How the Iran nuclear deal works, explained in 3 minutes

- Iran and six world powers just cut a historical deal that would limit the Iranian nuclear program in exchange for economic sanctions relief. The details of the of the 159-page report are terribly technical. But there are some important aspect of this deal that we've distilled into this 3-minute video.

Iran didn't let me in
They were paid for it
Theres never peace in the middleeast
PEACE, PROSPERITY AND GOOD HEALTH IN EVERY NATION IN THE WORLD
IS ANYONE HERE AFTER TRUMPS HISTORIC MIDDLE EAST PEACE DEALS? AND HE DIDNT HAVE TO DELIVER 1 BILLION IN CASHIKE OBAMA
Who's here after they abandoned the nuclear deal?
Tach aye
Lol
Right here ✋
So let me get this straight. It would still take them a long time to reach the weapons-level uranium right?
Heyyyy
aaaaand it's gone

Yay
Fabian Putting I don't understand why Iran did a deal with the U.S. Never ever trust a 🐍. Those gringos never keep there word, not ones to be trusted. Something a little off topic is... Now you can clearly see why the U.S. runs on a 2 party system. The DemoRats come in and play the nice cop in order to get deals done with there "enemies" then the RepubliCants come in and play the bad cop to get what they want out of every deal done.
Fabian Putting south park!!!!!😄😄😄😄😄😄
@@dalegribble5661 We need them to withdraw from nuke production permanently.

itschrisguy RIP
Really? Do you think sending the Iranians 2 billion in cash to fund nuclear operations to the country that claims will be responsible dort wiping Israel and the US of the face of the planet?
The Teflon Don sarcasm you tryhard
@@theTeflonDon1 Not to necro an old thread, but you do realize that the 2 billion was unfrozen Iranian assets that already belonged to them, and were unfrozen as part of the liberation of sanctions, and if they don't have nukes it's pretty difficult to wage war against any nation that is armed with nukes (Like Israel and the US?)
@@itschrisguy I was on a diatribe on this page because of support I saw for the video. In hindsight it was obvious you were being sarcastic, didnt notice. See ya
We live in a day and age where countries that have stockpiles with hundreds of thousands of nukes tell other countries what they can or cannot do with their nuclear programs.
It was always like this throughout the whole history. Strong tells the weak what to do or get beaten instead.
It has always been like this. Might makes right in international affairs
Iran constantly threathens to annihilate the US, that's the asymmetry.
So basically now if an Iranian soldier makes a 25 killstreak then he can get a tactical nuke
Tactical nuke is a 25 killstreak 😬
It’s 30 actually
We don't have guns
@@mranderson2215 i was just making a live adaptation of the streak but ill fix it lol
"Pretty much 100% chance of noticing if they cheat, that's how good they are." Made me lol.
"Great inspections, Terrific Inspections, best inspections in the world" thats what the inspection part sounded like it didnt give me any information about them in general
It didn't give any information in general on specifically, LoL.
True they didn't explain it at all. If you are wondering, the IAEA will inspect them, in a process called Safeguards
Baker Harrington But at the same time, at another of their videos about "Iran, USA and Israel" they let you think that the nuclear deal is inadequate, and that Iran could make another nuke whenever it pleased. Vox has always been a very confusing and self-contradicting channel, and one shouldn't trust it too much.
also they can postpone an IAEA inspection for as long as 24 days, so plenty of time to hide what they don't want seen. also no inspecting of military sites...
I know. haha, these inspectors are boneheads. Anyone stating there's a 100% chance they get caught if they break the rules is a jackass. The UN inspectors in Syria got lost in Damascus when they were checking for Sarin gas.
are you here after the Iranian nuclear scientist assassinated?
Vox forgot to mention that Iran gets to inspect themselves
Naf70 here's some info around that www.vox.com/2015/8/20/9182185/ap-iran-inspections-parchin
Naf70 The IAEA will be inspecting them.
+Vox do you really trust the Iran government to do right by its people and its word as they have proven time and time in the past and present that they will continue its war on civil rights, continue to fund international Islamic terrorism, and continue its war on Israel, Iraq, and Afghanistan? If so please explain why and how you can put your faith in such a despicably evil regime?
Harry Potter Iran isn't inspecting themselves the IAEA is inspecting them.

