  • Paddle Steamer Waverley passing Whiting Bay on Thursday, Isle of Arran on her way from brodick to Pladda Isle, near Kildonan Isle of Arran
The soundtrack is Billy Connolly and Ron Geesin singing and playing on the Waverley itself exactly half a century ago in 1974, just after the vessel was gifted from Caledonian MacBrayne for £1.

She seems to be spending some time off the Ayrshire coast just lately.

    Hey Dave.
Now that they’ve cleaned up Arrans beaches, maybe the next step is to add some artificial reefs.
Besides adding an aquatic habitat, they should channel all those sloppy waves into something more coherent and surfable on longboards.
Drumadoon looks surfable when it’s kickin off.
Ps. How’s your tribute band getting along?
