A British actor playing an American doctor doing a fake British accent.
Hugh Laurie everyone 👏
Fart
This is gonna be the first reply forever hahaha
There are different British accents so a Brit doing a fake British accent isn't that impressive. His American accent does sound amazingly natural though.
I know who I am. I'm a British dude playin an American dude playin a British dude.
@cyrilshell4493 interestingly I saw him on a chat show, he said it never got easier, natural. It was always a challenge
Like Mcnulty in the wire 😂
“I’m the dude, disguised as a dude playing another dude”
Genius 😂😂
Great movie
Just perfect, I saw it in theaters when it came out.
Wait. I know this!!!! Oh, no! Somebody help, my brain froze!!!!

A British actor doing a Bad British accent...Classic. 😂
That's his actual accent. Look up black adder.
@@patrickharwood6598
I think he did an elite accent in blackadder too didn't he
I immediately thought of Johnny Town-mouse from Beatrix Potter's "The Tale of Johnny Town-mouse".
Hugh Laurie is English. He played a British toff dimwit (upper-class moron) on British TV for a number of years. He's faking an American accent as Gregory House. He's also a good blues singer.
@@rebeccamichael626Love your PFP. Huge Stitch fan myself. Even got 626 in your name, lol.
Doing an impression of someone doing a bad version of your own accent is top tier acting skills.
Except the accent isn't bad, just a bit exaggerated.
@@musicvideos445 it is a little tho. you can hear some American accent leaking through
David Tennant did that in Dr Who in the episode Tooth and Claw.
The Doctor ends up in Scotland and does an Scottish accent.
When Hugh Laurie auditioned for the part, the producers said “we need an American like that.”
No, Brian singer did..go look up what he does as a pass time...not good man.
He actually used his american accent impression in his audition they were suprised when they found out he was brittish
If Hugh Laurie got a dialect coach, I’m sure he could get a convincing British accent in due time.
Hugh Laurie is English.
@@felicitybywater8012 I was sure at least one person wouldn’t get the sarcasm. You win.
@@felicitybywater8012 felicity is autistic

😂😂😂
Greg House faked a British accent. Hugh Laurie IS British. It's his Bertie Wooster voice.
"Well, doesn't that just take the giddy biscuit?"
I don't think that's a real expression❤ @@caroljoyfarrell2251
Tyvm. Could not remember Bertie Wooster's name for the life of me.
His Wooster was topnotch. He and Stephen Fry were excellent together.
@@felicitybywater8012 They were wonderful
It sounds more like an American trying to do his Bertie Wooster voice or reciting Monty Python. It has the over exaggeration and the slips back into American pronunciation for some of the words.
That British accent really suits him. I wonder where he gets it from
He used that accent when he played Bertie Wooster in Jeeves and Wooster here in the UK.
because he is british..
@@adriananzano2292apparently thats the joke
He's making fun of Americans who try to do a British accent.
Hugh Laurie taking me back to Bertie Wooster days with "how terribly foolish of me..."
This must have actually been quite difficult. According to Stephen Fry Hugh kept his American accent all day on set to stop it slipping so coming in and out of it would’ve been hard
Hmm.. it’s actually pretty simple in SOME contexts.
I speak both French and English, and I can pretend to speak French in a poor American accent and vice versa.
But I still can’t do a good British accent 🥲 so doing a poor American accent coming from a good British accent would be impossible for me
His American voice is much deeper and raspier. The way he sounds when he has a British accent here is exactly how he naturally sounds in Bit of Fry and Laurie.
He did make it more campy to really give it that bad accent feel
The wording is also sounds like it is pulled from Gilbert and Sullivan.
I feel like this is definitely a thing! I’m swedish and my swedish voice is much higher than my english one, and if I put on an american accent it comes out darker than if I do a british one :P
Somewhere Stephen Fry raised his head.
Hugh Laurie is so great.
underrated ❤
This and him speaking Spanish in an American accent just woah
Omg that knocked me back into his Blackadder days
I'm still surprised that he's a British actor and has a perfect American accent.
I was shook when I learned this, but I learned it when the show was being aired. At this point I’m just amazed when a generic American accent/the “broadcaster” accent ISN’T someone from across the pond.
Easier when "American" accent is just neutral, bland English
@@PRubin-rh4sr Not really? Southern accents are much closer to a British accent, but if you compare the most bland British accent to the broadcaster American accent, they are still very different.
The funny thing is, that a lot of Brits didn’t think much of his accent when House first came out on telly, because they didn’t realise that the accent he was using was a genuine, and actually quite particular, American accent.
His American accent is pretty bad, even as an English person I can hear it lol 😂
British actor playing an American man doing a British accent. Accent-ception
"You never changed, George. You never changed."
British actor playing an American character (proving his accent skills are excellent) faking a bad British accent. You gotta love Hugh Laurie
Doing An American accent while trying to do a bad British accent must be very difficult
This is actually a modified version of his comedy voice
DR HOUSE - THE GOAT DOCTOR
A pish and a pash and a jolly old roger sir!