There is nothing about what America gave for the deal, so this is only half the story.
USA didn't really give much if anything. If you mean the $150 billion, that money has always been Iran's. It is oil money and unfullfilled arms payments that USA never fullfilled when Iran started acting up by kidnapping people and threatening Israel.
Nuclear Proliferation, there's your answer. The RnD to go from a Fission Power Plant to a Fission Bomb can only take about as long as 20 years. More recent nuclear power plants either use different radioactive material or a safer system that makes it considerably more difficult to go from cleaner, cheaper, energy, to a weapon of mass destruction. Hell, North Korea figured it out by themselves, a country that's a huge part of the international economy, even easier.
Welp it’s over now...
Trump?
It’s back now

Israel doesn't have any nuclear weapons because it's not allowed to and btw if they secretly have nuclear weapons on who and where are they gonna use it to, if the world finds out Israel had a nuclear bomb and used it everyone would flip out, there not idiots to fire a nuclear bomb just think for a second what could happen and Israel is not stupid

Think of this in civ v terms guys...
Iran gets embargo lifted, Iran starts making caravans and cargo ships, Iran has ideology of theocracy, Iran generates 30 unhappiness because they adopted the wrong ideology (theocracy), Iran adopts new ideology (freedom).
Weekend Gaming lol
Unfortunately this isn't civ 5 and its highly unlikely that they will reject theocracy especially after the theocratic state can now use propaganda to strengthen its hold on their society by saying they saved Iran.
"Wrong ideology," is that why Iran has a higher standard of education and a better life expectancy under this theocracy? Keep your entitled bullshit to yourself.
***** Woah come down. In civ v, the "wrong ideology" is just the ideology that no one else has in BNW, becuase world congress gets on you to switch, and your happiness goes down. It is just a joke pal. Making light of a serious issue sometimes help people understand it a bit better. (like me).
The Iranian people are not the problem. The Iranian regime is the problem.
This aged well 😅
Why do I get the feeling that Vox omitted a lot of parts?
its a 3 minute video, duh
You should make a video going more into depth about how the inspections are going to occur
I love how you make complicated ideas simple!
Corey Weil When a media organisation makes international relations look simple, that means you're probably being told half the story. To be honest, in this case I agree with Vox that this is a good deal, but they didn't mention the expiry date, at which point they will have none of the nuclear restrictions and all of the economic benefits.
Ronald Hanlon where did you learn English - at Arizona State?
lol this jew hasbara nasaqlicos sob pos ----^
Michael Jones i think its a concern that just *LAST WEEK* the Iranian leader, Khamenei, just called the US "the great Satan" and that Iran only dealed with the US as a "means of infiltration and imposition of their wills" and he also said Israel will not exist in 25 years.
He said this RECENTLY. As in LAST WEEK. Does this sound like somebody who America should doing any sort of business with, ever, particularly now by funding them?
(there are other types of war strikes besides nuclear, you know. And now they'll have the money to do what they want)
Yasss Virginia......it's called "propaganda".
This is a great video! Really explains it in a simple way unlike in other sources.
"How the Iran Deal Doesnt Work"
Thank you for this brief and informative video. It is soothing to read something to the point and moderate. Thank you
That was the best explanation I've gotten.
Vox is gradually becoming my number one news source.
Same. Out of all the news channels I'm subbed to, VOX is the only one that has actually talked about what the Iran nuclear deal means for Iran and its people. They are almost completely unbiased and its refreshing to know that they are a reliable source of information.
Temney Ternup I am all for the Iran deal, but to say vox is not biased is nuts. They are defiantly biased to the democrats. Look at their past videos.
DesignerReviewz yeh, they explain things really well.

Why do so many Americans need to be told what to think? You should never have a "number one" news source, instead you should be educating yourself on the pros and cons of any story before forming an opinion. This video doesn't go into depth on anything.. what are these inspections, where and how are they performed? How often? When you start looking at these actual details you might begin to think differently about this deal, or you might not, but atleast you'll be thinking for yourself. You will never get that by listening to news media because they don't exist to inform you, they exist to make money and they do that by appealing to the LCD with pretty pictures and cartoon music and spoonfeeding simplicity that doesn't require any thinking on your part.
Hey Sammi! it's nice to live in a country "USA" where you can get your news number one number two or number three unlike Iran where you only get state news smarten up moron before you make such stupid statements about Americans!
I really like the music for this!

