I can claim to be an old Lahori. Though born after the partition but my grand father died at an early age in 1901. He was the librarian of Punjab library & also lectured in Punjab university. My fathe Sh. Abdul Majeed in 1921 established one of the only 4 shops belonging to muslims out of some 650 total shops. Chief Boot House was one the famous & biggest shops of Anarkali bazar.

Spent quite a lot of my childhood in Krishan Nagar. Its really sad to see that most of the historic buildings changed into plazas with horrible looking auto workshops beneath. Noori Building, Soori Building, Neele Bar stop, all have changed. Krishan Nagar Bazar shopkeepers have destroyed the historic look by putting there wares on the street rather than keeping them in the shop. There used to be initially bus services which converted to wagon service which again converted to new Khan bus service and now its all gone with Qingchi Rickshaws everywhere. Middle class people who were the pride of the area are now gradually leaving to posh areas of Lahore and the vacuum is being filled by worker class. The fabric of society there has changed so much.
You still manage to find people who are true middle class, the pillars of society but their children's are also pushing them to leave for greener pastures in the socially dead housing societies in the outskirts of Lahore.
In 2009 ,i was a FSC student in Islamia college civil lines.I used to walk on the streets of krishan nagar .... Nostalgic 💔

So beautiful.🌺🌻🌷 My parents and generations of them born and lived in now a days Pakistan. I feel highly emotional watching these beautiful invaluable ruins which are full of history, stories and memories. I wish if I can watch the place of my ancestors at least on CZcams.

Krishan Nagar is now called Islampura & it is situated behind the Secretariat.
The most famous is Siraj Building that is more than 100 years old & was the only Muslim Building in the predominant Hindu area.

I regularly watch your videos on Lahore. You present a treasure worth appreciating. However your video on Krishan Nagar left everything to be desired. I was born in KN, reared, educated and married there. Spent my 29 years of life before moving to Karachi. You have done a gross injustice by just touching KN in this video. KN needs a full one hour video exploring from 1947 to todate. Only you can do it. I look forward to hearing from you very positively and SOON.

Pl Zeeshan do a programme on Cowk Jhanda the renowned Muslim saint and his mirical, inside Mori Gate. His grave is also still there and the Sufi saint is part of Lahore history. Further reference is available in Lahore number of Naqoosh a copy of which is decorated in my library which I study before going to sleep and to stroll in Lahore streets in my dreams being a Lahori and Lahore lover. اسلام علیکم ، کیسے ہیں آپ، ویڈیو میں اکثر آپ سے ملاقات رکھتی ہوں ، اج آپ کرشن نگر لے گئے تو بچپن کے یادیں تازہ ہوگئیں، پاکستان بننے کے بعد 47میں میری نانی اور نانا کرشن نگر میں آکر رہائش پذیر ہوئے گھر کافی بڑا ملا تھا تو آدھے میں اپنے همزلف اور میرے دادا جان اور دادی کو بھی بلا لیا، تو سوچیں میرا تو بچپن وہاں گزرا ، گلي ختم ہوتی تو منٹو پارک شروع ہوجاتا، اور ساتھ سنت نگر تھا وہاں بھی ہمارے خاندان کے لوگ دہلی سے اور پانی پت سر آکر آباد ہوئے تھے، جب ہماری خا لا گورنمنٹ کا لج جائیں کبھی سائیکل پر کبھی تانگے پر، وہاں انار کلی جاتے ہوئے ٹنڈے کے کباب ضرور کھاتے تھے ، مجھے آپ کے ساتھ گھومتے ہوئے بہت ہی اچھا لگتا ہے، بہت شکریہ جیتے رہیے ۔

we were the resident of Krishan nagar, i spent my entire childhood by roaming on those street. I studied in the Madrasa of shamim jhalandhari. the sister of HAFEEZ JHALANDHARI, THE WRITER OD Pakistan's national ANthem. We can easily go and visit any house at Krishan nagar. Nobody sop us. even we had a friend who lived in an ol mansion of hindus, there was a jail and a lift in her basement. what a beautiful place to live in. Its always a pleasure to share the memories of Krishan Nagar. It was a cultural heritage, still we remember it just because of 12 Rabi-ul Awwal julus and Muharram-ul- HARAM Grand Julus. there is no comparison of Krishan Nagar with any town or city of Pakistan, there was peace, solace, and happiness. I missed my childhood after watching this video.

We used to hear jo sukh chajoo de chaubare o naa balkh na bukhare saying as a metaphor meaning what happiness is in your own place is not in foreign lands. Who knew this saying had another real connotation with divine happiness within oneself or being connected to chajoo bhagat sect better than all great places. Pray one day we can experience what our forefathers did.