Dont forget when he spoke Spanish in an American accent
*I* forgot about when he spoke Mandarin
The hard part wasn't the accent, it was not laughing.
That immediately shot my mind back to watching Blackadder, holy jeez 😂
"Fake" British accent from a british actor
Sounds like he's throwing a bit of Wooster in there to me.
A British actor pretending to be American with a bad British accent god i love Hugh Laurie 😭😭
Hugh was prolly excited to use his real voice for a change
Took me back to blackadder.
He nailed the "mock British accent" Americans do. Bravo...
God that sounds refreshing , very fry and laurie
After the series ends we need an ls reacts to each game. Having him watch illaoi would be particularly juicy
"My name is greg house." - Gregory House
Check out all the characters Hugh Laurie plays on "A Bit of Fry & Laurie". The vox pop skits are brilliant & often goddamned funny.
Gotta admit it’s gonna be hard flipping from a fake (but brilliant) accent back into your natural English accent.
Tom Holland can barely stand in front of a camera without using a fake accent now
He absolutely does, when on British TV. He keeps a little for the US shows, so it doesn't freak you all out too much.
@@handlesarefeckinstupid Tom admitted on the Graham Norton show he was filming an advert an instantly went into an American accent before being reminded he was advertising a British product for British tv.
I love Hugh Laurie❤❤❤❤
When House was “up to something” always entertaining
Thats just his real accent modified a bit
So glad there's now 2 streaming services that i can watch House from. Prime Video and Netflix.
I just binged it on peacock
He is so underrated. THAT is saying something. He's such a student of the game.
He's British and that's not a bad job.
So a twist on his accent
Hi, Hugh Laurie is English. So noce accent there!
"I'm a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude"
Such a great show
Fun fact, Hugh Laurie is the only British actor that I was surprised wasn’t American. My family watched a ton of House when I was a kid and his American accent is so good and so believable that i was shocked after like 10 years of hearing his American accent
Which ep is it
I also want to know
S1 e6 “the socratic method”
So a Brit acting as an American pretending to be a Brit. Well he got his money's worth out of that acting class.😁
Sounds like he's leaning into the dandy accent he used in black adder
i need more!!
Exact same voice and face as the nice but dim British officer in the WW1 Blackadder series lol
My watch must have stopped 😂
I sooooo miss this show. Wish he'd do another medical drama. Come on Hugh.... Please? You know we all love you! 😊 ❤️ 🥼🩺🩻🧬🧫🧪🔬💉🩹🩸
I watched the series Jeeves and Wooster with Laurie and then all of the versions of Blackadder before watching the series House. I was surprised that he could pull off an American accent so well.
Hugh Laurie playing Gregory House doing an impression of Lieutenant George.
He played Bertie Wooster in the A&E series Jeeves and Wooster set in London
Bro unleashed doctor cockroach
Sounds like Bertie Wooster
Nice work old bean!
Love This show from House M.D.
He sounds like a German who speaks English as a 2nd language 😂
That’s literally just how he sounds IRL
Not Really, his voice isn't like that, he did an impression of a stereotypical British accent
Wow you really did an excellent job with that accent. I recently rewatched the whole series and didn't remember much about it so wasn't where you were a British actor. There were times I didn't like your character and that meant you were doing an excellent job.
That voice hit me with Blackadder flashbacks
Sounds like Lt. The Hon. George Colthurst St Barleigh 😂
The man is an absolute legend 😂❤
The greatest show ever
Hugh Laurie should do a series about Alcoholics Anonymous.
Me when I know him as Dr. Cockroach from MVA: “Now that’s a voice I remember!”
Why does it feel like hause is going to find that doctor and force him to anwser him
He sounds like King George from Blackadder the third
I wonder how many of us knew, he's a real brit. And If you watch blackadder, this is pretty much how he sounds
Not really.
He plays a dimwit toff (upper-class moron) in Blackadder.
Excellent actor and excellent musician
Didnt dominic west do this in the wire?
Its the prince regent!
Also does a great Saint James Infirmary rendition.
It’s Bertie Wooster!!
Not fake at all 😂
he sounded just like his character in Blackadder
Dominic West did the same thing on The Wire
Reminds me of his Jeeves and Wooster voice.
It's his Bertie Wooster voice
Bertie!!
Literally just what his goofball characters in Black Adder sound like
Thing is he's not faking it.
genius
Wait till you take a call, yeah.. It's almost bedtime here. Can you just tell..blah blah I called?
I just watched that episode 😂 It was so hilarious 😂
He's using his "Jeeves and Wooster" voice😂
the prince regent lives on :)
That was one of the accents he used in Blackadder
He pulled an Victor/Victoria movie stunt
Bertie Wooster is that you??
He looks like Hugh Jackman for many seconds.
He sounded like doctor cockroach from Monster vs Aliens which he voices 😂
I remember first seeing this and thinking he can’t do a very good British accent. That was before I knew he was actually British haha. Gotta love Hugh Laurie
What is amazing about Hugh Laurie is his perfect American accent despite his British citizenship.
Love the British accent. Your a natural 😊