How you feeling now sir?
Is this okay to use in my report? I have to do a report on a certain country and Iran is one of them. This is the news story I chose to work on. I was just wondering if it was okay to use this video to help explain what this deal is and what it does. Thanks man, I doubt you'll reply but it would be wonderful if you did.
PEACE, PROSPERITY AND GOOD HEALTH IN EVERY NATION IN THE WORLD
I am not sure what else Iran could give up? But some how the American Mia managed to shut down such a deal. It’s not about world peace… it never was
Inspect Israel.
They have nuclear weapons but don't use them. And they don't publicly declare they want to wipe out Iran off the map unlike what the Ayatollah says about Israel over Twitter.
AceProductions828 Israel have threatened to attack Iran previously so warrants an open inspection in my opinion of what they have for the world to see just like others. My point is it is a double standard that shows lack of ethics.
+Samantha W They live in the most heated part of the world and have been constantly threatened with extinction or at the least attack. These are people which people throughout history hate (for whatever reason). And yet they could take out Iran and their enemies with a push of a button but they won't do it. If Iran had the capability they'd do it, they even publicly declared they would. And don't say they wouldn't do it if they had the chance because Hitler openly said anti-Semitic related things and getting pay back for the treaty of Versailles and he went through with it. Israel has elections and freedom to worship despite getting attacked from those who kill in the "Allah". We can trust them unlike Iran. And please if you deleted my other comment, I'm not accusing you of doing it, don't delete this one. For some reason my other comment isn't showing up so I'm not accusing you.
Mustafa Iraq My apologies for my racist outburst earlier - it's just that it frustrates me when I witness the world's undying bigotry towards my people. There is no such thing as a "Zionist," Zionism is a nationalist ideology in which Jewish people get an established country since we've always been mistreated under the rule of a leader who's of a different religion. It's no different than any other sort of nationalism, I'm sure if you ask a Kurdish nationalist and a Jewish nationalist their opinions about their people they will tell you the same things - they've been mistreated and they must be independent. And also, it's human nature to be "materialistic" if you live in the modern world, it's the values most people are raised with nowadays since there's such an abundance of resources for the world to share, so your point doesn't really make much sense since almost any political or social movement will have materialistic people.
+Mhov77
Iran, and other Arabic nations, have also been under constant persecution in the last century, first by colonialism, and then by the shady dealings of the Cold War. This is the basis that helped the disease of extremism spread throughout the nations.
Please show this to all the crazy conservatives that think that Iran has been give a pass.
I don't understand why Iran doesn't have the right to defend itself.
It does. Just not that way
Sammy Hannat in case you don't know, iran isn't ruled by normal dictators just seeking to rob the citizens of their rights and wealth, they're ruled by religious shia maniacs who want to bring about Armageddon and can t wait, iran leaders literally are shia Taliban.
it's not about defending themselves, they believe they have an islamic prophecy to fulfil

Sean Iran has the right to have nuclear weapons.
so I’m a bit confused.. so they abandoned the deal.. does this mean that they can now make nuclear weapons?
Ilona Losey basically
Yup.
And they are gonna sign a deal with Russia to buy some
Yes
& now it’s been suspended 🙃
so Iran isn't even allowed to make Nuclear Medicines ?
thats a tad too brutal even for America imo.
They're allowed medical grade tops
Studio Retake did you watch the video. They are allowed 3.7 it takes 20.0 for medical purposes. People who just comment their feelings instead of facts really grinds my gears
US for profit healthcare providers need desperately sick middle class Iranians to maintain profitability
If you understood the fact that iran is a terrorist state. And how they fund terrorrist organizations and constantly call death to america, you would understand why people are tough on em
Winistan Nothing is too brutal for the US O_o
Thanks for explaining this
Can you please tell more about these sanctions on broader perspective on world level, a whole video of this would be very appreciated.
thanks! this was a really helpful, concise summary of the deal's main points
I just want the world to be happy and live in peace.
Very interesting information on the enrichment percentages.
funny how you forgot to mention the sunset clause
You only mention the pros not the bad parts
Whos here after iran said they are pulling out the nuclear deal?
Very educational, informative and straight to the point! I look forward to seeing more of your videos! You just earned a new subscriber! :)
so how is this deal bad again?
I have a serious question!!!
How CZcams Recommendation works????????? ? ?
It knows what you like
This is so intellectually dishonest.
How?
Soooooo can you make an updated video on what would happen if they backed out of the agreement please. I mean I feel like sanctions would be put back into place but idk
You ALSO forgot to mention that they have a 30 DAY NOTICE when they get inspected more than enough time to move product if they are making a bomb!
some one get iran to have a word with North Korea
And now Trump will repeal the deal
NOW WE GO BACKWARD EVERYTHING WILL BE LIKE REAGAN H BUSH AND THE REAL WRECKERS CHENEY W BUSH EVERYTHING WILL SKYROCKET HURRRAY
And John Bolton will be whispering in his ear.

