two, this video would've done it. It would've done it in a heartbeat. I can't properly explain right now how much this video means to me. The support you've shown, the love you've expressed, is just so damn important and admirable. I may not share your faith but if even one single vet hears your words about Christ and is saved by it, then I will support that with all of my heart. I adore you both. Thank you, again, for being the two beautiful souls you are. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
So, so, so much love to you both tonight.
-Jason
Honest and beautiful my brother! Thank you !!
Barqs our veterans here in Canada are also suffering. Not enough support from the government. It’s a fkn crime. 💔 ❤️ Thank You to you and your family for your service. ✌🏻
God bless our veterans my cousins served and so did my Grandpa
mine too one was a marine other two were army
My grandpa was navy my cousin Johnny was army guard and his younger brother my cousin Jordan was army airborne he did two tours in Afghanistan.
And I thank your releitaves for there service it takes a lot a heart to do it I tried to get into the service. But I couldn’t even get through the medical evaluations
I love this band. I served 22 years in my beloved Air Force. Thank God these guys are helping bring awareness to vet issues
Bless u brother 🙏
Returning from the desert, we were greeted by so many Vietnam Veterans waiting to thank us for our service and it brought tears to my eyes. Those guys saw more than any of us saw and experianced but were degraded and humiliated after their service by our their own people, yet still are patriotic enough to thank us. No, we thank you!
As an OIF Veteran, thank you so much for this reaction. Thankfully we didn't lose anyone in Iraq, but we lost 5 by their own hands after we came back. I was close to it myself. Thankfully I have a great support system at home, but a lot of soldiers don't. If any of my fellow Veterans see this post, I run a Facebook page called Veteran AF. We have a call roster of over 200 personal numbers that you can call if you're feeling down. Please reach out to someone.
Thank you for your service
Appreciate you my man!
Thank you for your service you are appreciated.
Thank you for you’re service you’re appreciated
I'm a veteran and a huge Tool fan. I've watched a lot of your videos and am a big fan. Keep up the awesome work. Good vibes are going your way.
I’ve seen so many emotionless reactions to this. As a veteran myself I just want to say thank you. This is a real issue.
Appreciate that !
I honestly think those who see videos/songs like these aren't really listening/appreciating what the artists intended.
I cry every single time. I don't know any vets closely and yet so many songs bringing light to these issues make me so upset. This one included.
One - Metallica
Gone Away - (FFDP cover)
Hero of War - Rise Against
I'll come back with more, but these were what stood out the most.
I'm an Aussie & this song gets me every time. Sori if I see you start tearing up I'm gone too!
Doesn't matter where you're from, all Vets need to be looked after. Thx for the reaction
From the bottom of the heart of a disabled vet.. Thank u for understanding the pain we suffer
This is one of the most powerful and heartfelt songs that i have ever heard and one of my favs from 5FDP. Love seeing the emotions from both of you! As a vet, it's amazing to see the support from a band like 5FDP and everyone else that respects what we do!
The days never get easier for me. Everytime I hear this song I breakdown and have flashbacks to being in Afghanistan. I've lost friends overseas and here back home. Thank you guys for doing this reaction.
Hey brother I'm a vet myself I lost friends too brother your not alone it's hard on me every single day. I can't watch any war movies anymore it really hits home for me . Stay strong lots of love and respect for you
I just got to give you two credit for the approach you take to your videos. The deep reflection you take with each song is incredible, i love your banter, how great you mesh your ideas and thoughts. It's easily the most refreshing kind of these videos I see, your effort is clear.
This is a powerful song, it should be seen and heard by all. Your discussion was excellent, thanks for being real and discussing this issue in America with our veterans.
Thank you! -Sori
US Army vet here. 12 years in service, and 5 Deployments. Thank you for your help in shedding light on this subject. It really needs to be addressed.
Sori stepped into a veterans being. She felt what we feel. Her emotions were so real. I love you guys thank you. From a vet of 35 years.
I served in the Marines I have several of my brothers suffer through PTSD and no one really seems to care for these hero’s we are failing these men and women every day!! People donate money but that isn’t really enough we need people donating time and helping them through things majority of people will never understand. Pray for our vets going through tough times and PTSD every day.
This song... This song hits hard. It's just a very truthful song, poured from their hearts about a problem that, even though my country doesn't really deal with, I can completely understand their point of view. A similar thing was done by August Burns Red (the Christian metalcore band) on their song Ghosts, if you want to check it out.
