It came around to run pretty easy, the wiring, fuel lines etc. were what was time consuming. Mice chewed the harness up. We got that dusting of snow last night.
Looks similar to a Polaris we had - pretty tippy though. My favorite was a light little Rupp. We could just pick the back up to reposition if we got stuck.
Very nice, Dave! That thing sounds great and can really scoot. Neat to see, don't have hardly any of those here in Florida. I thought Evinrude only made outboard motors. Hope you're doing well and Happy New Year! 🚜 👍
I wouldn’t expect to see too many sleds in Florida 😁 back in the early 70s there were over 200 manufacturers trying to break into the sled market. Even John Deere made snowmobiles. Everything is good around, hope the same for you guys, Happy New Year.
1973 and it’s all original. I just fixed the stuff that needed it. All new lines, repaired electrical etc. Big vintage rally in Elk River end of the month. Midwest ride in. I plan to be there!
Hi Dave, hope you’re well…great article in the Oliver Heritage magazine and always loved your farm videos. Whatever happened to the Skee Horse? You and your brother had it running on a separate tank in one video and it was sitting with this one. We have the same Johnson snowmobile that has been on the farm in CNY since my grandfather bought it new in December 1970. This is awesome, glad to see it running!!!
Hi John, thanks for the nice message. I was in an article the other year, my brother has one coming up, maybes it’s out now, not sure. The old ski horse is sitting on pallet racking in dads shop. This machine is in much nicer shape than the Johnson, was grandpa’s favorite and having a rotary makes it more unique. I plan on taking to a vintage sled show soon. I may get back to making some videos, but it will shift more towards old cars and threshing shows.
@@crazydave4455 it’s great you still have it and I do remember it looking rougher. The hoods and seats didn’t hold up too well! I really respect the pride you have in your family’s heritage in your farm videos. Always great to see a new video from you and looking forward to what you have coming up. Hope you get some snow in MN to enjoy that Evinrude! We haven’t had enough to ride here in CNY in a couple of years.
I may do a video comparing this to my new one. 50 model years apart, this one also has a cig lighter! I was listening to your live last night while I was putting the dash back on.
@@crazydave4455 we’re getting that nor’easter right now but on Tuesday and Wednesday it’s gonna be back into the low to mid 40s and rain the past two or three winters have sucked for snowmobiling
@@TheGrumpyFarmer last year we had a record year, I put on 450 miles in March. Finally upgraded and it’s a record the other way. Sled with 0 miles sitting in the garage….
Wow,! We had an Evinrude 440 just like this when I was a kid. I loved the reverse. It got me out of trouble a few times.
She’s mint! Cool 😎
It cleaned up and runs great after being in storage. Looks like there is more snow there.

We got that dusting of snow last night.
Probably the nicest one around
Has a few battle scars, but over all pretty good condition. 👍
Nice Dave
The first sled i rode was a Evinrud. Elder than that.
We had this one and a Johnson left at the farm.
Cool
Nice to see your using period correct knee on the seat riding position!😂
How do you know my grandpa didn’t invent that position scouting ice fish’in holes on that machine 😜

These old rigs are tanks! But have reverse 😁 Darrin ran an old 68 Rupp when we were kids.
Now all thats missing is the white stuff. 👍 nice work.
Figures I broke down and bought new one this year…. You can thank me for the shit winter 🤣
@crazydave4455 I'm not complaining its nice for cutting firewood. Would like the swamp to freeze tho so I can resume fencing. 👍🍻

Did you restore that Evenrude snowmobile, what was the year of the sled, the old time snowmobile run in Lake Park is coming up next month

Where has the content been
Very busy year. I may start making some videos again, but there will be less farm / tractor stuff as the farm is gone.
Wow that had reverse and it looks like it would be a nice comfortable ride for a 100 mile day of trail riding 😳🤦♂️🤣🤣