@@alirezasadeghi3467 no its Iran. They signed it the same way Hitler signed the agreement not to invade Europe.

Potato potatoe same thing
This is great news, but one tragic part about it now politicians can say "You see? Sanctions can work!".
Ratty and what would you propose as a better alternative? Mutually assured destruction?
Ratty
Ofcourse sanctions can work, it depends what you mean with "work". Just like embargoes usually do work.
A modern society is especially vulnerable to such measures . There are many historic examples of this.
Iran is a powerful country with a lot of potential and smart people, I am sure they can live quite happily without some bomb that is quite useless anyways. A nuclear weapon is of no use whatsoever if you think about the lives of ordinary people. It is a weapon for deterrence, and Iran has proven to be quite capable of deterring and defending its territorial integrity without any nuke.
That is why they chose to go for this deal.
Ratty US begged us to negotiate :) Yes , it really worked! By sanctions Iran makes their own nuclear power , different type of missiles , satellite etc and made US beg Iran to negotiate. Thank you so much for helping us improving :)
Are you governor? I said US but I mean US government not people. AND if they didn't beg , why they didn't leave negotiations? They threatened to leave several times :) You American just can insult , you're not gentle , non of you , you just pretend to be gentle :)

Do a search on the "Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action" (AKA Iran Nuclear Deal document, justsecurity.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/271545626-Iran-Deal-Text.pdf) and you'll see that there zero reference to Iranian Ballistic Missiles development (see bottom for search results).
Meaning, either after the deal's expiration date, or sooner - if Iran manages to cheat, Iranian missiles could be tipped with Nuclear warheads.