My suggestion is a long, slow and emotional journey called Emerald Forest and the Blackbird by Swallow the Sun. Hoping you guys like their style and their lyrics, even though it's fucking sad and depressing ahah

I'm interested in where you are from. I've just never heard of a country solving the problem of large deployment and I'd like to look it up
I'm Portuguese. We have not been in many wars in the past years. We've been in WW1 as allies and we had the Colonial War in countries like Angola, Mozambique and Guinea. We do have war vets from these last ones but not as much as the US has Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and other war vets over the years. My grandfather fought in Mozambique in 1968 and I have a great-uncle (my grandmother's older brother) that fought in Guinea. Both of them could live normal lives after these wars because at the time we had a prime minister who tried to help war vets and they're very thankful to him. Other than that, we don't get involved in many conflicts. For example, we had a revolution in 1974 against the dictatorship started about 20 years before and we didn't even have conflict in that. The government surrendered and democracy was implemented again. We only fight wars when it's extremely necessary to fight back. I mean, Napoleon tried to invade Portugal 3 times and, with some help from the British, he failed all 3.

Alright then. Thank you for sharing man. It'll be interesting to look into these
No problem. This is some of what I know. Feel free to dig into my country's history and let me know if you're interested in other stuff ;)

Will do. I'm on a road trip right now, dropping in and out of service, but when I have time I'd love to let you know what I find
I was wondering when you guys would get to this one. Great review as always. The video to this song makes it so much more powerful. If you guys want another fantastic FFDP song, watch the music video for Coming Down. It did more for suicide prevention awareness than any school lecture could.
I'm not a vet but this song hit hard for me as well, i cried the 1st time I heard this song. My father, grandfather, uncle's, & cousins were in the service. My father was in the army for about 20 yrs, he fought in Vietnam twice. When our soldiers came home not only did a large majority of them have PTSD but they were treated like crap, that gets me mad cuz the way I see it is that back then they didn't have a choice of where they were sent to when they were drafted. I have a lot of respect for all of our soldiers & always will do thank you for reacting to this. I salute & thank all of our soldiers for their service whether they are still with us or not.
watching this makes me so thankful that my dad is still here, he was drafted into Vietnam when he was 21 in Australia. I wouldn't be here if he hadn't survived that conflict. I'm lucky he is here and I am thankful for his service as well as all other veterans and people who have served for their countries. my dad had horrible things said to him when he returned from war - utterly disgusting
I lived a 10 year war in el Salvador and it's always sad to see people killing each other..
Nice song..first time hearing it
Hands down my favorite video of yours. Such an incredibly powerful song. Thank you for all you do vets. We love you
Love you too!
Raw emotion. Thank you!
That was tough for her
I'm a British veteran and i really appreciate the importance of this video being shown. God bless you. Your a true inspiration. Thank you.
So I'm a veteran who went on three deployments during their service. I didn't personally see combat, but I had a lot of friends who did while working in the air service of the marine corps. I had to wash the blood off a close friends's air gear after they came back from a mission that lost lives. I was one of the lucky ones, and I know that. I was lucky to see a concert put on for service members by this band, and they went above and beyond. Until recently, I never had to see the ugly side of veterans. This past week, however, has changed my perspective. One of my close friends during my service has just recently admitted himself to a VA hospital. His car recently flooded, so he doesn't have transportation. His family never cared for him, so he only has his scattered Marine family to lean on, spread across the states. He's in the hospital for mental health issues, where they also discovered cancer. He doesn't have the funds to pay for treatment, is in debt after leaving the services, and was already suicidal by the time he sought help. He will likely be homeless in the coming weeks, with his Marine family unable to pay his bills when the VA turns him away. This is a reality I never wanted to face, and one too many have already had to come to terms with. That's why I applaud bands like this. They don't help every veteran, but they do what they can. And that is so much more than most who don't serve give back to their country. Thank you for covering this video. It means more than you know.
As a vet I can say this video ALWAYS hits me in the feels. Mostly that's because it is so accurate. Normally I have long rambling statements. Not now. I have no words.
Thank u for ur service so I can b free 🙏
Every time I see veteran's or people currently serving. I can't help but get goosebumps. These people sacrifice so much for not only their lives, but so many strangers lives.
Thank you!
"You saved my life Brother!" Now I'm crying...
That part always hits hard.
