- Stonethwaite is a beautiful and quiet hamlet in the Borrowdale Valley, it consists of a farm, traditional stone built cottages and an amazing campsite if you want somewhere to just relax this is the perfect place. It provides a gateway to the valleys of Greenup and Langstrath and is overlooked by the great rocky head of Eagle Crag.
The farm at Stonethwaite was once owned by the monks at Fountains Abbey in Yorkshire from 1195 as part of lands they owned in the Borrowdale valley.
Further up the road is Honister Pass where you will find the Honister Slate mine. Further on you will find the beautiful Buttermere. (Village and Lake/Mere)
What an incredible location captured and edited beautifully, very well done 👍

Thanks, never thought about looking at my videos to see how it would help with my layout. Good thinking. Sadly mine is complete, apart from a few adjustments.

Another place I've not been to, despite driving through Borrowdale so many times! Next time....!
It was our good friend Capt. Proton that did it first.
@@davidharle952 It often is, he finds some little gems :)

I hope you don't mind me taking advantage of your knowledge of the area.