did u ever get to find out what it means?
so basically its another situation, where the big bullies forbid to other kids to have the same toys as them?
+PsychosGamers Basically, but the "big bullies" in this case are overall in better shape to handle the "toys" than the other kids
Kelly DeWitt
thats debateable, because the big bullies fucked it up more than the 33 official times (broken arrow) while they were trying to ''handle'' their toys. its only NOW that they have enough experience (thats also debatable cause they dont fully understand those toys as much as they want to believe) to handle the toys with wisdom.
the weaker kids in the playground are only trying to ''survive the day'' and have some fun without someone taunting them, beating them up, controling them ALL the time. the weaker kids can now have the established knowledge of what NOT to do wrong in order to handle their toys with safety. They can also have the high tech equipment to do that even more efficiently.
Moreover handling and using a toy is so much different. A weaker kid can have the same toy as the big bully has in order to protect himself. its a ''war of impressions''. they are only trying to make it clear : ''leave us alone or you know what happens''.
Well when the toys have the power to end the world in nuclear fire it makes sense that we don't want them to get those toys
1:36 is Iraq not Iran. Vox fails again
People who claim to dislike the deal usually don't really care so much about the actual deal, it's the lifting of sanctions instead of bombing Iran they really dislike...
PixyDst500 Iran has not been given any money, what they have received is money that used to be theirs before it was "frozen".
If you want Iran to build nuclear bombs, your way is probably the best: Steal their money, isolate them from the outside world, make any nuclear deal impossible by making impossible demands, make constant threats to bomb them "until the sand is glowing".
Lots of right wing extremists don't want to make any deals with Iran. They think a deal makes the US look weak and they want Iran to remain this supervillain who they can use to scare people with. If that comes at the cost of Iran getting nukes, I think that is a price lots of crazy right wingers are willing to pay.
I live on this planet, and I would prefer it if Iran don't get nukes.
PixyDst500 The thing about nukes is, there is no point in spending money on them if you can't tell anyone that you have them. The opposite is more common, N Korea says they have nukes but experts are sceptical since there is very little evidence supporting that claim.
Israel will never go to war against Iran without consent from the US. There is hope of Iran changing and becoming more democratic and less of a terrorstate in the next 10 years, and that could not happen without this deal.
+PixyDst if they get one....it would be suicidal for Iran to use a nuclear weapon.. even the dumbest animals can see this.
@@BarryAllen-ow2px it would be suicidal to all of us because if Iran and US start exchanging nukes chances are Russia and China will join the nuke party and every one would run MAD! (Mutual Assured Destruction)
Well, you can say goodbye to that now
What are your sources. Seriously interested
Iranians don't want war either.. it's the government. Most Iranians just want to live peaceful lives
@@yougetagoldstar America isn't. But the US literally called Iran, North Korea, and Iraq the three devil states/axis of evil a decade ago.
Chanting death and actually bringing death is different! How many Americans has Iran killed? How many Iranian military personnel are surrounding America? And then see how many bombs has American dropped in the mid east! How many American bases are surrounding Iran. Now tell me who's actually bringing death to whome
So why they keep choosing those leaders?
Does that means trump wants Iran to make nukes?
I thought the biggest source of contention was the inspection process. Kinda wished you guys touched upon that some more. I wouldn't have minded a 5 minute video if that part can be elaborated some more.
I get it. Ty for this video!!
Something tells me this is a pretty one-sided explanation of the nuclear deal.
Most adolescent argument I've ever heard. It's like having a 5 year old argue with me
This video left a lot of important information out.
What
you forgot the part where iran lied about abiding by that deal
netanyahu mad right now.
Him Downstairs ..... but not now ;)
i hope iran the best in the future
-indonesians brothers and sisters
Thks for the break down
But it’s not accurate. Remember when Iran didn’t let inspectors in? 😂
A little more explaination would be helpful: Given the level of enrichment and the number of centrifuges, how long will it take for iran to develop a nuclear weapon??? In other words, when you mention that they don't have alot of centrifuges and they have poorly enriched uranium, there is not a lot of context on what this means.
You forgot to mention the 150 billion dollars in cash...
Trump lied about that. It is actually 1.5 billion, although some say it is 33 billion. That's far from 150 though. If america went to war with them, US would lose a few trillions of dollars as well possibly indirectly creating the Islamic state of Iran
Oh daaaaaamn!!! My bad, so we literally made them a superpower in the middle east?
No. 1.5 billion dollars/16.77 trillion dollars of US GDP is 0.009% of our GDP, nowhere near enough to make them a superpower in the middle east. Even if Donald Trump was not lying, 150 billion/16.77 trillion is still just .9% of our GDP. We could make that in three days.
Capitaine 1.5 billion is not enough
That's just in CASH, but once the sanctions will be removed, they'll have a lot of $$$ coming their way!
How depressing watching this now.
But at your other video about "Iran, Israel, and the United States" you said that the Iran nuclear deal isn't adequate. Vox?
this is my first time checking out a video from vox, and will most definitely be the last
Sounds very much like the type of deal that the US made with Iraq back in the 90's, but that didn't really work out so well
And Iraq didn't get a nuke. So the deal itself did exactly what it was intended to.
+AlphaXGames We Pakistani sold them plans and I still hate some of my leaders for this.
1. It didn't
How did it not?
commander red What nuclear sub you moron? The only country capable of that is US & Russia.
did this pop up on anyone elses feed🤩😂😂
Make a new video almost 3 years later ....lets see where it went
once the sanction is lifted, Iran's is economically connected to the world, and their people are enjoying the benefit of that, how willing do you think they are to risk losing all that and a war with US just for a stupid bomb?
The government they live under is not representative of the people, it is an evil regime that is the largest nation to fund international Islamic terrorist, all this money we give them will go into the pockets of Isis, al Qaeda, and the like to complete a mass genocide against Jews, non traditional Muslims, Christians, people of secular views, people of western culture, but please continue to live in your world where evil doesn't exist, wish i was there
+Harry Potter Yes, the Iranian government is going to continue to fund terrorism as a new generation of Iranians that like to drink coke, listen to pop music, and show some skin is coming forward. Iran will go through change whether they like it or not as this new generation of youth are embracing western culture.
+windingpath Yes, their government would do it. They are fanatical and if they kill Americans and destroy Israel......God will be pleased with them. They would die for this cause.