I know you guys did this 2 years ago but I wanted to make a comment. I'm a veteran and ended up homeless for a year with my wife and 3 kids. She came close to leaving me and taking our kids with her but she didnt and I'm grateful to be able to say that we pulled threw the hell we were in and I'm now a trainer for a truck company nearly 8 months after being homeless we are renting a house now
My father was a veteran. No matter how many times I get these reactions on my page I can't shake the video. God bless you all!
Thanks for this! I did my time (No Korn Pun Intended lol) and always felt fortunate that I was able to get back on my feet as a normal citizen, but I do know there are those that have a struggle. I pray for my military brothers and sisters everyday. My grandfather died two years ago and he served in WWII and really never talked about it until his last years. Bless those who are serving and those have served! Happy Memorial Day All!!
Jeremy Gregory thank you, brother. I was 19k with the U.S. Army.
Aaron A. Foster Thank you sit for your service! 19K eh? Heavy Armor?
Dethmuerte 29y is Satellite Communications. Armor Command MBT's (always a #6 or #06) have a SatComm system. The entire military now uses the Army numeric system for MOS
Aaron A. Foster I was 304X6 and I think it changed but can’t remember what it was exactly. I know it had a letter associated with it. 21E maybe?
Jeremy Gregory, I also served, retired now. I was in Iraq in 2003, 2005, 2007, and then I was in Afghanistan in 2009 and 2011. I had 3 MOS, 19K (death before dismount, hooha), 11B, and 31B. Some of the best years of my life.
Thank you so much for this video and your compassion
Your welcome-Sori✌🏻
Thank you for this review😢, sorry for requesting a few weeks back but i knew you two would do it justice and it needs to be heard.
Love you guys, Cookie.
Just retired after 22 years....... Keep spreading awareness and pushing the media coverage via all your platforms. That is the most powerful thing you can do.
Thank you for this reaction video. 21 years Army soon to be retired. 1 tour to Afghanistan and 4 tours to Iraq. People like you two are the reason why people like me serve or have served. God Bless you and your family.
Great reaction. Slayer - Eyes of the Insane addresses a similar issue. Another good music video for you guys to check out. Big respect Sori and Vin.
YES! Excellent video!
If you both want to be absolutely blown away check out Unleash the Archers - Awakening!
MightyMork damn I love that band
Hellyeah. I hadn’t even thought of them.
Especially with ladies week going on right now.
You should check out Sabaton--To hell and back. It's about WWII veteran Audie Murphy.
Also 5FDP did a cover of The Offspring's "Gone away," and they made that video about the military too.
Logan Viking I second that. The video mentions about PTSD amongst vets.
Ill support the sabaton recommendation one of my favorite sabaton songs
I was going to suggest that one also. Gone away by ffdp is powerful as well. I appreciate everything that the veterans have sacrificed for what we take for granted. I support them every chance I get.
From a 10th Mountain veteran, thank you for the recognition and appreciation. You are beautiful people.
"Climb to glory!"
It’s ok to cry. It’s always ok. Our veterans did not get any help for a long time but thanks to these organizations and people like us and you who actually care, there is a way bigger picture about everything. Virginia just talked about how they were able to give every homeless vet a home. First state in modern history!!! Thank you so much for doing this and posting the link for help. As a vet I say thank you for your support. My brothers and sisters in need really do appreciate this!
They Actually Care this makes me sad every time I hear this because when someone tells me thank you for your service it makes me sad because there’s others who sacrifice or have sacrificed everything for YOU and ME and what happens society, people and even people who are in the service who serve alongside them who do what? Turn there back on them. I don’t deserve a thank you. THEY DO!
You guys really need to react to wasteland by 10 years it opens your eyes to everything that goes on around that you don't think about
IVE NEVER CLICKED ON A VIDEO SO FAST
I know this reaction is a year old but it still hits home. I’m an Army vet and now a civilian police officer in a military town. I’ve seen so many soldiers commit suicide it sucks. Thankfully I’m doing ok in life, but I think of the brothers that never came home. And now I’ve buried 2 fellow officers who died in the line of duty who were both veterans also. Support for the veteran community is always welcomed and much needed. A lot of people are suffering
As an active duty soldier. I have been watching you two for years. I have not come across reactors that get as real as y'all do. Thank you for bypassing fake click bate. I connect with y'all. You both make a difference. Go army. And USA. Love y'all. God bless.
