Honestly I was going to comment on how I wouldn't use this. I listened to your vid and then visited the site and I am sold on this. I have been trying to collect my notes for several different books I dream about writing. This would help me throw all those random things together. This looks great.
Great to hear! See. Your boy is not going to steer you wrong. 😉👊🏿
Campfire tools look really awesome. I am going to try this for solo play. I especially like how you can link characters and include extra depth to their story.
I’ve tried so many things as a GM and this might just be the one.
Originally I was skeptical, but after listening to your video and digging around on the Campfire site, I'm pretty much sold on this. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. Exceptional video as always. 👍
Awesome sauce! Glad I could help. 😊👍🏿
I would use it for creating NPCs for my games and the idea of my campaign notes there with it is cool too.
Thanks for the opportunity
Well, I can see myself using it as a GM for organization. Right now most of my campaigns are in folders with sub folders which in turn have more sub-folders filled other sub-folders and txt files and image files throughout. The character relation chart is a nice touch. I should start doing that. I expect I'll give it a try this weekend. If I like it, I'll start to put away for the lifetime version as I assume the price you quoted is USD so it'll take me a bit.
Downloaded the free version to try. Currently have all my gaming notes in Joplin. If I like it, I'll transfer my notes over and use it for module/adventure creation. Also might use it for solo play, either Star Trek Adventures or The One Ring.
Campfire seems like it would make it easier to create an idea for a Traveller mega-campaign I had. Besides sci-fi, I also like racing. I want to do the Annililik Run. Not the existing pre-made free trading scenario, but the space race mentioned in The Third Imperium book from Mongoose.
QotV: I'd use it to keep the world building for my games in one place.
For instance, one of the worlds I have has a year that's around 3/4 of Earths. Having a calender feature would be useful.
QotV: I'm mainly a solo gamer these days, so I can see using Campfire as my digital organizer for a campaign game.
Campfire would replace supplant my DM's notebook .
Going to compare to World Anvil that I use right now.
I also have the classic installed version, and don't want to give it up.
I feel you on that. I like them both, but the old version works just fine. 🙂
Theater of the mind is my proffered mode
I’d use it for solo play. Do you have to be connected online at all times to use it via the desktop/mobile app or can you be offline and then sync when you are back online?
You can be offline and then sync it when you get back online. Great question. 👊🏿🙂
and give up my moleskins.... tsk tsk... looks like a great tool for most.
😅
I tried to join the "Leet Squad" but it did not seem to work. The site did not give me a "success" message nor did I receive an email.
Never mind. I forgot I had my VPN on. When I turned it off it worked just fine. :)