+Harry Potter What makes you think jews are better than the World ?! Jews jews jews israel... who the hell you think you are?!
How this is unfair to the US is beyond me.
Can you break down the TPP? :)
One very important fact that this video leaves out is what is happening to the plutonium biproduct that would be very easy to cheat inspections with and wouldnt be very hard to turn to weapon grade
I don't see what the problem is
+Yeah,i guess so I guess you have not followed the News over the last 10 years ? Well, just utube Iran, and see what their government thinks of Americans and Israel and how they want to destroy both.
RevolutionaryMike Tf r u talking about? The left controls the media in the US so if something like how the black community is at its lowest unemployment rate under Trump and all these raises given to employees under Trump are covered up. You don't hear about it too much
The problem is that this deal has a ten year expiry date. After which they are allowed to make as many nuclear warheads as they please.
The #1 problem for Iran has been how to deliver these warheads to your doorstep. Sanctions made that very difficult A warhead is pretty useless if you dont have a delivery system (the rocket part of the ICBM)
This deal asks them to give up most of their useless warhead material...and in exchange they can now work on their delivery systems...with the money they now have with sanctions gone. And after 10 years, they can make new warheads....and put them in their new delivery systems...now they have a way to deliver Mr. Warhead to your doorstep...yay!!!
UDon'tNeedTo Know lmao that was all the after affects of Obama’s stimulus package trump didn’t even pass any type of tax reform when that happened he was only 3 months in. Have you been watching fox and fell for their propaganda? Most people can see through it even foreigners laugh at Fox

I have some GERMANY WWI-WWII -making sure of "not weaponizing country" inspections FLASHBACK
OKAY. Let's get the REAL facts about this deal, and Iran straight!
The 24 day notice: The 24 day notice only takes place IF and only IF the IAEA wants to inspect somewhere else other than all the known nuclear sights of Iran. And no, it does not take 24 days, it take UP to 24 days- so they (IAEA) can inspect in the 24 days. If the 24 days are reached, the vote goes to the UN panel- where all the countries on this deal will vote whether or not we can inspect Iranian soil- and then inspection will happen. OTHERWISE, for all the KNOWN nuclear sights, the IAEA can inspect at anytime, and they will because there is a 24/7 monitoring service that is set up. What? Did you expect that the UN could just waltz in to any country and inspect? No there is a formal process. In fact, many of you don't realize because you listen to liberal/conservative biased media, but 24 days is REMARKABLY fast. It usually takes MONTHS to set up inspections as such. Cleaning up nuclear weapons, and even moving them (which is what everyone is afraid of) takes quite awhile- even months if you want to be close to exact. Also, it is nearly impossible, even with all the money Iran has, for them to get/build a bomb with the low level of enriched uranium, and the lack of centrifuges/sights they will have. The arms embargo continues to be in place, so they cannot receive major weapons. The oil embargo on the US will be lifted so, 2$ gas for us!
NOW TO IRAN AS A COUNTRY:
Why do they shout death to America/Israel?
Well, for starters. We shot down a passenger airplane (Iran Air 655) - killing hundreds of people and affecting hundreds of families (sounds like 9/11 a lot). We took over their government in 1958 and put our own leader in (the shah) which eventually led to the 1979 revolution- nearly tore apart the country. The US and Iraq lied about chemical weapons that led to a terrible, decade-long war for Iran. Those are a few reasons why the relations with Iran are uneasy. So basically, we walked into their home and caused a bunch of unnecessary shit during the US imperial regime.
Also, Iran supports any people whom are oppressed by their goverment. JUST AS THE UNITED STATES DOES EXCEPT THE UNITED STATES IS ALLIED WITH COUNTRIES LIKE SAUDI ARABIA- WHICH BEHEADS ITS PEOPLE UNDER LAWS SIMILAR TO THOSE OF ISIS'S! The Iranian goverment supports oppressed people in countries in Lebanon, Yemen, Saudi countries, etc.- and if you didn't know, those countries are so oppressive on many of its Shiite and Sunni people; many are executed under laws that ISIS abides by as i said earlier. IRAN OPPOSES THAT. So the 'rebels' Iran is supporting such as Hezbollah (which have seats in diplomatic relations with other countries), Hammas (which fight for the land that was stolen from them, and yes their is christians and jews in Palestine), and the yemeni rebels are fighting because they are oppressed by their governments. They support the destruction of the Israeli goverment because Israel unfairly took the Palestinian land that they say was given to them by their imaginary god. So the reason that they say death to America and Israel, is because they do not support the GOVERNMENTS, not the people, but the GOVERNMENTS because the United States/Israel openly supports the destruction of the oppressed people. If you don't believe me, just look in the comments below! Many want the destruction of Iran. Iran is a country who has NOT declared in over 200 years, has had nuclear power for decades, and has not touched the US in years, and we all the sudden want to kill them? Seems like another fake trilogy of wars to me.
Good job on not being hysterical and actually taking a reasonable approach to it. I swear this middle school level of thinking of "good" guys vs "bad" guys is poisonous to our existence.
TwZGaming As an Iranian, I thank you so much for this comment. I feel like a lot of Western people feel the need to hate on Iran because of what the media feeds them and not based on any truth. We are NOT terrorists, as I always say to people, if Iran wanted to use it's nuclear power for evil, we would've done it by now. Iran is full of intellectuals and science is a very prominent field, I can be sure that it is used for research and such.
Adding to your point about the Shah and the revolution, the US and Britain were seeing that the Shah was becoming increasingly powerful and could eventually be the most powerful man on earth, which is one of the reasons they sparked this revolution (this is a pretty general statement because Iranian politics are super complicated).
People cannot even begin to understand what the US has done to us, on a personal level, I can tell you. The same passenger plane that was shot down that you mentioned - one of my fathers friends was on board. The Iran-Iraq war that was supported by the US took away my parents' teenage years, the war literally started when my mom was 11, and ended when she was 19. Schools were shut down, bombs were raining down on the streets (even major cities like Tehran). It is very hurtful that we are called the terrorists when we have had our fair share of terrorism upon us.
There are no Jews in the Palestinian territories, lol
There is only one issue I have with what you have said here, and that is the following, quote: "...Israel unfairly took the Palestinian land that they say was given to them by *their imaginary god*..."
Their "imaginary god" is the same one christians and muslims pray to, the god of Abraham. They are all barking up the same tree, but just from different angels (read interpretations of that deity's message). These three religions, judaism, christianity and islam are called the abrahamic faiths, because they each claim Abraham to be their patriarch/ancestor.

