Love Nightwish, they're never stuck in a rut . Always thinking up new ways to charm our ears.
One of my favorite Nightwish songs and the best live performance of it. I love the pregnant pause when they go from just Marco performing to the band coming in. His smile says it all. "There's my mates right on que." Great reaction.
When I hear this song I can only think of my father.. The life he lived and the close call he had with death last year. The feelings he had when he thought it was the end. I showed him this tune and he absolutely loved it.
Troy is playing a low whistle. The original version of the song is pretty much like this, as far as intensity. They do have quite a few softer songs…they aren’t strictly “metal,” but are quite diverse.

Marko is Playing an Warwick Infinity / Panthera Double neck Bass and Guitar ( It is called THE BEAST).
Floor steps back out of the spotlight during a lot of songs. Guitar solos, Marko singing, Troy playing the pipes, whatever it is, Floor steps back from the mic out of the spotlight, while the others have their moment. Floor is a team player. She has said on multiple occasions that Tuomas makes Nightwish run, not her.

It's funny you mention The Munsters. I left a comment on another vid from this show saying Floor was rocking an "Yvonne de Carrlo" look. Glad you noticed it too - both beautiful women by the way.
You two should react to their tribute to Pink Floyd and the song High Hopes. From the live show "End of an era.
Both Marko and Emppu (guitar) are shining in that song.

I for one surely missed the lovely Katie! The uilleann pipe is an Irish bagpipe. Pronounced "Illan". Uilleann is Gallic for elbow, which is what you use to pump air though the instrument to create the sound.
He was actually playing another traditional instrument called a low whistle. Sometimes referred to as a tin or penny whistle. They come in many different sizes to accommodate for the pitch & octave required.
I also thought, Lily Munster? Floor sometimes likes to do the heavy makeup thing. It must come from her musical theater training. Always overdo everything. You need to be sure the people in the back can see the action. See you soon Katie & Uncle Gij! 🙏

Me too. It was repeated here in the UK when i was a kid in the 1980's , i bought the DVD box set last month and enjoyed seeing it again.

This song has lyrics that I think inspired the virtual venue used for the 2 Epic 1 3/4 hr ea virtual full length concerts at the end of May 2021 in a whimsical Virtual world containing the venue pub location called The Islanders Arms. It is a Steam Punk inspired building with a lighthouse at "the end of the world" . The airship in the world is named "The Spirit of Punk". It arrives to start the show and leaves afterward.
Each concert had a slightly different set list (mix of older and new songs) based on the Human:: Nature tour that got put off from 2020 until recently in 2021/2022, due to the pandemic.
Over 150,000 people from 108 countries (for the first concert) paid to attend live. I saw both of them. Truly magical, but unfortunately without Marco, and the large audience interaction, but it is nice to see them up close making their beautiful music.
Nightwish Thank You / behind the scenes look at the making of these Virtual Concerts (They were only available to paid attendees, and later released to stream in some countries). The full Saturday show has just been released on DVD.

Great reaction but prefer the version where Marko talks to the 20,000 plus crowd with subtitles at the start. Troy is playing a low whistle in this one. There are several songs where he plays various wind and stringed instruments.
I never thought of Lily Munster, but you're right, the make-up does remind me of Lily...

THEE Best Metal Band on the Planet! Yes, would have been nice if you had used the video with the opening of Marco sharing banter with the audience, it is very enjoyable, humorous. Also one suggestion if I may, I realized a long time ago to never shut off a Nightwish video until the screen goes absolutely black. Majority of time, just little shared personal moment from the band at the end.
Uilleann Pipes, easiest way to remember how to pronounce it is that the U is silent. So it's like "ill-ian" pipes

You two screwed up! The best version has Marco saying something funny to the crowd. You screwed up by cutting it off too soon. Floor is tickled it went well. She claps and let her friend know she's proud of him. She would be out there by herself shortly singing sleeping sun. I'll give you credit for full screen! I don't waste my time if a person is too stupid for not knowing how to give the watcher the best viewing picture.