This deal sounds great! It is great. The last deal was great as well. What everyone is up in arms about is the enforcement. This deal has terrible inspection terms (e.g. the length of time of giving notice, and the sites that can be inspected) and enforcement terms (e.g. the time given to come into compliance when a violation is observed, and what actions we can take when there is non-compliance). That is THE critical part of the deal, and this deal has no muscle in that area. Also, sanctions were working. The reason this got done was because no one in global politics at the time would stand up to Iran when they threatened war. Yet war is always a last resort possibility, and we have to be prepared to use that tool, IF necessary. Turns out, only Iran was, so they got what they wanted.
3 of the top nuclear site can only be inspected by Iranian officials. All other inspections require 24 day advanced notice.
This story failed to mention advance notification for inspections. Isn't that important?
Jesus, this is so biased.
+Dan Chen How come? It's the truth their is no opinion made on the point only facts.
in what way
+Dan Chen I'd LOVE to hear how this is biased, please enlighten us.
Plato The video should explain the controversy surrounding the deal. Instead, it only explains the liberal argument for the deal and fails to talk the Republican argument against it, don't you think the video should present both sides of the argument and let viewers decide if the deal was worth it?
It clear things up, I support this deal. I just think Vox is too liberal. To the point where they are not sharing everything with the public
The Iran deal looks fairly well constructed to me. Can someone pls tell me why president Trump calls it a mistake? What are those accusations based on?
The fact the billions of us dollars given to IRAN are being spent on nuclear weapons does not bother you? Can someone pls explain why liberals are so fricken stupid?
Billions of dollars were given to Iran. A place of which believed in “death to America and Israel”. Republicans do not hate obama for trying to make peace, but some of them did not like the fact that he handed money over to a nation that has been known to have terrorist groups within.
Iran funds terrorism they only have a few allies and one is North Korea
The inspections were a load of crap Iran’s did the inspections
And the money we gave them
Beau Biker well, why do the u.s. even bother sending nuclear inspectors then? Sending u.n. nuclear inspectors was part of the deal. To me this was the original plan to withdraw the u.s. just used the deal for espionage purposes. Simple as that!
trump had no problem with the restrictions imposed against iran in the deal, his argument was that, the deal did not warrant such relaxations of sanctions against iran. It's also a case of relative gains by the USA as they seem to get relative gains. They always try to get the best out of the deal
you completely forgot to mention that not all sanctions are related to Iran's nuclear programme. There are still numerous sanctions in place that are making life very hard for foreign & Iranian businesses
And here we are
